When I read the Script I found it hard to imagine how this is supposed to be played but you were able to do it amazingly

Well done the company, VERY well done!... but... Patrick Barlow is locked in the past. Don't know when he did the adaptation but is is pure National Theatre of Brent, which was he and Jim Broadbent who put on epic pieces with just the two of them and maybe another one or two, or the audience. I first saw them doing Zulu in an alternative venue in London (can't just now remember the name) in the late 70's. The audience was involved and it was excellent, imaginative theatre. They came to the Theatre Royal in Plymouth with part of Wagner's Ring Cycle (they and a lady, pianist and singer, if I remember rightly). Again, excellent and imaginative theatre They did it in the studio theatre there. I was a techie there and we all went out to eat after the show. I can't remember exactly who was eating with whom, but I do remember that Jim Broadbent was a delightful, humble man (and you probably all know who he is - a talented and modest actor). Patrick Barlow was arrogant, giving the impression that he thought himself God's gift to theatre. So - this play is pure National Theatre of Brent. It was great at its time but is now dated. This amateur company have produced it excellently but the piece itself leaves me stone cold - I suppose because of my memories. Congratulations to all and apologies for my inability to get engrossed.

Please explain why the scene changes are so incredible long! It makes zero sense.

Very good question. I imagine because it is, after all, an amateur group and, for an amateurr group, it is excellent, even with the long waits. There is lots of tight timing within the action and they achieve that very well. (I've been in a crap amdram company and, later on a very good one, before going on to study performing art and working s a techie, mostly, in professional theatre...just for your info)
