*"There are 3 stages of Spitfire, first Battle of Britain Teaboo fantasy (Mk1/Mk2/Mk2b), second, actual try hard mode (Mk9, Mk5) and then holy shit is it even a spitfire at this point (Griffon)"* ~ Space Cat Also maybe Typhoon/Tempest Experience next?
That Belkan War references at the start is Golden, then the slow buildup of "Liberation to Gracemeria" with the Ace Combat intro, and then the Charles "Plan" meme lmao and we have Prez, top tier video my guy!
Ah yes, the Spitfire. One of the oldest primary WW2 fighters, second only to Bf.109 from 1935. The Spitfire might not be the fastest or the most agile, nor does it have the strongest armament, but it just feels *right* to fly. Handles like a lady and works like a charm. Probably one of my favourite fighters overall, I don't pick a single favourite, but rather 1 per nation. And Spitfire is sure as hell one of them. Edit: 2:41 is a beautiful showcase of what I mean, it just works. I have 2 videos of similar mood, "Spitfire in a dogfight" being my personal favourite. And yes, I have 3 "favourite"s in 2 and a half sentences, what about that?
If you get a few mates together and use them in formations, taking out targets in pairs you can seriously mess up the enemy team We’ve had a few games where we’ve just about all managed to get in formation when our entire team has gone and died in the first few minutes with the four of us left to deal with the entire enemy team and while we’ve never brought a game back we’ve always mopped up a damn good number of the enemy by the time it’s over, it doesn’t help the enemy when they all boom and zoom from 9000ft while we stick to a service ceiling of 6000ft but usually never go higher than 4000ft meaning that most of them would break apart (and that has killed a few when they’ve tried getting us) and the ones that do get through will inevitably get picked off in unlucky positioning by our pairs, or they won’t be able to pull up in time depending on the map
@@Rodri_man544 with all due respect to I-16 as a rather revolutionary design, it was already outdated by 1939, and thus being replaced in 1941 (for example, 16 GIAP was rearming from I-16s to MiG-3s in early june 1941). And after there was enough Yaks, LaGGs/Las and/or MiGs, I-16s were switched from. Bf 109 and Spitfire are the oldest designs to have made it through the whole war while remaining effective
Ah FINNALY! My beloved Spits! I love you! This video just shows how powerful this plane is. Thounsands kills, few deaths, winning 4 v 1, winning all dogfights, even Zero should be afraid of turnfighting with that monster. I am not afraid of saying that this plane won the war.
Also a small note on your description review: if you're having problems with italians, use more vertical maneuvers (at least loops) to drain them of their energy. While close in high-speed turning, italians suffer significantly from worse handling at low speeds. And on the opposite, that's one of spitfire's trump cards, so you'll get a far easier shot at any italian plane that lost its energy. And I don't think another comment will be bad for the algorithm gods
This aircraft will always be my favorite fighter of all time. My great-granddad was one of the few Indian Spitfire pilots who fought in WW2, and later in the 1947 Indo-Pak war. He flew the FR.XIVE fighter recon and the pretty rare PR.XI photo recon. The sound of the engine, the elliptical wings, just everything about her is beautiful.
Absolute beauty of a plane (in my opinion ofc), absolute masterpiece of a song (AC7 ost is very gud imo), and last but not least, an absolute banger of a vid.
Why dont people play the spit, its literally the ultimate plane It climbs as much as a 109 Turns really good, only beat by japanese planes Only cons is that it doesnt outrun american planes, wep is limited and the guns are kinda strange
About speed. Try 115% mixture bellow 1000m and 120 at 500m. MK V easily go 550kmh and turn with constant 300kmh at those setting. The low level speed really help it carry against japanese plane as you at least have speed advantage to get the drop on them and out run before they try to swarm you. Also where F Mk IX only reach 1550 hp at max set MK V Reach 1750 HP bellow 1000 m alt. Also the flaps on MKV are somehow stronger being able to resist up to 350kmh where as mk ix just rip above 270kmh
Id say it was the repair cost but they've been kinda fixed now, switching to a rank and BR based system, repair costs are still high, but not as high as before. I think the main reason is because Britain just isnt interesting to the general playerbase, and most newer players who play see all the 109s winning and switch to that, just my best guess, and the speed thing, outrunning American planes is kinda negated by the altitude advantage you gain from climbing, and the guns are alright now too when its not stock.
These videos deserve more views. I can't help but be in the mood to fly these planes in war thunder as soon as I finish watching the videos. Keep up the good work and looking forward to your future vids!
Fly for assists. Its tempting to use your maneuverability to park on an enemy tail and pour in enough fire to get the kill: dont do it. (Unless you're in a 1 on 1 of course. Then definitely do it) Get quick hits, and stay agile, putting a burst into anything that presents itself. Or, abuse your insane climb rate, and swoop in and out of furballs at will; picking off anything that is on a teammate's tail and is distracted.
Although I'm an American, no airplane fills me with so much giddy joy to look at as a Supermarine Spitfire. If Reginald Mitchell was told his creation would still be dazzling aviation lovers to this day, he'd probably think you were crazy. Lovely video!
P-51 and P-40 Warhawk hold a special place in my heart, as they were the first planes I got over 4 kills in (also my grandfather flew a P-40). But Spitfire is a very close second behind the tied favorite.
what i love about the spit is that the moment a you bring the fight onto your terms you've won. the moment the fight slows down and goes one circle, against almost any aircraft, the spitfire wins.
I really liked this video lol, I found it when I was looking for an idea to make an edit about Spitfire 4.7 so I think I found what I needed hahaha thanks one day i will be like you
My favourite spitfires are the Vc/trop and the LF mk 9. The Vc because of the 4 20 mm guns that pack a wallop and the underdog effect plus people tend to underestimate you, and the LF mk 9 because is one the the best pre griffon spit. It's decently fast climbs like a monster and the armament is just right.
To effectively survive an encounter against a spitfire is to boom and zoom in any aircraft you're in or if you're in a plane with jacked climbing rate like most of the German fighters you can out climb spitfires
@@Adrirenn true lol but spitfires are heavily reliant on energy fighting if you're higher than a spitfire boom and zoom they won't have enough energy to climb towards you
@@nooriginalusername8052 if you're both energy fighters but one of you can do a turn in 50% the time you need to, its already decided when the other gonna die
@@Adrirenn started using the spitfires and oh boy I absolutely disintegrate the opposition especially with the spitfire mk Vc I usually let the enemy pilot bleed any energy they have and launch the 20 mm teabags and watch them fall as a ball of fire the most reasons I die is due to other pilots suprise attacking me,doing head on or just facing the Japanese planes
my favourite spitfire is mk.Ia version, 15 sec rotation speed(~400km/h 19G arcade/11-9G realistic) and high speed, but oil overheating and 8 7.7mm guns make this aircraft slower(becouse yoy need to set 80% engine power and wait) and bad at killing tanks, only full no-armour tanks can be killed
As a F4U player i think that theres no need to humiliate that f4 he only had to option head on or dive to get energy and escape, but he tried to dogfight a plane that the entire design is to dogfight. the entire doctrine of the F4U is to countermeasure the dogfight and just do Boom and zoom, and you can tell this just for the format of the wings, when i see a inexperienced player just use the 7.7mm machine guns for some extreme saltyness. for me the spitfire is one of the most easily plane to play. i once took a 3 minute dogfight with a donkey, you dont need to overheat by climbing. by the way put the hipanos on steath ammo and try to snipe instead of spreying, they allways gonna think that you are some hacker
I didn't want to humiliate the dude, I just wanted to put my Yandere WSO Waifu in the video. And also, I like using tracer ammo because I want the enemy to know they're going to die :D Edit: I also play the F4U, so I understand what you mean, and I wasn't able to aim during that section
