Baldur's Gate 3 is such a unique game, it's a fascinating phenomenon. It's still in early access and many people have already recognized it as one of the best games they've ever played (myself included). Many people have devoted dozens or even hundreds of hours to it already. That game is going to be legendary when it finally comes out.
@@Ranyanya Well, the story is clearly going to revolve around the city of Baldur's Gate, and there are already some ties to the original, so I would say the title is pretty accurate. But I also think the title doesn't matter, it's the least important aspect of the game. "far from the quality of the original" - I'm not sure if you mean far better or far worse. I personally think the original games aged pretty badly, especially the first one. I think a lot of people don't see that, because they don't recognize the fact that you can still love a game from your childhood, while acknowledging its many flaws. The original BG came out almost 25 years ago. That's a REALLY long time in the gaming industry. By standards from 25 years ago, it was a revolutionary game. By today's standards, the game mechanics are extremely dated and the writing is more or less mediocre and generic. BG3, so far, seems excellent in both departments, but who knows how people will feel about it 25 years from now. So comparing those games is very difficult (especially when you can't look past your childhood nostalgia) and probably isn't helpful.
@@austin842 It's visually similar to DOS 2, but that's probably the biggest thing the games have in common apart from some minor tropes (like the fact that you start the game on a beach and gather up your party) The writing and the voice acting is equally good. The fighting system feels smoother, but is very different, despite also being turn-based. It's all based on D&D 5th edition, so your characters have limited resources that you get back after camping, not cooldown-based abilities, but there are also various new options like shoving people or jumping. The game is a bit like a combination of DOS2 and Dragon Age (close-up conversations and cut scenes, your own camp where you can talk to your companions etc.). It's also in a completely different world (again, D&D 5th edition) and I would say that is, in a way, one of its flaws. If you don't know the world and its lore already, you might not fully appreciate what's happening, even though the game tries to explain it to some degree. There are also countless choices and creative ways to handle things, which is also similar to DOS2, but even more expanded imo.
You know this current Zoria demo will not be part of the final game. The areas might be part of the final game, but otherwise the devs made this demo to show off some lore and the mechanics while keeping the game story to be discovered later
Seems like the number of quality tactical strategy games coming out has increased? Not sure if true or selection bias on my part. Regardless, your channel is a great resource. I've put a number of these on my wishlist.
Cool list, I'll be keeping an eye on most of these games. Some more games of this kind that I have on my wishlist are: Octopath Traveler 2, For The King 2, Wartales, Darkest Dungeon 2, Colony Ship, The Iron Oath and Crimson Tactics: The Rise of The White Banner.
I also am waiting for BG 3 full release before I play it anymore. Otherwise, my next pick would be Jagged Alliance. I loved the originals and pretty well disliked the several wannabe JAs that have come out since. I'm hoping this one keeps the campiness of the original.
There is a Tactical RPG of Mechs that is coming too maybe they will Release it in 2023 called Phantom Brigade, there is also another one mech that it is turn based but you move your Mech and Shoot like a 3rd person mech game, can't remember the game now. but yeah a Lot of Games Under the radar that might release in 2023...
As a west european who doesn't know much about it, I love that we're starting to see games based on slavic mythology instead of greek and scandinavian, probably thanks to the witcher's success
There is even one RTS game being made based on Baltic mythology - Godsworn. Looks impressive as indie game. Developers are trying new horizons now, that is great.
about 1/3 of all the games are sci-fi, it's kinda impossible to make top 10 and not to anger 90% of the population. Sci-fi RPGs is a bit closer, but probably a long shot as well (I will put this idea into my list).
07:17 if miasme chronicle was a hack'n slash he would very competitive to Diablo vi, he is Very magnificence to look. ehhh Guys if you like RPG turn_based go ahead with Divinty Original Son 2 ans wastland 3 toi won't regret IT 😊😊😊😊
Excited for Cyberknights purely because of the creators, they made star traders frontiers and have had an absolutely insane level of post launch support for it, a couple hundred updates with new content and gameplay mechanic updates.
There are people who think Australia is fake. Some conspiracy that it is "invented" by USA so it can always vote in United Nations for USA's favor. I can't remember where I have read it though :D
