The 2024 Ford Maverick Lariat Is An Excellent Small Truck That Won’t Break The Bank 

At $37k that Maverick is no longer good bang for the buck. At $37k you might as well get the midsized Frontier which has better horsepower, torque, payload, towing, ground clearance, etc.. An entry priced trim Ranger would be a better choice as well. When the Maverick was launched it was priced $20k-$32k but it seems those days are over.

I ordered a Maverick Hybrid. It took 19 months to arrive. In that time the price had gone up $5400. I told the dealer to keep it. As a customer we have the power to walk away. Sidenote: look at all the recalls on the Maverick.

It’s a neat little truck, but it only makes sense to me if you’re getting a lower trim. Otherwise if you’re over 35k, I’d fetch it up a little more and go for a Honda ridgeline.

I got my Lariat a year ago. It is perfect for me. I average close to 50 mpg on country roads.

One thing that all reviewers leave out is the fact that it can be flat towed. That is the reason I bought my 2024 hybrid maverick lariat. It has excellent fuel mileage and good features. It sure beats the price of A jeep.

From $19999.99 to $37,330, what a joke of a price increase.

This truck is for everyone looking for practicality, MPG, confort, utility, space, fun, and a compact daily driver. Both engines are reliable and great to have! Don’t hesitate! I have 2 Mavericks! It’s all most people will ever need.

The rear window does power slide open. The button is hidden near the push button start button.

this is a perfect daily commuter, multi-purpose, and activity vehicle. the fact it has an Aisin 8spd, this one should last long time without a major issue.

My husband and I got a hybrid one earlier this year, and are really liking it.

I looked for 6 months and I got many sales people nuts.Then I ended up with 2023 Ford Maverick XLT fully loaded Red Tremor with black appearance and it’s fantastic. Cheap plastic is great Tremor is high off the ground Full size spare tire Square shape great for vision Light tinted I love it AC works great Heat works great Seats very comfortable Easy to park in Brooklyn Sounds system is fine Bed is good enough for basic needs. Lots of head room for tall guys Goes over bumps in way that makes you feel safe The interior color is fine. My back window doesn’t have that chicken window with light tin great view out the back. The non tremors doesn’t look good but higher off the ground Tremor looks FINE. I only wanted gas and no hybrid. It’s easy to drive I wish Ford blind spot and lane keeping would make sounds😥also it need a better front bumper so I could put a bull bar😥

I just got a 2024 Maverick XL with the four cylinder turbo. I like the power and it’s all wheel drive for the price it’s worth it. I’m not happy with the steel wheels 🛞 but I will get black wheels and a little lift kit.

I'm owning the Maverick AWD FX4. It's handling very well, probably the best compared to hybrid or even Tremor. It drives like a compact SUV and very sporty.

Best Ford vehicle ever launched ever and sales growth remains solid unlike the Toyota Tacoma disaster that appears to be spreading. This is just a great truck for modding and the like which has gone out the window thanks to Tesla. There are serious issues such as with the CVT that must get rectified and I'm not sure about the hybrid system....but at least it has one. This is an actual work truck as well contrary to popular opinion as new trucks have gotten *WAY* too big this being an exception to that. Now if only Dodge would come out with a new Dakota..

The refresh’s might have AWD with the hybrid.

I bought a 23 Maverick Lariat Hybrid for a handful of good reasons. 1. I dont tow anything. 2. It is within an inch in length of my 08 LaCrosse that it replaced. 3. After 4000 miles of local driving im averaging 40.8 mpg. 4. For the 38k that I paid (because i ordered mine as opposed to buying it off a lot) im in a similarly loaded compact SUV, but thats not nearly as fun as this little trucklet.

This is such a cool little truck, but it's not so cheap when you go for a lariat 😢

Now that I know the Maverick has an Aisin trans, I'm sold.

The HYBRID is $1500 extra, not $500

Someone may have mentions this but at 11:15 you can see the switch, next to the usb ports, to open the rear sliding window.

I got that exact model to tow motorcycles. 2k isn't quite enough, I need about 4k. I want AWD to get around in light snow. Also, I wouldn't buy a hybrid unless it was super fast and could power a house in a power outtage or had an actually benefit. I like having the stop and go adaptive cruise with lane centering for rush hour traffic.

I am a normal joe, a DIY guy... this truck should have been a all rounder for me, a hybrid to save gas, small enough to use a daily driver and last to haul stuff and also support a small family. but they effed up by not including a mid gate. I mean having a mid gate like avalance makes it so easy for camping and hadling something like a table or sofa so easy. the current truck bed is too small to even hold a queen mattress. the lack of customer centric thinking and not having the for sight to think through this stuff.... I wonder if Ford employees even drive their cars and provide feedback. its just sad. this vehicle ha so much potential.

Well, everyone tells me the Ridgeline is NOT a truck, then they cannot call this a truck either

Great little truck, but it's a shame Ford has priced it where it no longer makes sense for most buyers. Pushing 40 grand with taxes will get you a very nice Rav4 or CR-V

Next year it's going to cost more and pickup truck fans will buy it no mater the cost.

LOL the Ridgeline has the same or better specs for the same money, except with Honda you get way better reliability and several more options for the same price. WTF Over, Ford Could have beat Honda, but for some reason, decided not to.

It used to be that the 2.0L turbo required an up-charge with the hybrid being standard. I have never seen a car maker flipping the script like this in my time being alive. yeah and it's not $500 like Sofian said, it's $1500 with the tax we are talking 2 grand extra.

Sold them kinda cheap before the dealer markups. Saw them sell well then decided to add thousands to them. Smh.

My $38k Tacoma has less features than the $38k Lariat trim. When I sold my 2023 Lariat to get a 2023 Tacoma I lost a lot features - heated seats/steering wheel, AWD, Lane centering, BLIS, Collision mitigation, ACC w/ stop-n-go, remote start, acoustic insulated front glass, heated mirrors, LED headlights, LED Daytime running lights and more.

At this price get a Ridgeline or frontier.

Why do these reviewers pretend these are a good deal? 37k is a absolute ripoff. It's built like crap in Mexico. You can get a Frontier 4x4 for the same price.

No Hybrid with AWD cuts off the cold weather customers. I can’t buy anything without 4x4 or at least AWD. No remote start is a bummer as well. MPG plus 4x4 is what the people want

Pretty strong rumors that Ford is going to offer awd for the 2025 Maverick Hybrid. They're still having problems with production capacity and that continues to affect pricing. A $37k Maverick doesn't make nearly as much sense as a $25k one.

Great truck but some information in the video needs corrected or correction. The Maverick tremor has 9.4 inches of ground clearance. The Maverick non hybrid has similar leg room and more headroom than the Honda Ridgeline. Yes it is wider but doesn't give you more room where it is needed that the video portrayed. Also FYI cubic ft bed on the Maverick 33.4, Ridgeline 33.9 Santa Cruz 27. Car and driver claims the Ford Maverick got 5.9 from 0 to 60, probably the fastest time for all three brands mentioned in the video. Also the video said the Ford Maverick being lower made it easier to enter. Which is true but it also has the most ground clearance for the 3 vehicles mentioned in the video. The Honda Ridgeline is 7.6 inches the Santa Cruz is 8.6 the Ford Maverick hybrid 8.3 the AWD 8.6 and the optional tremor is 9.4 inches of ground clearance. It's a great truck and surprisingly not that small at all in comparison. Add the additional advantage of ground clearance, trailer towing capabilities and payload capabilities it is a very capable truck. Almost forgot about the great mileage which definitely leads the truck industry. Just for reference Ford can not keep up with the demand and many couldn't wait to order and at the same time couldn't find what they wanted on the lot. So in these situations many bought other vehicles. The video touched on that by stating Ford had to stop the ordering. Still in 2023 Ford sold almost 2 to 1 for every Ridgeline and almost 3 to 1 for every Santa Cruz. I'm wondering once Ford can up production and offering the hybrid in AWD what kind of numbers it will generate.

I thought about the Maverick and going to pass. Why? I'd rather have a real gear selector. Two the interior looks cheap and packed in too many control buttons in a small area. They are still having problems with the Ecoboost. My old one popped the coil packs at 80k and at 85, the EGR system was messing up or it was the head gasket. I'll wait for the Toyota Stout or the Mazda BT-50 (if they bring it over).

As many others have said, $35K plus defeats the whole purpose of this truck, as does getting the turbo engine instead of the hybrid. In doing those two things you have ruined the affordability by making it cost the same or more than better, more capable rivals and by massively increasing the cost of ownership due to much higher fuel costs vs the hybrid. The hybrid powertrain has also proven to be the more reliable one, so that's 3 reasons it makes more sense. If you're splurging $35K for this you're much better off getting something like a Toyota Tacoma that will have a more usable bed and better hauling and towing capacity while only being slightly worse on fuel at 23 mpg vs 25 mpg combined. Toyota also has a better reliability record. Getting a Taco seems like a much better choice.

For unibody trucks I would get a Honda Ridgeline

It’s too expensive. It’s unavailable in the base trim, which is what many customers want, especially the hybrid. But that’s also the version Ford makes the least profit per vehicle on. My choice is 🖕, I’ll buy something else.
