They did stay open in January after Winterfest one year! After the 1987 Winterfest, they were open the first weekend in January. They had a 3D show in the Kings Island Theater called Seadream they were doing. I went on the Saturday, that's how I remember that!
If you care about pass perks, the difference is pass perks will be for your park you purchased from online. Lots of people got Canada Wonderland perks and can’t use at KI. It’s just a personal preference and if it makes financial sense for your budget. And let’s face it add ons core menu of the dining plan hasn’t changed in over 10 years, but I’m Sure Don misses the cornerstone spicy chicken sandwich or buffalo chicken wrap.
One of the downsides of being a Kings Island Homer is that food!!! HORRIBLE!!!! Kings Island is my 2nd home park. I live in Suburban Cleveland so obviously Cedar Point is 40 minutes away but I'm at Kings Island in 3 hours & Its my wife's favorite Park, I love Kings Island and in several ways I like it more than Cedar Point but definitely NOT when it comes to food!!! Kings Island needs to fire their food & beverage leader, who obviously is just some short order cook probably from a Wendy's or a Denny's somewhere and get a real CULINARY EXPERT in there because going to Cedar Point is a night and day difference when it comes to the food experience! Kings Island is living in the stone ages when it comes to food it's pretty pathetic actually.
We have typically had long waits at KI front gate to get in this year. The hotter the weather the longer the wait.... but it has gotten a little better recently
The dining plan has worked out for me and our family. For KI to cheapen the menu would be detrimental to future sales. Hopefully they will listen and learn. Besides the menu pricing without a dining plan I would not purchasing much food in the park. I know KI isn’t Disney either where you expect to overpay for amusement park food.
Being a KI season pass holder for years going to a Six Flags park is unlikely unless being close to one when traveling for another reason. But it would be nice to know it could be used. That’s just more revenue I’d be spending to the park in food and merchandise.
I haven’t been to a Six Flags park in years, so I really can’t comment on their operations. My choice of theme parks the past 10 years has been Universal and their operations have been very good and hoping to make it to Epic Universe when it opens.
I also have never had a bad Six Flags experience.. though Ive visited during slower times or a special event (but normal public access).. and at worst. Single train ops on a non-headliner ride. Been to SFKKingdom, SFGAm, SFStLouis, and SFOG.. the biggest complaint is new rides have 2 or 3 times opened way later than I would expect, and Im there. (Full throttle, Riddlers Mindbender, and now Flash Vertical Velocity) So, thatd be my biggest hope for legacy flags parks; Secure an earlier construction schedule with their companies that build, test, and inspect these rides. I wanted to go to SFGAd this year.. but with Flash being very late opening, and esp now this all park pass option... I just might chance waiting ONE more year to get on (hopefully) the original form Kingda Ka & El Toro.. I worry those could change one day
OMG🤣🤣🤣🤣 come on Dan we get it you're a very positive, happy guy... that's your thing, that's your brand, we understand, but you could break character for a moment, because as soon as I hear you say you've never had a bad day at a Six Flags park you just sound absolutely delusional🤣 the food is disgusting at almost every single Six Flags park! but maybe because you're used to Kings Island food Six Flags food seems okay and let's face it, some people still just have childlike pallets so chicken tenders and old chewy pizza and paper thin, rubber-like frozen hamburgers are fine with you, because that's all you've ever known your whole life but for people who have any experience in adulthood with eating real food and getting real customer service Six Flags has always been an absolute joke and a complete car wreck... But hey I'm happy to see that you can be so positive through the travesty💯 we really all should be a little more like Dan in that way... He has always been impressed with their absolutely horrible non-existing operations WOW 😂😂😂
