Thanks for watching! Just a heads up, since I recorded this video, Creality informed me that they're releasing the K2 Plus on June 5th at 9AM, and they're giving the first 200 people ***50% OFF*** (and the next 500 people 40% off, which is still pretty damn good). Claim yours here: jle.vi/k2plus
Same. I also ordered the Eddy. Now I'm having second thoughts. It doesn't do Z-offset or Z-stop, which won't prevent a crash. It could create a mesh with spikes. I don't know if I'll have bobby time to fiddle with it and Klipper.
The keyboard button thing is something I wish I had on my printers. 8 or so buttons to start certain features I use all the time would be awesome! The kid friendly printers are awesome to see people covering too. My daughter is 3, and loves to watch the printers, and remove items from cooled build plates. She knows not to touch anything because it’s very hot. This mass product update video is awesome, and I hope you make more! I was one of the few to watch the sv08 upgrade video. 😂
The new hybrid vcore is actually not an AWD printer with additional A and B motors. The two additional ones are just for the Y axis. They are basically cartesian.
that stinger project looks amazing. id love to see a build video. id also love to see how reliable it is for print farms. you shold do videos like this once a month. maybe a "This month in 3d Printing" series talking about new releases and upcoming stuff like this. good work! cant wait to hear more about the filament grinder!
Once a month is a LOT considering I put out only 3-4 videos a month... I don't know if I want 25-33% of my channel to be 3D printing news instead of projects. BUT... I will look into doing one every quarter :)
G'day from Downunder.....id definitly like a 1/4ly outlook on new and or upcoming products for the 3d printing community.....i really like the fact you got me interested in the BTT Panda Touch..big cheers to you from a shut-in here in Australia
Need to cover Wham Bam's fire extinguishing system for FDM printers called The Cloud. Great idea. Discussed it with Wham Bam's owner at the Rocky Mtn Rep Rap Festival. A much needed safety idea for protecting your house / building. He told me about all of the testing they did before releasing the product, and I was impressed. Like their other products, they did put a lot of work into the development.
I appreciate this type of information video, I don't always see the new products coming out and want to stay updated! I like many others I'm sure want more options when it comes to multicolor printing! Love my Bambu Lab printers but I am very open to other printers with less waste. I hope there will be more AI interpretation for the filament loaded to tailor the purge amounts to the actual material being used! Or at least a transparency test sensor of some sort. He who gets that right, gets my money frankly. Thanks for the video, have a great week all!
I really want to support SOVOL. Is there an official store in the Philippines? Sad to say, our country is NOTORIOUS for scam sellers. I've been wanting a SOVOL since last year but bought another 3d Printer due to accessibility, fairly happy about it, but I really really want a SOVOL. Thanks.
Don't all spool refill systems descend from Richard Horne's Masterspool, which was deliberately intended as an industrywide open standard? "How has no company thought of this" regarding filament subscription service... uhm probably because it's not a very useful idea? You don't need a subscription for filament and you don't need a subscription for inkjet ink, you just buy them as you go depending on consumption. And if that's too much ongoing effort, then just buy more at once and leave some sealed up. Even shaver blade subscriptions though more justifiable since people have sort of a constant consumption of them, are more predatory than actually useful.
The problem is imagine printing a long slim item vertically. Immediately the problem becomes evident even if it doesnt just fail. If the part has to move, the part has to move. Outside of printing speed venchies and trinkets moving the potentially heavy part will be slower and will lead to lower quality.
@@BeefIngot you can slow down...... On tall thin parts. Usually, these parts won't have a good level of integrity either. The point was "it's the nicest built for a bed slinger". Cross gantry is the way to go for a higher purpose we know.
@@Le_Sixx You can slow down, but the point is, a bed slinger simply cannot be as fast as other options. Its an important point to make because many people incorrectly have said otherwise because they see some fancy speed boat test. I just want to make it clear, because that pervasive myth would let manufacturers go back to the crappy ender 3 clones of yonder.
My son and I are happy with the bambu mini, we are learning. But I am interested in upgrading for myself, but bambu won't say what is next and when. Should I wait and see, or go ahead and buy the older p1p or carbon.
Bambu just did a price drop announcement… so I’m betting we will hear about something new by early July… and a fourth quarter release date, in time for Xmass
Yeah, pretty overhated. I'd have split it into very short parts if it meant a completed build and more time dedicated to the design of community mods for that printer
I just find it funny how there are two types of people in the 3D print hobby those who like to print and those who like to work on printers. Can imagine buying a product just so I can spend more money on it to buy all new parts and then be happy with a custom printer just build one from scratch. Lol
In addition to the LDO Positron V3.2, don't forget the LEMONTRON! Open source, built in power supply, unibody design, integrated extruder, and relentless cost shaving!!!!
I want to say your channel is entertaining and informative. I am sorry you’re dealing with hate from people over things you can’t control. And you appear to handle it well. Ignoring comments is something I might recommend to you if they get to you too much.
Jon, filament subscriptions are definitely a thing but it's usually through Amazon fulfillment. Just wait for a filament to go on sale and there's usually further savings if you "Subscribe & Save", that's what Amazon calls it. I'm not sure if this is available in Israel but it's a thing here in the States.
Man this news about the k2 plus has made me kinda regret my SV08 pre order. Sounds like this might be cheaper if I can snag it at 50% off. Fuck I might piss off the wife and order it too
@@EngineeringAddictionYes and no. They aren't the end all be all like many parrot but they are great printers. They made huge waves in the market with their launch but very comparable and even some better printers have been released since then. And most of them are even cheaper as well. I love my three P1S combos but I also have an SV08 on the way and I'm gonna try to snag a K2 plus combo tomorrow morning at the half off pre-order price. Even with Bambu's lowest prices to date with the current sale going on, the half off the K2 is actually like $20 CAD (plus I think $65 CAD for shipping with the Bambu so $85 CAD total price difference) cheaper than the P1S combo, but is 350³, and has a heated chamber too, plus all the other comparable features of the Bambu if you look at them side by side
to be honest pretty great kexcelled is using bambu spool dimensions because if every manufacturer adapts we can use every refill with every spool already was hoping for this so hope it becomes reality
Got home and opened the box and what do I see a brand new MONOPRICE select mini 3D v2. I did a little research on it and find that it is a little over ten years old. I did the trial printout of the g code cat program and it works just fine😊 now I just need a computer or maybe because as I read further in the manual I see it has WiFi capability and iso and android compatible 😂
Great video. Re usable spools should have been around 5 years ago, such a waste of plastic. Would much rather be buying refills. Integreate some bearings into the reusable spool would be cool!
Just ordered Sovol's old 2 spool dryer, got a good deal on it, only $39 on a flash sale through Amazon, It's fairly dry in a my basement domicile that I live and tinker from, so I haven't been worrying about moisture too much, But, I have some PETG coming, and should probably have a dryer on hand just in case. And at this price, it beats out a cheap food dehydrator that I'd only get a single spool into anyway, provided the price isn't an indicator of reliability. And in the off chance someone still hasn't heard, Bambu doing an anniversary sale starting tomorrow, A1 Mini for $199 an absolute steal. I got mine a little over a week ago, and their offering to refund to a giftcard the difference on printers people bought and received on or after may 20th, and ordered before June 5th. So, those of us who bought a printer right before they decided to drop a monster sale on us. Just wish they were also dishing out for other things bought that are also going on sale. :/ woulda held off on my last filament order.
@@thenextlayer Not expecting it to be amazing honestly, if it can keep a couple of spools from getting waterlogged without burning the house down, good enough. I don't live in a super humid area, so I am banking on it just working well enough to maintain a couple spools as their being used. And if it doesn't work out, amazon is usually pretty good about returns. If it really sucks I'll just save up for that 4 spool Sunlu one that seems to be pretty well liked. [not sure where I'll put it, but I'll cross that bridge when I get to it lol]
BTT releases some great ideas but I feel like sometimes the execution lacks a bit, Panda lights are amazing, eventhough you have can't run the normal lights. However the panda jet still has SLS powder in the inner parts and panda touch and the P1S camera can't be used at the same time which is a big problem for me so its catching dust until they both work
What do you mean about the P1S camera not being able to be used with the PT at the same time? Like does your PT just stop working when your turn on the cam? Also, there were some early Panda Jets with a bit of SLS powder but it just blew out on first use and that was taken up with the supplier so all units should be free from it now.
@@looxonline I think as long as the panda touch is plugged in you can't connect to the camera, the panda touch does not stop working but you just can't use the camera at all, as for the panda jet, I got the bad first batch used a compressor to blow out the dust but still got dust while printing so maybe I'll try it again in the future when I want to do some printing with the fast and ludicrous mode but for now I'm done with the hassle
@@xIsouLcruSHca That is not right. The camera and the touch are completely unrelated. The touch uses the USB port for power but that port has no data connection so the touch can't really affect data. It may be that your AP board in the P1S has a fault that causes it to have a problem when there is power drain over the USB port. To test this theory you could connect the panda touch using an external, 2A USB supply and see if your camera comes back. There is no way otherwise that the panda touch could ever affect the camera at all.
The slobbering over Sovol is a bit over the top. Their customer service is pure crap…you don’t mention that. My SV07 Plus purchased in late February, went down in April and Sovol was immediately notified. This is June. 10 days ago Sovol told me they were sending a power supply. As of today, USPS is still waiting for the package. Absolutely nothing has happened. I’m sure they take great care of you, but that means little to the rest of us. If you look around, it doesn’t take long to find people in my position… Screwed and at the mercy of people who don’t care. I would have loved to finish the video, but if I had to listen to any more slobbering over Sovol, I was going to puke.
@@thenextlayer I would be remiss if I claimed that nobody ever had a good experience with Sovol. Exactly like you are being remiss, claiming that they have such great quality and reliability… Without any disclaimer. A machine that fails within 60 days of purchase obviously disproves your statement about great reliability. if your comments and reviews are going to be useful to the public, they need to reflect both sides of the equation… Not just the fluff you’ve been spewing in this video. I’m not basing my comments on what I have been told… I’m basing them on personal experience. Makes a considerable difference. When a company has no sense of urgency to care for their products under warranty, you should be honest and say so. I realized that would cut into your pocketbook, so I’m sure that won’t happen. This is a reality, not some thing heard: How many days does it take this reliable company to get a part to the damn carrier? Hi Mike, I just saw your email (I only check email twice a week), and I've forwarded it to Sovol's general manager. They've had some staffing changes in the last month, and I think maybe your order fell through the cracks, however, I'm going to bring this to their attention and try to get an explanation as to what's going on over there before I continue promoting their products. Thanks for bringing this to my attention
Great video, though I suspect that's the DeWalt sponsorship killed :D Creality K2 - right product, wrong price (I say that as I Creality owner) Sovol SV08 - Great to see the upgrades and you could buy that and an enclosure for less than the K2? But please Sovol, could you make a tool changer material / colour changer rather than a many-to-one hot-end? The material waste for an AMS style is such a shame
I feel like ratrig 4 will be like a raspberry4 during covid. Sure listing exist but the item is a phantom. Then by the time you can get it 5 will be out.
Don't know why I thought this was funny but every video is another layer to your channel so I just though, Oh boy another layer when this got recommended to me today
There was the profi box with filamentum that had a monthly subscription of 2kg filament and a "surprise" gift. However, they were very inconsistent with sending out the boxes and the company eventually went out of buisness.
Man, duck creality. They purposely launched the smaller versions k1 so they can milk it.... the could've launched the 350mm just fine when they did instead of the smaller one.
@@thenextlayer would be awesome if you did a video on it. I only found out about it a couple weeks ago myself, and from what I've seen, it's quicker and more reliable than the ERCF, about the same price (or even a little cheaper), has all the seam features (buffer, filament cutter, etc), and does 14 filaments
@MikeKasprzak you must have not seen the video.... Dremeled the hot end cover, fried the tool head board from being careless and literally in a hurry, glued the eddy sensor on. Come on. pure hack job.
I personally enjoyed it. Seeing someone have trouble with something reminds me I’m not the only one, and that they too are learning. I don’t have a company rep to speak to get me parts, but I do enjoy seeing ideas that are not cookie cutter. For some, breaking stuff, and fixing it is part of the fun. 😊
