I like cutting those big trees, but I'll gladly always let dad cut them as long as he still has the fire in him to do it. Thank you very much for always watching, Tom!! 🙏🙏🙏
My dad means everything to me, and I know I wouldn't be where I am today if it wasn't for him. I don't mind telling the world that either. Thank you so much for always watching, Bill!! 🙏🙏🙏
Dan So enjoy the videos . Good luck with the new truck and loader. My Dad and I worked together everyday until he was 85.Those years were a blessing. Dan take care of Dad. Keep up the good work Thomas Vojta Long Island
I couldn't imagine going to the woods without my dad, or not being able to call him to tell him about a good job of timber. Working with him everyday is part of what makes logging so great. I can't thank you enough for always watching and all your support, Thomas!!🙏🙏🙏
I’ve always found it amazing that you can come crashing through the woods with a skidder and deer will just stand and watch you go by. But come sneaking down the same trail with a deer rifle in your hands. If you’re lucky they’ll show you their ass. If not they’re gone before you come in sight.
Those are some trees right there! Run little deere run. Can't wait to see that truck. The deer here just love my son and I cutting. They will graze all around us while we cut on the buds and cedar that is left behind.
Ya know Dan, it would be awesome to have a microphone on your Dad and hear him describing his cutting method and thought process. He has his method down to a science! That walnut was huge he dropped......amazing. Sure enjoyed the video, thanks ! 🪵👍🤠👏
Congratulations on the new-to-you truck, I'm looking forward to seeing it in use with its new loader. When you get your revitalised 540 you will likely be in good order and undoubtedly quicker getting those monsters gathered up with less effort on your part! There are clearly some mighty trees on that farm which seem to be cutting well thus far.
Thank you thank you, Dan. We're pretty excited about the truck and loader both. I can't wait to see dad run that loader for the first time and see his surprise with the speed and power of it. I myself am very excited about getting my grapple skidder back! Thank you so much for always watching, Dan!! 🙏🙏🙏
I can't wait to see dad run that Serco! He won't know what to do with something that strong and fast!! Thank you very much for always watching, Alan!! 🙏🙏🙏
I'm a Mack truck fan too, I've driven a Granite, nice truck. Here in Maine we mainly run behind cab mounted loaders on tri axles or centermounted loaders on a trailer, I really like how it's you and you'd dad. I look forward to seeing your videos. Stay safe
I really like the set ups you guys run in the Northeast. When we started talking about putting another truck together I knew thats how I wanted it! Thank you so much for always watching, Frank!! 🙏🙏
That's awesome Kyle! I've always thought if I didn't cut timber the one thing I would like to do is excavation and dirt work. It's always fascinated me! Thank you so much for watching!!
I don't know what dad gave for the Lack but I bet he got the better end of the deal lol. I leave broke everytime I leave Ozarks Machinery. Jeff Barber talks to easy I guess. Love a front mount set up. Unfortunately not good for the way I log but wish it was. I want to be your camera guy next job you get like this one. Brutes!!!!!!
Dad definitely came out a little better on his end of this deal! I've never met Jeff in person but he definitely doesn't give anything away, especially with a couple changes we had made to our specific configuration verses the normal tail mount setup they usually do. I opted for a 1/3 cord grapple and a in-frame tank on the loader rather than mounting it to the truck frame. I'll probably have to start living in that truck now! Ha! Thank you for always watching, Curtis!! 🙏🙏🙏
First log truck I ever drove was a 1978 R model. It was a tough old truck. I really love the B models. Does yours have the Mack rears? The walking beam suspension is best for field work. They ride rough but stand up in the woods.
We try to run smaller iron just to keep our footprint small, and they are much easier to move and more fuel efficient as well. We've had some big iron in the past, and some times I miss them, but not very often. Thank you very much for watching, Teddy!!
Hi Dan!!😀😀 Those where some really nice logs. What was wrong with the steering on the 440 ? You showed us that the steering wheel was just spinning freely and the machine wasn't. Was it just low on fluid? Take care my friend!!😀😀👍👍 Logger Al
Al, I'm almost embarrassed to even say what's wrong with it. As you very well know I'm not a mechanic...at all. But yesterday while dragging I noticed to nut that holds the wheel on was loose. I tighted it back up and works like new 🤣 I was happy it was something extremely simple with no cost, but felt like an idiot!! Thank you very much for always watching, Al.!! 🙏🙏🙏
I don't like being nosey, I am alot like you and your dad bless his soul. I only hope I am doing it like your dad then I am older. I get most contacts at a 50/50 .split . So any way the question is do you do better at a 50/50 with no up front cash or just buy out right. Congratulations on your new truck. It's funny because we are looking for a truck just because trucking is killing me. Thank you and a great video
I prefer to buy timber upfront, and we buy a lot of timber up front. But I leave the payment method completely up to my landowners. I try to be flexible with everything to accommodate my clients the best I can. You can't go wrong on a 50/50 split though, I think it the absolute fairest way, because their is no risk to anyone on how the timber cuts. Thank you so much for always watching, Dean!! 🙏🙏🙏
Do you guys get big money for the walnut? We live in Oklahoma and some of my family logs Walnut from here and halls them to Missouri. They get paid big big money for the loads. They also haul Cottonwood down to Texas
