The 300 - Johnny Petraglia's Story 

Johnny you were our hero growing up in the 1970s. Just watched your 300 and so happy you did it, and later in your career. So sweet. Your 11th was the best. So exciting. Even today.

I know it’s Bowling, and it gets forgotten in the grand scheme of things... in 94 bowling still had that sweet ABC spot with Schenkel and Burton so it was still big in a way that’s hard to explain to my kids. And considering who was really killing in 94... Monacelli, Voss, Walter Ray, Duke, Goebel was on a flipping tear, Husted... then I look at the winners and see Pedersen and Horan and Mazza. And I always remember seeing guys like D’Entremont and Forkel and wondering how the heck good was everyone else that these guys were the second tier. For Johnny Petraglia.... the guy my parents and grandparents told me about... a guy whose last win was almost fifteen years before and whose real heyday was twenty plus years before....for freaking Johnny Petraglia to rise up to shoot 300 on TV when people didn’t do that yet... It’s one of the most unexpected and exciting things I’ve ever seen on TV. Gave me chills then at 16, and I still get them now in my mid forties.

I have the remake of the forest green , fire pearl and the classic black quantum and just got my hands on the quantum leap and my dad 2 years ago got the aqua marine quantum.

What a great story. I actually got a forest green Quantum of my own as a result of Johnny shooting 300. He's an awesome guy.
