As a big poddy fan, I love the technical insights that Milway and Ollie bring to the shows. But, I also love the passion and personal insights that Sven has to contribute, and a bit of talking over each other is quite funny. Happy either way Needles, keep them coming

I have only followed downhill racing for the last 5 years. I do feel that with a more connected approach linking up the team, the riders, more open social media with the tracks and organization you would have an epic sport that would have so many more supporters and companies wanting to invest and sponsor the sport. The raw talent, connectabily of so many people in the sport combined with a simple to understand but challenging activities lends itself to being on a crazy level and super healthy.

1: 100% right about features and the adjusting that went on, skills gaps should equal time gaps. Do not dumb down. 2: That track is one of the best on the circut. Could it be ESO have left no money in the organizer pot to look after it ? Someone please ask that question. 3. O'Callahan qualied with no chain and is known to be a great technical rider in the wet. He came down 3 or 4 secs up and all we saw was him crossing the finish line. Is there nobody on the production team with this obvious intel ? 4. Bruni got his intel mid run. It was smart yes but it then got anticlimactic for the racing. Do we really want this in DH as fans ? Im on the fence. Maybe if he was down and the message was to pull the finger out I could be convinced. 5. What a race. The gladiators gladiated. The riders are everything to this show

Fair Questions and points. Think it’s fair BRUNI got the info Not sure you can stop that. Biggest info he got was also before he started I think.

@@MovingTheNeedlePodcast very good point. I guess it would have been hard for him to judge if he was doing just enough until that confirmation half way. Which is scary as he was up doing just enough 🫣

I'll throw in my 2 cents worth in regards to the discussion about the race weekend format. I would propose to start by having a true "Finals" race with only the top riders, such as just the top 5 from the "Semifinals". So: the "Semifinals" would become the actual complete race with the full field of riders, in the way that the "Finals" were prior to the current format. But then, we would have an extra race for only the top 5 from the "Semifinals" to determine the winner. This way you can still have the potential for your "Cinderella Story", you can eliminate the protected-rider nonsense, and create great build-up to a Finals race of the best riders of the event! That would be a great show! And, there is no need to expand the schedule for as many additional runs. 😃
