This is my 2,167m Void Base, along with the addition of the "Abandoned" section. This was created on a PS5 in survival mode with ZERO mods. Credit for the music goes to Simon Chylinski, the game's phenomenal composer.
just imagine if devs decided to extend the limit you can go of subnautica for like 3000 more metters and in there you could find gargantuan leviathans instead of usual ghost leviathans, would be cool to get one tapped like that
Dude that “Do not go gently into the night” with you charging on the sea glider and the hard techno subnautica music was one of the most epic things I’ve ever seen.
That's would be quite awesome if we got some deeper lore in that way. I'm really trying to go deeper and do more, it's just a monumental effort having to take apart everything from the higher base, and lug it all down to the deeper one. You guys are inspiring me to keep going.
Seriously! I never understood why people found this game scary. While playing it I mostly felt wonderment and curiosity with a few scares here and there and some intense moments. But this tour, absolutely terrifying. Great job on the atmosphere.
@@galev3955 going as deep as possible with your seamoth is terrifying, I wish I could bring it down to end game depth because that would scare me most, the seamoth is fragile but fast while the prawn suit makes you basically a god in the sea.
I don´t know what makes me more anxious the fact that you build this big base in the pits of hell itself in Subnautica or the fact that I can´t stop staring at the warning that says that the whole base´s hull integrity is poor and I just wait for the moment of floating and panicking.
@@deeplerg7913 If you mean like adding a tube while being in a tube, yeah, that's how I got the second "abandoned" base out there. If you mean something different, I'm not sure.
Man... It's like a tiny story about Alterra's hidden research on 4546B and how they don't care about the security of their own staff. The best part of all is that ALL was made in Survival mode. Totally spectacular!!!
So I just started this game and I accidentally ventured into the dead zone area trying to find diamonds, I got the warning, “This area seems to have a high population of leviathan class species. Are you sure is whatever you’re doing worth it?”. I swear, the next few seconds after that I paused and a ghost leviathan was right in my face.. Never again.
The game has moments like that, yeah. I remember opening a door with my laser cutter and on the other side I got jumpscared by a huge fish trying to eat me. Now maybe I made this up. Maybe I didn't. You will remember this every time you use your laser cutter, wondering, "Will I get jumpscared now? Will there be a huge maw waiting for me on the other side of this door?"
Bro said “lemme build a base that causes panic attacks” Fr this is outstanding! Absolutely horrifying having the leviathans right there the entire time.
I have creative bases much bigger than this, but none which are in the void, feel lived in, or which have actual plants. Kudos to you for building this, IN SURVIVAL!
Lol, why? I have plants in every single base I build, not only do they look cool and make the bases feel more homey, they also are a self-replentishing food and water source. Why would you play without it? The first thing I do in every run is get to the islands and get all the plant seeds 😄
Appreciate the kind words! That's actually something I want to work with more, if the darn game would stop running into memory issues with saving. I'm planning on a "road" with very rare instances of light from the glowing kelp. But again, memory constraints are making going deeper a challenge.
@@NJShadowI know this is an old comment, but I actually had to drop the game because of the memory issues, the pop-in was getting so bad I’d have entire late game areas just refuse to load. I know the PS4 and PS5 versions have a lot of the same issues. Were you able to find any tricks to keep the game functional late in the story?
@AscrodGreytagg Nothing yet. I almost think there's some invisible issue I'm running into, because it doesn't make sense. I've disassembled a TON of this base, and I was only able to go a short distance farther. Now I have to travel between the sections manually, with no ladders, and yet still nothing. I heard a long while back that things like constantly accumulating Stalker teeth could also contribute, but I haven't really looked into that much yet. If I discover anything, I'll try and remember to respond back.
I haven't played the game in about a year give or take, but right here 4:48 when the GIANT ghost leviathan poked his head into the base I won't lie I screamed like a girl
Dude I was already scared when I saw the tunnels you made and suddenly at 1:43 TWO GHOST LEVIATHANS JUST POP OUT OF NOWHERE THAT NEARLY GAVE ME A HEART ATTACK. I have thalassophobia but I love this game, buuuut the void is one of the zones I cannot bring myself into. Not even near, it gives me chills. Massive props to you not only for going there but actually building such a cool base!
This is genuinely so damn impressive, like unbelievable work dude! You can see the amount of thought and effort that went in every step of the way, it's just incredible. Seeing the differences from your original update and just remembering the level of detail you put in had me stunned the whole time. Not to mention how you handle those leviathans like they're little sandsharks lol
while i was killing the juvie ghost leviathans in my prawn suit i nthe toxic river, cause they annoy me, they many times swam directly into the walls /floor/ceiling to escape me. theyre called ghost leviathans for a reason.
This is actually incredibly impressive. The music fits perfectly, the void makes it a horrror movie, and the base texts signs gives it the perfect horror touch. I can't imagine the amount of time this took. Amazing
Absolutely amazing. I especially like the "depths of insanity" base you made in the deepest parts and the insane dash through the leviathan to safety. Seriously, I think if you had narration and some clean editing (I liked the one cut idea but maybe chop out some of the fluff like the swims between bases get shorter and the pauses while swimming or walking) this could have as many views as any subnautica video. Stellar work bud.
I really wish I could have used the soundtrack that I originally did on Reddit, but I know RU-vid is a lot more touchy with that. I did have an original edit that was a smidge more atmospheric, but I'm hoping to revamp this soon, since I've powered up the "abandoned" portion, drained it, and am approaching 3,000m now. Appreciate the constructive criticism; I'll take that into account next time.
Personally, I loved the 1 cut as is. Felt like a mini movie almost, especially with the abandoned base and all the altera messages. I do have a question though. Are you getting lag as you build each base piece? I built a pretty massive void base down to 1.2km and starting to go under the map, but the lag for each piece is starting to drive me nuts
@@travelingtango Yeah, there was some definite lag building, but it doesn't seem to get TOO bad on PS5; it's definitely noticeable though. I've actually gotten to the point where saves are broken due to the lack of memory, so when I start, if I build anything, I have to actually make sure I'm also disassembling a bunch of stuff as well. Since the game is basically forcing me to do so, I've started removing large chunks of the upper base in order to go deeper. That super long tube that takes you straight down with the ladder? Gone. It's definitely providing me an excuse to get more creative though.
@@NJShadow - nice! One thing I'm going to try is build a separate base and then connect them, because the lag seems to be isolated to an individual base, not the total base pieces across the save.
I have one these void bases in my world, but never thought to make a hundred alien containments and use them as a elevator?! This fueled a lot of juicy ideas in my head and will now get to building this in my world! ( PS- Definitely go into the film industry, well constructed piece)!
I watched some prominent RU-vidrs play Subnautica when it came out. What you’ve done here in this one video is honestly so cinematic, it beats those long playlists. You even have a story of sorts, well done
this is THE BEST base build ive ever seen in subnautica. the alien containments were set to be like the biomes, massive containments going down 10 levels. ive never even thought to do some of this. it must have taken weeks but this was so cool and worth the watch. ty!
this is the most impressive base i have ever seen. doing all of this would be hard enough and yet you made it in SURVIVAL!! absolutely phenomenal job, loved the chase sequences.
Incredible base. I can't imagine how much work this must have taken, for the base, the fact that you got a seamoth so deep, and also your timing on the oxygen and stasis gun. Really like the music drop at 10:14 ,and of course the chase after. Also, i always thought reapers were scarier, but now i can say that Ghost leviathan are definitely more scary
I love the idea of the void not just being a cut off zone and actually having lore, I love the idea of another crew having got there somehow and having a base out there. Especially the text and such you put up. Would be absolutely terrifying to travel out into the void to go into some sort of lore base or something.
That was absolutely amazing. I've never seen someone create their own story within Subnautica, it was a thrill to watch! It very obviously took a long time to make, and I'm BEYOND impressed. VERY well done!
This is insanely good man! Can't praise this cinematic tour enough! Like you can clearly see how much planning went in every step. The key things that impressed me the most about your planning is that you calculated the time it would take your oxygen tank to deplete and made the base at such a distance where you end up having barely any oxygen in the end which makes it look like you barely avoided death and also the timing of when to use statis rifle was quite important and you did it amazingly well! The environment building was amazing too like the seamoth not having the depth upgrades adding to the vibe of 'abandoned base' and the overall engineering of the bases was quite visually appealing as well!
Wow... that ain't just a huge building effort, you even created story around all of it. That's tremendously impressing - besides the fact how coldblooded you swim with Leviathans. I love this game, but you brought it to a new level. Thank you!
This is the coolest Subnautica vid I have ever SEEN! I wish I'd recorded my reaction. I think the 'NO F-KING WAY' count was well over 10. I've paid good folding money for movies which were not HALF this good. Just superb!
Inside the base getting close up of ghost leviathan swimming is also a good way to get to know their true size as ghost leviathans especially the void ones are massive a lot bigger then even the Statue of Liberty.
Damaged due to weak hull strength of -275.4403! Build reinforcements or remove weak parts (x471) I was wondering how you managed to make the base not flood despite this constant warning. Was not expecting an entire separate base to be the cause! Also, seeing the several multi-purpose rooms with reinforcements on them during your mad dash was entertaining to see. Funny how some lithium and titanium prevents glass 2000 meters away from breaking
This is a beautiful base design, if you could put bases on steam I would download this. The “do not go gently into that good night” was an amazing Dylan Thomas quote. And the absolute balls to make that 1.5k trip through pure hell was amazing. Love to see it. I would personally pee my pants when I saw the first ghost leviathan. How did you even build it so far down. I have many questions and much awe. Well done
Not sure how intentional this was, but the fact that seamoth was named Sunbeam II gives the idea the abandoned base could have been made by a Sunbeam survivor... somehow. I love that it was painted all black though, to blend in with the void environment. Either way, incredible work! The hull integrity of your dedication can withstand any depth
I just want to say that this has helped me so much with making a void base of my own, I absolutely love the biome level that you have. Good work man!!!
Long time fan and player of subnautica. Never once watched any subnautica content in youtube. This just popped up on my feed out of nowhere. Title piqued my interest. After watching can I just say, If i was to watch only 1 subnautica video in my lifetime, well, this was it, and I'm not at all disappointed. Absolute legend.
Pretty impressive, especially like the abandoned base and chase portion. Also might try and make biome specific aquariums, artificial cove tree was a cool idea.
This honestly feels like it could be a research facility for Subnautica if the game had gone differently, where there used be a crew of people but now there's only one. Genuinely though this is an amazing build, and having all those Ghosts around you seems like it could be terrifying, but relaxing at the same time. Like, relaxing cause they're pretty, until you remember that its only a few inches of glass keeping you safe-
That was an adventure!! My nerves were all the way thru the roof just before you entered your base back to safety! That felt like an action thriller movie all compiled down to 14 mins, very well done! The base itself is amazingly huge and creatively flows from room to room. I can't imagine how hard it must be to find titanium in the world after that was finished xD
I appreciate that! I have to wonder if anything was added in the "living large" update resource-wise, because it was VERY slim pickins before, and I noticed more titanium showing up after. The crazy part is, I still have to leave some in the world here and there for Stalker teeth, lol.
This game scares me so bad I can barely play it. Got anxious and sweaty just watching this. Amazing work, I can only imagine the time it took. Super impressive!!
I applaud you for both bravery on being blind in the darkness and letting your Beacons lead you to safety as those leviathans chased you and second the time and deaths it probably took to accomplish such a base in the darkness of the deadzone. 👏
Finally! You hit a million. Look man, idk wtf compelled you to do this, but you inspired me to build my own Void Base on my Twitch. Nowhere near as good, but damn it did I do it. Congrats man! You are a madlad!
Appreciate it, dude! Cue the "supported by viewers like you" banner, lol. And I just saw yours, and it's awesome! You used a lot of the same strategies when building as I did (shoot at structure, build, repeat, mining, mining, and more mining), and that certainly brings back a lot of tiring memories, lol.
@@NJShadow Thanks man, really mean a lot! But yeah, I was hoping to go deeper but by the time I reached 2,000 I was SO exhausted.😂 That ladder was also a lag spike whenever I put it down.
@@Milk_Addict Yup! Just wait until the game stops saving altogether due to the memory being used up. That's what happened to me, and I would have tried to go deeper if the dang game hadn't prevented it! Keep doing your thing with your channel!
I've been playing this game since 2016 and every now and then I keep coming back to it and with each new playthrough, I end up making a bigger base than the previous one. That said, I've never even entertained the idea of building deep into the void. I've built some bases in some wild areas but those areas were always rich in resources, the void though, is completely empty and yet you built this work of art in that zone, you deserve absolute props for all the effort my guy, and thanks for the idea because in my next playthrough I'll start contemplating on building this, though there is no way I could match the narrative part you have going on here.
This was really well done, . You nailed all the elements of a great roller coaster ride complete with sphincter clenching at some points. The atmosphere you created here is great too. To me the flooded section was awesome because it added this sense of 'oh crap now what?' to the run. Great use of the music as well. A like and a sub for your excellent work, I hope you do more like this.
I don't often comment on videos, but this was amazing. Well done, and your hard work really shows. You are extremely creative, and I hope you continue to make more videos like this in other games.
This is the definition of dedication and art. I wish subnautica team hire you to make maybe a side quest with this horror touch, i love this game and makes me really happy to see things like this. You are amazing.
@@jamiegottlieb2595 Had to use the glitch where you swap between the repair tool and the PDA, and it allows you to repair the Seamoth while you drive. That was literally the only way I could get it down that deep.
Amazing! 🐟 The best video I've ever seen. My favorite part was when you escaped from the abandoned base while fighting the ghost leviathan and you looked so calm! I'm still in shock... Good job buddy!
That was... really cool. More like a short film than a base tour. Actually managing to build THAT deep is really impressive. How did you manage to get the seamoth down there without it exploding?
Wow, im baffled, this has got to be the best base I’ve seen, it even has a little lore. You are very talented and creative and such an inspiration, I never really comment a lot, but this is insane, wow, so impressed, I definitely will give you a like and subscribe.
