So the GX is non-hybrid v6 turbo, and the LC is hybrid i4 turbo right? Seems like a no brainer if you can swing it Also the Grandtrek tires are some of the worst rated tires for snow/wet (see 4Runner forums), shame that even on a $65k+ rig you have to spend another $1000+ to swap out the tires to something remotely decent for four seasons.
Relative to it being the base model and more of a luxury street cruiser with off-road capabilities, it's pretty good for standard off-roading. It's not meant to be a serious rock crawler out of the box, they know customers who want to do that will lift it and add bigger tires, etc.
