Perez was much more valuable too the renegades that Martinez was too The stallions.

Problem with the 4 MVP candidates by the season's end was that Perez didn't have enough wins for the award and McCarron, Martinez, and Bates had some really mediocre games to end the season. Hakeem Butler and Breeland Speaks both belong in the NFL with a roster spot. STPOY, absolutely unacceptable, should've been Andre Szmyt or Chris Rowland (Dillon would've won it if he was never cut, let's be honest 🗿). Mike Nolan is absolutely HCOY because he was the most improved coach statistically. He led his guys to a better record, had a better offense, a dominant defense, and the top 2 candidates for DPOY, which I guess was the same in 2023. Oh yeah and he drastically improved while having 4 different starting QBs. ACOY should be Chavis, those games against Houston and San Antonio proved that he was the heart of that defense. Obviously since this is the first UFL season, there is no CBPOY, so I personally think that this year there should've been an award for Underdog Player of the Year (UPOY) based on how little of an impact a player was expected to have versus how impactful they truly were. I think UPOY is Daewood Davis, because prior to his season with the Showboats, he had no pro experience mostly due to injuries. Then he came to Memphis and put up 446 rec yards and led the team in almost all major receiving stats, and he also had one of the league's best highlights on a 82 yard rec TD. He was Memphis's best player by a long shot and I don't think anyone expected him to make much of an impact. Now there's rumors the Carolina Panthers want to sign him 👀

I fully agree that Rowland or Szmyt should've won STPOY as too many people only look at what Bates did in the first half of the season instead of what he did across the whole season. I do agree that Davis probably would've gotten that award if they had it as hading into the season he was written off to being at best the 4th best receiver in the team (counting TE's) and he ended up being the best of them all.

First time i saw some disturbing news on the UFL... It was just announced that FOX signed IndyCar series with a major deal. As a result that is why the UFL games are switching to Friday nights. Indycar is not that popular but given FOX signed it for weekend races and bumped UFL to Friday night sounds troublesome.

I did hear about that, and I hope that it just means that 1 game will be on the weekend for FOX and 1 on Friday and the rest on ABC and ESPN.

I will reiterate this, i was not a Bates MVP guy ever. Kickers play once every drive or so

I just can't get over how many people seem to give him a pass for his play during the second half of the season. I know I sound like a broken record, but a 77% FG is a really bad number. I still don't believe he should've been in the All-UFL team over Szmyt.

@ZombPhoxUFL I agree with this too, I'm also just straight up never gonna buy a kicker being the actual MVP unless a lot of other positions underachieve and said kicker is perfect. I get kickers can win you games but who sets up the kicker?

Hilarious how much you dismiss Wade and AJ. You do know the Brahmas only brought back 8 players from last year and only added 8 ex-Roughnecks from last year (on finalized roster coming out of camp). They basically BUILT the team you saw this season. All the other teams were at least 50% players they had the previous season. Every team suffered injuries. You forget SA was without Garbers for half the season and Dormady isn't in the same field as the other starting QBs. To retool this team from a run and gun pass-first offense to a running based offense ON THE FLY and get stronger as the year went on... That tells me that Wade and AJ did a hell of a job as coaches.

I don't get how you think I have dismissed what they did. While the Brahmas were a much different team than last year and had less consistency compared to every other team, they were still viewed at the exact same level as Michigan heading into the season. Aside from a few people making bold predictions, most people expected both teams to be bottom tier teams this year. I also didn't forget that SA was without Garbers, but acting as if that injury was even close to what Michigan had to deal with is reaching really far. Michigan had to rotate QBs more frequently than SA and to top it off most people viewed Dormady as the best QB from either team heading into the season (granted he did not live up to that hype). That's also not accounting for the injury to Wes or Ginda who were both massive injuries, and while SA did have the Mollette injury early in the year and lost Deestroying early as well, they were not as impactful as the injuries Michigan had to deal with, and let's not forget that Michigan lost the best player they picked up during the off-season process in Corey Coleman due to him retiring as well. Wade and AJ did a great job this year, but not the same level of a job that Mike and Marcel did (in the regular season ofc since it's a regular season award and the Brahmas are in the Chip).
