The first time I discovered these guys, I didn’t know what Mush spores did, and so I placed them on a faraway tiny mushroom biome island (the only mushroom biome on the map) because I thought it would make things more mushroomy er whatever lol. But anyways one thing led to the next and the civilizations became super advanced in like year 400, but after that something terrible happened, they colonized the island and killed a crab, when it died, it might’ve infected them and I had no clue, so they hopped on boats and travelled to the mainland, and from there… the whole world was eventually conquered

I think this is how The Last of Us started, right? With the mushroom plague overrunning the Dwarven Kingdoms before traveling up into the Elf Lands.

I once tested different "plague" types on a normal large sized map. Mushroom people are worse than anything else because they can live forever, have good stats, spread easily and gather gear which combined, makes them extremely dangerous.

The plague docter can heal the plague or people with the mushroom spores who aren’t zombies yet. But only one at a time they can also set fire to tumors

Zombies: Strength-Hordes Weakness-Big mobs Fungi people: Strength-Kill them=you get infected Weakness-Bows

One arsonist who set the dwarvish army on fire, killing them and creating mushroom people could be the reason the mush spores won

I once made a game with humans only, they became super developed and intelligent, and 1 empire controlled most of the world and was extremely stable. However, I decided to create a small village and infect them all with the spores. In less than 10y, the huge empire got crushed and lost 75% of its territory (only the capital and another city survived) they also never managed to reclaim those lands

id really love to see what wouldve happened had you waited for them to develop bows(or get close to it) before releasing the mushroom people

I remember having a mush room guy who had so many good traits (like immortality and stuff), armour, over 700 health and his name was Cowekin. A legendary villian in my book and had a evil staff

Bro the Spore Mushroom People are something else. I found Bandits, or other Mobs, to be the most effective way to counter them. Bombs work as well. But ya those guys are relentless. You can't take them lightly. They'll spread faster than wildfire.

I kinda wish the mush people could make there own civ. But because they're op it was stunted to like a few basic techs.

No matter what I do to prepare worlds for a single mushroom, if I don't use the divine light, the world is doomed. One person dies and then it's over.

That spreading on death mechanic is overpowered.

I remember accidentally destroying all of civilization when applying this to a small group of elves. The entirety of the eleven lands eventually got infected and it started to spread to the other races kingdoms till nothing but mushroom people remained.

“You think 20 or so of these mushroom people against the world, you think they’re(the world) gonna be fine..” oh if you think that you haven’t tried releasing the mush before lol

One time I made a large map, progressed it a bit, and then put the mush spores on it. They wrecked havoc last expected, and every single person was eventually infected. Surprisingly, they never got wiped out (even after a millennia) despite being at war with each other, although the city’s were now in the double digits instead of triple.

Imagine if they added bridges to the game

They really are OP, I unleashed demons, druids and mages against them but eventually they destroy every settlement. I wish there was a way to hard counter them (or maybe make them weaker)

here is a tip as to why food is an issue. With what I have witnessed, only a single person start will get starved. Because the person doesn't start farming fast enough. No idea what kills them all, but they never go extinct by starvation when they have more then one guy.

Land bridge came too soon, the civilizations didn’t have enough time to advance, and probably had *JUST* learned how to make bows when they got invaded, and so they had few or no archers at all, leaving them vulnerable to infection.

mushroom people vs zombies would be interesting, because they infect eachother i think

I had a world that had like a civilization with full adamantine, I let that world run for like HOURS AFK to see how powerful the orcs could become with full adamantine. Then i anciently spawned one mushroom guy thought nothing of it and came back to half of the world GONE I was only gone for like 30 minutes and the orcs were all on small islands, only a few on the mainland still alive. I had to spawn like 1k plague doctors just to stop the infection from spreading.

Mushroom infection wiped out several islands in my world. I don't know how did they got through water. They destroyed largest human empire, they somehow got island which didn't even have docks.

Imagine having a population of over 3000 with like 1000 humans and the rest being the other races, then not knowing what spores were you used them thinking it was like curses but later when you come back to your computer and see every land on fire and just over 500 humans left fighting as they are being blown up…. Yeah just had to recover from that one. Had to make a sperate island to learn about them and the best way to destroy them. Crazy
