I think it's very hard to collect real data from lots of people in Tanzania. Lots of people don't have records of how they made their fortunes so hard to trace how rich they are.
There is a common denominator amongst all these tycoons. They are closely interwoven with politics,or the political systems. And somehow, bolstered their fortunes using the political infrastructure, at their disposal. I am not undermining their prowess in business. But without some political milage, I doubt if they could go this far.A good number of them may turn out to be fronts.Fronting for politicians.
According to forbes the richest person in Tanzania is Mo Dewji, Rostam Azizi na Bakheresa so how come this two are so far on your list, do research again
Forbes did not mention the family of richest people in Tanzania, mentioned the richest people...even the richest family in the world is not jeff bezos,or musks or gates......have your research done before commenting.
I'm not from TZ but in the US if the companies are publicly traded on a stock exchange then they're open to public scrutiny because if you're going to invest your money in them the company has a fiduciary responsibility to fully report finances, top personnel, profits and losses holding back only secrets that competitors in the marketplace could use. Additionally, if a company gets certain kinds of government subsidies or grants they're reporting requirements become public. Also a lot of privately held firms employ press agents to expose them to the public to improve their public perception.
Result of Colonialism. It can remain that forever if you dont do anything. In Britain a Beaufort even today is more wealthy than a smith on average alltough it is 1000 years ago that the french normans and bretons took over britain. So much happened but still the pattern is there.
Maybe you could properly pronounce the country and city names of the countries you are highlighting? That would be showing respect to the people of Tanzania. And also that you did your research well.
Indeed it's end time.. I don't see owners of beer breweries Company in the list instead you find musician. Also those who own churches are not in the list like Apostles and Bishops then you find politician.
Tanzania government look after themselves. They have no plan for the poor and millions are marginalised. That's why there is so much support for groups like Al Shabab, who create havoc in Mozambique.
Whenever there is massive and excessive wealth for a poor country like Tanzania, CRIME HAS BEEN COMMITTED, Drugs, Money laundering and Tax Evasion coupled in many ways illegal offshore activities.
Duh!!!! Kwamba Christopher Gachuma, Zacharia bus, Kitana leo wanazidiwa pesa na msaniii wa juziiiiiiiiiii!!!!!! Au matajiri wa Dar sio wa Tanzania sijaelewa bado kabisa

Richest people in Tanzania are not Black. That’s all this fool has to say. Tired of seeing Indian and Arabs. Suppose it’s better than seeing Whites but to the Black people there must be odd seeing foreigners own most of the industries despite whether or not they are “Tanzanians”. Seem like this fool was saying that all the Black multimillionaires stole money while being a politician.
A couple of things: I only visited TZ for a month this summer/TZ winter. So, take this stream of consciousness for what it's worth. It doesn't surprise me that the top financial list leaders aren't native TZ or, if they are are from the public sector (single party politics breeds corruption/sweetheart deals), because the folks on the list represent capital investment that has reaped a financial payback and TZ doesn't have a deep well of natural resources (except the wildlife which is it's core asset at this point) which would generate generational wealth internally. The lack of whites on the list makes sense because TZ doesn't have a population of colonial settlers compared with any other African nation on the continent. Lastly, besides tourism, agriculture could be a major export GDP growth engine if it becomes mechanized to increase crop yields per Kilometer squared making the agricultural worker and land yields competitive internationally - climate is right. Current GDP growth mirrors population growth so TZ shouldn't get too puffed up about this growth. I don't think anybody here is a fool and trying to make a legitimate point by denigrating others only makes your comments look weak. You can and should do better because it sounds like you give A F.
Sorry to hurt your feelings. Maybe the blacks should educate themselves more and will be on this list eventually. Indians tend to dominate because we focus on education, saving, and investing. Hey, at least Tanzania is getting better because of these people.
Who cares the richest of the Man is in the heart not material things. Material can vanish. Their some millionaires who are broke today!!! Hit 1.2billion US Jackpot end up with no dime.
Bakhresa is no longer the richest person in Tanzania, but those who aren't updated still think he's the richest person in Tanzania. Similarly, Bill Gates is no longer the richest person in the world, but those who aren't updated still think he's the richest person in the world.
Bakhresa's family sons are very educated Cambridge University graduates. Nowadays most of these clever people don't declare their true wealth because of tax evasion. I never believed who's the richest person in the world it's all con.
My fellow Tanzanians, ndugu zangu I don't know tuko na mtazamo sawa?. What similarities mnaona kwenye hiyo video or vitu or watu gani wanajirudia sana au wako wengi sana? Ndiyo maswali yakujiuliza. A black man land, with darked blacked out skin with the largest population but still foreign( so called 3rd generation Tanzanians) faces upfront. It just doesn't fit right with me.
Kikwete had started touching few notes in his regime... Unlike Dewj's, Mbowe's and Lowassa's families which even supported Nyerere's politics revolutional movements with their wealth.
It's hard to believe that the abdul's family(Diamond) is richer than ASAS family, mufuruki's family,Kikwete's and The ringo's family(Derm electrons group)🤷
@@Ndayi14 but its ridiculous. You wont find the reverese in Asia, Europe or America.. How many more times will africans reamain the slaves of the slaves. Its whaz aung sans father in burma also said after the british brought in indians as middle men. Slaves to the slaves
🤔Interesting but as a Tanzanian I know Bakhresa is the wealthiest man in Tanzania. All the above mentioned individuals can’t reach what Bakhresa has achieved for the time being. I have no idea where you got these figure from but I say what I know. Thank you though

I am big fan of Tanzania and I didn't know most of the content regarding the movers and shakers of this emerging E. African nation but, is it too much to ask an editor or producer to prevent the Anglo-centric reader to NOT butcher the country's name as well as most of the family names reported? The facts are very interesting and timely but, the pronunciation butchery is a big distraction.
@@slayer5097 i guess I'll take your word for it but, I have to point out there are a lot (most) of Americans who don't know who their state's Senator is let alone who is the richest person in their state. I guess what I'm saying is that since you live in TZ I will give you the benefit of the doubt vs me , an American visitor with relatives who live in TZ but, you could actually make a real point by presenting some third party evidence (and I honestly don't know what that would be in TZ; a press report, TZ Who's Who??) that says one of the families on the list really lives in Kenya or Moqambique...I would prefer some evidence or, link to another post rather than a blanket statement without any backup.
@@jeffandreson You are very right and I love your perspective. I too am a native here in Tz. Honestly, though I believe the richest of folks are the gov't officials.
