I was raised Christian but couldn't really defend my faith. I had questions thrown at me by my Muslim classmates that I could not answer. It's been around 7 months since I first started watching David Wood, Cp, Sam Shamoun, and You. Now I have a 11-0 debate win streak and close to converting an muslim. Im only 13, but when I grow up, I want to be an apologist. Thanks for teaching me about both Christianity and Islam and strengthening my faith.

i was a muslim, and i got my understanding of trinity not from people, coz they tried and tried with a lot of analogies, or explanations, examples, but still i didnt understand. so then I asked God to explain it to me, then I could understand trinity with no problem, as long as Jesus was not in the picture. The Father, The Son (as The Word in John 1:1), and Holy Spirit. But I struggled a lot to see Jesus as God. Then I asked God to explain who Jesus is, first he showed me Rev 21:22-23; to show the relation between The Lamb (The Man Jesus) and God; and when it came to the question is Jesus God? then I got the answered in Matthew11:4-6 (Jesus was referring to Isaiah35:4-6) what Jesus said in verse 6 that made me understood and make everything that i had heard before clicked and form the whole picture;

Jesus will burn people alive. Matthew 3:11: "... he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost, and with fire:" Jesus teaches his followers to mutilate themselves. Matthew 5:29-30: "And if thy right eye offend thee, pluck it out, and cast it from thee: for it is profitable for thee that one of thy members should perish, and not that thy whole body should be cast into hell. And if thy right hand offend thee, cut it off, and cast it from thee: for it is profitable for thee that one of thy members should perish, and not that thy whole body should be cast into hell." Jesus says he's here to spread violence, not peace. Matthew 10:34: "Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword." Jesus says your own families are your enemies. Matthew 10:35-36: "For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law. And a man’s foes shall be they of his own household." Jesus uses an evil demon to cast out devils. Matthew 12:27: "And if I by Beelzebub cast out devils, by whom do your children cast them out? therefore they shall be your judges." Jesus is possessed by a devil. Mark 5:15: "And they come to Jesus, and see him that was possessed with the devil..." Jesus degrades a poor woman asking for help by calling her a dog. Mark 7:27: "But Jesus said unto her, Let the children first be filled: for it is not meet to take the children’s bread, and to cast it unto the dogs." Jesus teaches his followers to commit suicide. Mark 9:45: "And if thy foot offend thee, cut it off: it is better for thee to enter halt into life, than having two feet to be cast into hell, into the fire that never shall be quenched:" Jesus is apparently made out of the Father's semen. 1 John 3:9: "Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God." Jesus gets kidnapped by the devil himself and is tempted by the devil. Luke 4:5: "And the devil, taking him up into an high mountain, shewed unto him all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time." Jesus commands his follows to murder all of his enemies. Luke 19:27: "But those mine enemies, which would not that I should reign over them, bring hither, and slay them before me." But proceed to tell me how these are taken out of context, Christians ;) I look forward to seeing the mental gymnastics you use to avoid actually following these violent, barbaric teachings. Repent from your idolatry and follow God. Also, it is hilarious how the Old Testament has so many colorful verses like Psalms 137:9, which says: "Happy shall he be, that taketh and dasheth thy little ones against the stones." Crazy how the Bible literally teaches infanticide, and let's not forget how Jesus graped his own mom when she was twelve and commanded racist genocide.

As a muslim, I must admit that Logic showed respect that isn't evident in any other Christian debates. Well done. I do not mean to disrespect Logic here, but his argument is not valid for the following reason: Logic's argument is only valid on the assumption that the Quran does not imply that parts of the Torah or Injeel are corrupted, but that all of it is. The3Muslims did not provide the following verse with invalidates Logics argument: "O People of the Scripture, why do you mix [i.e., confuse] the truth with falsehood and conceal the truth while you know [it]?" - 3:71 The implication of this verse shows that the scriptures had some truth and some falsehood, meaning that parts of the scriptures were altered and corrupted.
@JordanX767
@JordanX767 Год назад
@@agp4580 The reason that doesn’t square, despite your hopefulness for it to, is because the Quran also claims to confirm the scriptures that came before. So does that mean the whole scriptures? Or just the claim of believing in “One God”? Because it turns out that no matter how much you deny it, Christians do believe in One God. The Quran is ignorant of History. It also claims to be a book that makes things clear, yet leaves out, in Allah’s cognitive dissonance, facts about History that are inconvenient to its narrative.
@ConsideringPhlebas
@ConsideringPhlebas Год назад
@@agp4580 Q. 3:71 has nothing to do with scriptural corruption. The verb there is labasa, which means 'to clothe' and thus they 'clothe/conceal the truth with falsehood.' This is just to do with concealing the truth, which the Quran accuses People of the Book of, particularly J3ws, numerous times.

Let me answer your question then. The bible has DEFINITELY been altered there’s no doubt, there are also tons of different bibles that say different things. The Quran CANNOT be corrupted because there is a line of transmission that you can actually go look for yourself dating back to the time of muhammed, so we know there were no alterations. The same cannot be said for the bible. Another thing that people misunderstand is what Hadiths mean a Hadith is not the Quran, it is the words of muhammed, there are strong Hadiths and weak Hadiths. Strong Hadiths (much like the Quran) have a reliable line of transmission while weak Hadiths have questionable lines of transmission meaning there MIGHTVE been corrupted and alteration so we take those with a grain of salt and don’t actually think them to be accurate words of muhammed. The bible has no line of transmission and many alterations so we cannot say it hasn’t been corrupted, if there was a change it can be corrupted (much like weak Hadiths) we should take it with a grain of salt and not actually believe them to be the actual words written how many thousands of years ago. I dare u to test the “transmission”. Tell someone something specific and write it down then hide it. Tell them to repeat what was said and so on to 10 ppl and revisit that 1 mo later. Have them repeat what was originally said. No cheating. It’s literally nothing more than gossip. Hearsay is so unreliable that it’s thrown out of courts all thruout the world, yet here u are pretending like it’s bullet proof. Hardly. Fun fact: “lord” in Ancient Greek is κύριος (kurios), which means “lord”, “master”, “ruler”, “sir” etc. The term “lord” is used for people all over the Bible, Abraham in Genesis 23:11 for example. So the phrase “lord Jesus Christ” from the Bible doesn’t contradict the Quran and islamic theology. This is a perfect example of “twisting scripture” with your “tongue” aka language as the Quran says: *_”And indeed, there is among them a party who alter the Scripture with their tongues”_* (Quran 3:78)

But sam only called out the heresey of don. He also called him a heretic (unborn implying not saved) He says Sam bashed his name but really Sam gave his opinion. Just like don. Don was nicer about it but don quickly forgets what he was saying to allen parr and other Christians but thinks its OK to cry about it when it returns to him. I’m noticing that whenever Avery is asked a question, whether it’s be about a verse, or a specific answer to a specific question, Avery gives that answer. But the response always tends to lead towards, “oh, okay. But how do we know if it’s authentic?”. I noticed this when Avery was asked where Jesus said that he is God. Avery gave that verse, (among the many that there are if I might add), and the response jumped immediately to, “yeah but can we trust the reliability of the Bible”. The same thing happened when Avery quoted from an Islamic source about the change of the text of scripture, Rami disagreed with him and and when he finished with his response to Avery, he put a comment on the screen from the chat that said”#1 prove that he said that.” So from what I see, it’s a constant theme, Avery, in this case the Christian is asked question, and he came prepared with a thoughtful answer. And instead of accepting that answer, there is an attempt to poke at the integrity of the clear answers Avery gave. I’m not saying just believe everything you are fed, but when you ask specific questions and you are given specific answers in response, and they are from Your book, the next step I think should be to see there is an issue with your text.

Godlogic claims that the Quran doesn’t theologically affirm the modern “Bible”. While the Quran explicitly confirms that the Bible is corrupt (2:79, 3:78, Jeremiah 8:8) and that it’s a “criterion”, “master” and “guardian” over it, that doesn’t mean that it doesn’t confirm truths that are contained within it, like Muhammad ﷺ being foretold. The Quran claims the following in 7:157: *_”Those who follow the Messenger, the unlettered prophet, whom they find written in what they have of the Torah and the Gospel, who enjoins upon them what is right and forbids them what is wrong and makes lawful for them the good things and prohibits for them the evil and relieves them of their burden and the shackles which were upon them. So they who have believed in him, honored him, supported him and followed the light which was sent down with him - it is those who will be the successful.”_* Can this be found in the modern “Bible”? Under all of the layers of mistranslation, mislocations of biblical place names, scriptural misinterpretation etc, yes-we do indeed find this. Here’s are just few examples: *A GREAT NATION FROM ISHMAEL:* The Bible records that Abraham prayed that Ishmael might live before God. God ACCEPTS Abraham’s prayer by saying He has “Heard it” and says that He will make a “great nation” out of Ishmael and his descendants. [Genesis 17:18-20] This is confirmed by the Quran in surah 2:127-2:128. According to the Bible, Ishmael’s descendants are the Arabs [in Ezekiel 27:21, “Kedar”, a son of Ishmael]. *PROPHET LIKE MOSES FROM THE “BRETHREN” OF ISRAEL:* In Deuteronomy 18:15, Moses speaks to the nation of Israel in the singular (just like in Deut 23:7) and foretells the coming of a Prophet like himself who will arise from their BROTHERS. Israel is never his own brother anywhere in the “Bible”, so this is clearly talking about the other nations descending from Abraham, in which case the Ishmaelites are included (see Genesis 16:12). So based on this, we know the prophet like Moses will not be an Israelite, but most likely an Ishmaelite seeing as the “Great nation” promise to Ishmael has yet to be fulfilled at this point. Also, Deuteronomy 18:18 says the “Lord” will put His words into this prophet’s mouth. The Quran is direct Word of God, making the Quran a literal 100% fulfillment of this prophecy. *NO PROPHET LIKE MOSES EVER AROSE AGAIN IN ISRAEL:* Deuteronomy 34:10 further confirms that the prophet like Moses can’t be an Israelite, because it clearly states that no prophet like Moses ever arose again in Israel. This was said after the death of Moses. So any prophet after Moses, including Jesus, is excluded from being the “prophet like Moses” in Deuteronomy 18:15 and 18. *PROPHECY OF A LIGHT FROM THE LAND OF ISHMAEL:* In Deuteronomy 33:2, Moses is shown a vision before his death. First he’s shown the Lord’s light coming forth from Mount Sinai (reference to the Moses and the Torah), and then to Seir (which is located in Judah, a prophecy of Jesus and the Injeel), and then to Paran (land of Ishmael/Arabia, Genesis 21:21) where the “Lord” is said to come with “10,000 holy ones” and a “fiery law”. “10,000” number is a prophecy of the companions that Muhammad ﷺ led to conquer Mecca after the hijra (see Sahih al-Bukhari 4276) and the “fiery law” is the Quran. This would be the fulfillment of the “Great nation” promise to Ishmael, and ever since then, Islam expanded across the Arabian peninsula and the world over. *GENTILE “LAWGIVER” FROM THE “VALLEY OF BAKA”, FROM THE “HOUSE OF GOD”:* “Baka” is the ancient name of Mecca according to the Quran in 3:96, and the Quran says baka is a blessed place which is “a guidance for the worlds”. Psalm 84 speaks about a “valley” called “Baka” where the “House of God” is located and a spring (Zamzam comes to mind), as well as a parched land where people do “pilgrimage”. Bible scholars don’t know for sure where the “Valley of Baka” is, and it remains a mystery in biblical scholarship. But its obvious that it can only be Mecca, as David himself dwelt in Arabia according to Psalm 120:5, and prayed that the God may raise a “lawgiver” among them in Psalm 9:20 (see LXX). In Psalm 84:6, some translations like the Septuagint say that the “lawgiver” or “teacher” will grant blessings here. This is a fulfilled prophecy. *THE PROPHET LIKE MOSES IN THE “GOSPELS”:* The gospels prove there was an expectation of a unique prophetic figure who was not the Christ. In John 1:20-21, “John the Baptist” is asked if he’s “Elijah”, the “Christ”, or “the Prophet”. He denied being all three. In John 7, people are debating whether Jesus is “the Christ” or “the Prophet”, and the Pharisees in John 7:52 say, “Search the scriptures, for the prophet does not arise from Galilee” (see NLT footnote). Jesus started his ministry in Galilee, so he can’t be “the Prophet”. *ANOTHER COUNSELOR AFTER JESUS:* In John 14:16, Jesus states that the “Father” will send *_another_* Counselor after him, the Greek work used here is “allon”, an inflected form of “allos” which means “another man, another of the same kind”. Since Jesus was flesh, man and a prophet, and was referred to with the same Greek word “Counselor” in John 1:21, then this “Counselor” will also be flesh, man and a prophet. This same Counselor is also foretold in John 16:5-15. Christians claim this is talking about the “holy ghost”, but according to John 16:7, Jesus must _leave_ before this Counselor can come, and we know the “holy ghost” was already present in Luke 1:67, Luke 1:41 and John 20:17-22 while Jesus hadn’t yet ascended. Also, Jesus received the Holy Spirit in Mark 12:28, and gave the power of the Holy Spirit to the disciples in Mark 6:7. Plus, the “holy ghost” wasn’t of the “same kind” as Jesus- a man and a Prophet. Christians also point to John 14:17 about the “Counselor” dwelling in the disciples as proof that it’s the “holy ghost”, but John 14:19-20 debunks that and proves that to be metaphorical. This prophecy is also mentioned in 61:6 of the Quran.

Some thing I observed is one of the Muslim guys on the panel said that he was born Catholic and then became Christian, which is very telling to me that he does not understand what Catholicism is and that it is indeed Christian and also when his dive deep into Christianity. A lot of non-apostolic Christians who don’t know of the church fathers will often not understand what the proper doctrines are or even the proper canonization of scripture is. So this comment is mostly for the non-apostolic (Catholic or Orthodox) to research such things before you decide to engage in debates with nonbelievers or if you are stumbling because of nonbelievers feeding misinformation that on the surface seems to be rooted in “fact,” so don’t just take their word for it. @zachwalters5709 Год назад
@agp4580 Actually, I think 3:71 illustrates Avery's point even better than some of the other verses he brought up. The view that Avery is espousing (that the Quran merely states that the people of the book distort Allah's word with their words and interpretations and not the text itself) was actually the same view that was held by practically all Muslims for the first three centuries of Islam. The Quran is pretty clear that none can change God's words (in 6:115 for example), and it also says not to make distinctions between God's revelations (2:136). The earliest Muslims understood this. Al Razi (b. 865 AD), one of the most famous early Muslims scholars, often called the "imam of imams" stated: "How could there be any alteration in the Book whose words' sharpness has reached a great level of circulation in the East and in the West? … For no change can occur in a book that is well circulated among men. Every wise man can see that the alteration of the Bible was impossible for it was well circulated among men of different faith and backgrounds." Al Tabari (b. 838) stated:"the first one which came into existence, is the Torah, which is in the hands of the People of the Book...As to the Gospel which is in the hands of the Christians, the greater part of it is the history of the Christ, His birth and His life." (He specifically uses the Arabic Tawrat and Injil here, meaning he understands the books in the possession of the Jew and Christians to be the actual books identified in the Quran) Ibn Abbas (muhammed cousin and companion) stated: "They corrupt the word” means “they alter or change its meaning”, yet no one is able to change even a single word from any Book of God. The meaning is that they interpret the word wrongly." and "The word “Tahrif” [corruption] signifies to change a thing from its original nature; and there is no man who could corrupt a single word of what proceeds from God, so that the Jews and Christians could corrupt only by misrepresenting the meanings of the word of God." There are even more early Muslims who could be quoted saying the exact same thing. So now, with this understanding of early Islamic views on the subject, let us return to 3:71 "O People of the Book! Why do you mix the truth with falsehood and hide the truth knowingly?" It specifically states that they hide the truth KNOWINGLY. How could they know the truth if it was not passed down to them accurately? They clearly have access to the truth, they just purposefully distort it's meaning. Even Ibn Kathir understands this verse to mean that truth is within their books. In his Tafsir on this verse, he states: "[3:71]...by hiding what is in your Books about the description of Muhammad , while you know what you do." This clearly means that he does not understand the verse to mean that the people of the book corrupt their scripture. I would encourage you to reread all of the verses regarding "corruption" with this view in mind. It is what the early Muslims believed, and it's easy to see why. In the video, the amount of mental gymnastics these three guys had to go through to somehow come away understanding that Christians and Jews corrupt their scripture is simply ridiculous. The Quran CLEARLY states in Surah 6:115: "And the word of your Lord has been fulfilled in truth and in justice. None can alter His words, and He is the Hearing, the Knowing." Stop running from what the Quran is saying.

This debate was a pleasure to watch; conducted in an air of cordiality and respect. However, the mental gymnastics the 3 Muslims had to apply to even make partial sense of their arguments was absurd. "It could mean this" "It could mean that" - "It isn't necessarily referring to a physical book but (errors in) oral translation", it's all just circular reasoning on their part. Nonetheless, it's great that debates like this between Christians and Muslims can be conducted in such a civil matter. I don't think anything was settled here, and, the takeaway message I got from it was to agree to disagree. Enjoyed it all the same, and, if another one can be arranged, I'll make sure I tune in, Thanks for uploading.

If you can not point out the corruption then you have to denounce the whole scripture .. this is Islam gets stuck .. here is an analogy .. if you go to the doctor and say my little toe hurts the doctor will go straight to your little toe to heal it . . If you go to the doctor and say your foot hurts the doctor has find where the pain is to correct it ... Muslims are saying " my foot hurts " !!!. How can you correct a fault if you do not know where the actual fault is ????

And We sent, following in their footsteps,1 Jesus, the son of Mary, confirming that which came before him in the Torah; and We gave him the Gospel, in which was guidance and light and confirming that which preceded it of the Torah as guidance and instruction for the righteous. The Quran confirms the Torah and Gospel in other places. If I can recall, even Muhammad confirmed the Gospel that was brought to him. Regardless, there is no evidence of some alternative Gospel that was given to them. The earliest manuscripts confirm the exact Gospel that we have today..

The Holy Spirit wrote these books/letters. The assumption that all the apostles were illiterate is very presumptive. Most Jewish men took turns reading the scrolls in the temples. The Bereans were known for searching the scriptures for the truth. They weren’t illiterate. Also at the time, Hebrew, Greek and Aramaic were all common languages within this area of the Roman Empire.

Avery, you should have brought up the Holy Spirit and Pentecost, when they questioned the authorship of the Gospels. They hold to the position that the only reason that Muhammad, an unlearned person, could dictate the Quran to scribes, is because it is of divine origin. We believe that the reason the Apostles were able to do signs and wonders to get people to convert is because of the Holy Spirit. If the Holy Spirit could help the Apostles learn different languages in order to preach, then it could help them write in the manner they did.

what is causing confusion among the muslims is that the Jews back then always recite their oral law from the Sanhendrin Talmud which Muhammad himself dubbed his revelation from. Eg, the surah where Cain buried Abel through what he observed from a Raven bird that dug the ground and buried the other bird, and that of Dhul Quarnayn and the seven sleepers of Ephesus which were never in the Injil nor Taurat. So the Talmud muhammad heard was oral forgeries, exergerations etc which Muhammad too added into his revelation.

When he said “if I’m given revelation and the scribes change any of the word that is no longer my book or revelation” That was the perfect time to bring up the early Caliphate and their disagreements on the proper recitation of the Quran and their dispute over Zaids Quran. You went right back to trying to prove to them that the Quran is still an authority. I don’t get that strategy bro. I’m sorry. It doesn’t make sense to only further show them that their book is supposed to be the authority. Edit: Nah I get it. Let them dig their hole so when you come back for part two they can’t run from the claims they made. You’re doing right. 💪🏽
