You're exactly right. I have a Samsung Galaxy S5 phone that you just open the case and put whatever size microSD card you want into it. I have a lot of repair and instructional videos on my phone. Also, when I fix something around the house (e.g., central air conditioner) I can make a video of how to fix/clean/repair it - and have it on my phone if I need to refer to it in the future. A phone without ability to add a memory card is just an attempt to force you to use cloud type storage systems, which are no where near as convenient as having the movies/photos/data on a memory card in your phone.

Yeah, cool… Only thing is that they don't exist yet. The 2TB limit is purely theoretical. The max available for SD (non-micro) is 512GB, 256GB for micro SDs. And these are very new. Few months ago the max was 200GB. The main problem is miniaturisation.
