Great unbiased review. As the currently 2022 Toyota Tacoma owner. it just hard to upgrade to 2024 with such pricing ~45K and so many blank buttons, sliding rear windows optional, no power driver seat 😢
Hey Brian, have you ever considered a video on the 2024 Nissan Frontier? Your POV? That would be a very interesting video!! Maybe your neighbors would be cool with that...
Love the detailed review, it did seem like you were grasping at a lot of straws. I can’t help but feel like you have mixed feelings about the new Tacoma.
Thank you. I just freestyled it and went with my honest first thoughts. I wanted to be as unbiased as I could. I personally think it’s an awesome truck!
Brian, nice review. Can you speak on the rear dif? Do you get the locker with the TRD OR like the last Gen 3 has? Worth mentioning....Regarding the 8 speed trans. I saw a video mentioning that it is the same 8 speed that Toyota has being using in other vehicles. Forget the model of the trans but I had one in my wife's Camry and that was a super smooth unit. Flawless shifting. Point being while the engine is "new" the trans is a very proven design. It may make some buyers feel better.
@@ericd1632 Yes you are correct. I spent the better part of a week looking at all the new offerings in this segment and I went with another Tacoma. This time an SR5 4wd to keep the cost down a bit. I'm rolling the dice with the reliability given all the changes. Toyata has a good track record with me. All the other offerings are a significantly bigger gamble to me in this area. The SR5 seems to have everything I reasonably need. I considered the SR trim but given the de-tuned engine and the old style leaf springs in back the SR5 seems like it is going to be the go to model for this gen Tacoma. Again thanks for your review and assessment of the new truck. Very helpful.
That’s not extra thick paint on the bottom. That’s chip guard and it’s a pain in the ass to duplicate if you work in a body shop like I have for the last 30 years.
@@brianruperti 60% of millennials live at home with parents, more now than during the Great Depression….. but hey, at least the “evil orange man” is gone… who cares about prosperity
@@minipandora22 do you seriously believe the president has that much influence on consumer prices? I’d recommend an economics class at your local university or community college.
thank you for taking your time showing things slowly and up close, yes there are a lot of other Toyota Tacoma videos out there but yours stands out for your patience and attention to detail.
Awesome video. Glad you took a different approach instead of just reading off a spec sheet like many other videos. I really like the limited trim because I like chrome. I saw that it had an auto stop start button on it unfortunately
Nice job on the video. I got my off road prmium about 1.5 months ago and love it! Came from a 2023 off road. The difference in the tansmission is night and day and safety sense 3 is also worlds better!
I don’t think the new Tacoma has been out long enough to say it’s a disappointment. You may not like some features or the engine but until it’s been experienced I don’t think you can have a legitimate opinion of the new Tacoma. I’m not saying you’re wrong I’m saying you just don’t know if it’s a disappointment yet.
If you park your 3rd gen Tacoma in your garage, the length will be the same but the 4th gen Tacoma is 4 inches wider. So if you park two cars in a two car garage, you’ll have to find room for the additional width.
Again another no non-sense review, to the point, informative, great video/camera work. It's a great looking truck, I too have a 21 3rd gen OR. Between the two models there's some give and take. When one's available at a dealer in my area I'll take one out for a test drive for sure.
This thing rides like a caddie. I have the 24' TRD OFF-ROAD with the remote back window, Also it has a dampen tailgate. I guess those aren't standard. Interesting 🤔.... The bed has the DC port on the driver side and Ac port on passenger side..
Very good video. Best in depth that i have seen for a car. I recently bought a 2015 4runner limited in blizzard pearl with 120,000 miles and love the thing. Looked at Tacoma and tundra as well. I personally don't care much for the digital dash and the large touchscreen. Guess I'm old school, first 2 cars being an 88 astro van and an 89 buick lesabre. I like analog and buttons to control things lol as far as off-road I swear on my old land rover discos I had although they'd break down before they finished. Dodge durango was my only other thing I took off-road and it just fell apart, got pulled out with an Oldsmobile bravado, sad times. This new taco is nice tho, buddy has an 08 and uses it on his farm and daily and still runs good with 280,000 miles. Hoping for my 4runner to last that long.
Is the manual seat adjustment with electronic lumbar support the default? According to the builder, TRD Off-Road has "Fabric-trimmed seats; 6-way manually adjustable driver and front passenger seats with 2-way manually adjustable lumbar support on driver's seat only" but this has an electronic lumbar, which isn't mentioned with that combination anywhere.
Hey Brian, you did great job with this video for the full review of this awesome truck, I really like your unique style in reviewing TOYOTA cars and I insist that you are my best youtuber ever. I really enjoyed every moment of the video and always being waiting for your next video to share. Actually you full discribed every single detail in the truck and you make whoever watches the video to buy the truck. Great job and hope to see you soon in the next video, and please don't take long times to show up again. Wish to your channel more success. Sending all the best wishes from Egypt 🇪🇬 Peace ✌️
Hamdy thank you so much! I must say this is the best comment I’ve ever had from you! It made my day and warmed my heart so much. Sending love to Egypt from the USA!!!
Brian, there are probably vents under the front seats that will provide cooling or heating to the rear area just like the 2021 Tacoma that you now have. I know they aren’t as good as regular vents in your face but they do work. I don’t know why none of the UTuber knows about these vents. I’ll bet Toyota continues with these vents for rear seat passengers on the 2024 Tacoma models.
Cost cutting is pretty obvious on the 4th Gen. Halogen front turn signal bulbs, skid plates are not steel, stamped steel lower control arms, etc. The list goes on and on.
Exceptional walk-through. I just bought this exact truck. Should be here in about a week. Looking forward to a deeper dive. I'll check out the software videos. Keep up the great work.
Not on this one. With the higher packages I believe it’s in there. I attached a link to the build info you can find out which grade and package will get it for you!
Anyone notice how dirty the inside lens of the headlight is? Why manufactures aren't rejecting these parts from suppliers, I don't know. I've also never opened my back window in my Gen 2 except to clean the glass.
I thought your review was very honest , but to say moderately affordable I totally disagree this truck is completely overprised. To hear that particular truck is going for 40 -50K is ridiculously overpriced
