I picked one up, you're absolutely spot on with its ability to blast through anything. It's my first volume shifted board, got it for a steal, it carves like a champ, has waaaay more pop than I expected, and I regret nothing. You stated on a previous year's video not to sleep on it, that was stellar advice. I'm using my old B Mission bindings (way too soft, will upgrade in Oct.), and 32 TM2 double boas. To whom it may concern: these things get overlooked, overstocked, and therefore have deep, deep discounts in the fall.
I’ve had this board for a few years and love it. Been wanting to get on a ultra mind expander for a few years, but really intrigued now that it’s camber underfoot this year. You think there’s too much overlap between these boards or would it bring something new to the quiver?
I had this board, and almost loved it. Slightly stiffer flex, awesome. Being able to plow through everything, super awesome. However, wish it had a bit more of a tail. If the insert packs were slightly a bit further up, or if the tail was wider. That would make it incredible. If I could put together the sashimi (front half) and combine it with the Solomon dancehaul (back half, wider), dang would that be an awesome board.
@@AngrySnowboarder Until they make those bigger, or at least wider, I can’t. 215 lbs and size 12 boot. But I did watch your video on that board and from what you talked about in the video, sounds like a good board, they should make those in mens sizes.
I’m looking for a powder, tree, surf/slasher to complete my 2 board quiver. I picked up a 156 Dynamo based on your review and answers to my questions. That thing absolutely rips, much appreciated on the guidance. Thoughts on the Sashimi vs Endeavor, Excavator, ME, Storm Chaser or other boards I should consider?
@@AngrySnowboarder totally, and I watched them lol. Was just curious if one stood out for what I’m looking for. The sale on the Endeavor is enticing, but that Bataleon Surfer would be a dream.
Hey Avran, Seeing a killer deal on the 2021 Sashimi right now. 152 length sound right for a 145 lbs, 5'10", size 9 boot rider? Planning on riding this in the heavy Tahoe snow.
Would you recommend this board for east coast riding, occasional shallow pow and tree riding or what other boards should I consider? For someone 210-220 lbs would you recommend 156 or 160. ? Thanks
Hello Avran. Thinking of a Japow trip. I have an Algorhythm and Gremlin. Would this board work for Japan or is there too much overlap with any of the boards that i currently have? or do you recommend another board or would the Gremlin be good enough? Is there a Top 5 Japow board video coming?
Just bought a Sashimi 156 for my stepson. He's 6'2" 190lbs with a size 12 boot. He rides well but he's not a real hard charger. Was 156 the right choice? I can still return it.
Hey why do you recommend the Union Strata for this? On Union's website they say its for park and jibbing, but I'm sure you know what you're talking about so there must be a reason. Thanks!
Haha cuz I don’t know much myself and all I know is what I can read on their websites. Thanks for the quick response, totally makes sense what you’re saying with the surfy feel. If I wanted to use my sashimi to charge hard rather than be surfy would you still recommend the strata? Or something more free ride oriented
My guess is this is more playful than the xv hence no reverse flex. I prefer reverse flex, it can be really helpful specially late season and out-bounds
The Rossi site and other retailers still call it a “reverse directional” that softens towards the tail. Maybe the combo of massive rocker nose, and 50mm of taper… so it nose doesn’t feel as stiff as they claim.
I've got one of these on the way and im really confused about how to setup my stance on it. there are 7 inserts on the front foot and 5 at the back. to stay centered do you start from the inner most inserts and work out or the other way around?
Looking for something to bring to japan next year. 6ft, 200lbs, 9.5 boot. I want a board that will float and be quick/slashy in the trees. Would a 156 have enough float for me?
Service Dog is the softest of the three with the Single being a little stiffer in the nose than the Sashimi. Out of those three the Sashimi or Single would be the two I'd heavily consider and the Service Dog would only come into consideration if I was riding more lower angle pow.
Hey bro great review. I have a question for you but its not on this board. Would you be interested in answering I dont want to take your post over with off topic chatter.
