I know it's not a 1:1 correlation between online and otb Elo, but damn we really just watched Pineapple Man annihilate a whole flock of international masters. Like he just murdered a bunch of Levys as if it were an actual walk in the park.
10:40 The difference between Austrian economics and Keynsian economics is that they are basically opposites. The Austrians are disciples of Friedrich Hayek, and have similar views to the Chicago school (which skews conservative on the role of the government; it says that government can't provide demand-side stimulus to the larger economy for a variety of reasons). Keynsians are disciples of John Maynard Keynes, and think that government demand is "real" demand, just like any other kind. I hope it's clear I'm vastly oversimplifying. Also, anyone who says anything about economics on the internet, no matter how true or false, will immediately be torn apart by wolves, and commenting on the two major competing schools of thought will mean the wolves are armed with lasers, so I'm curious how this comment is received.
500k games in 25 years is around 55 games per day on average. I get my chess fix with about 10 games per day, but I can totally see serious chess players playing 5x as much as me.
5 hours a day is a LOT. Especially for adults who have other commitments. Perhaps it’s not a lot if you don’t have a job or other interests/responsibilities.
In simplest terms: Austrian economics is let the market do it's thing without government intervention. Highs and the lows, just let it ride. Keynesian is where government steps in during the lows to boost aggregate demand. Deficit spending is a big part of Keynesian economics
500,000 Games of Chess, if every match was Blitz just for easy numbers sake. It's over 1041 consecutive days being played in a row. 2082 days if the games go the full six minutes. To think that I thought 10 days played on MW2 was alot back in the day. 😂
it's only 109 games a day to get to a million games in 25 years or roughly 11 hours of full length 3 minutes games every day or 3 hours 40 minutes every day of full 1 minute bullet games.
Guys go wild about his playing time, but have you ever had a look at the hours in steam etc? I have friends that have 3k hours in a game that was released a year ago..
Yeah let’s just go straight for Wild Cock. Why mess around. Representing of course Hikaru’s uncompromising fighting spirit and his determination to alway push it for the win like you see those in the cockfights. I hope I got the spelling right.
