Hey Indaty. They pretty much all do similar things, but I would prefer one like The Bluebook over any other one. It’s the one I get sent the most invites from. On the estimating side of our business, I get ITBs sent to me by all sorts of contractors and the majority come from The Blue Book.

Congratulations on the Channel. I just bought a marble, granite and quartz manufacturing business. Countertops and other products. This growth no longer occurs by job homeowners, but only as a sub-contractor. As a subcontractor do I need to pay to sign up for services like Blue Book or Building Connected?

Want to get jobs fast as a subcontractor? Just go to the building department and permits public recprds you'll see the names of the builders/GCs that have work going Right Now. Call them.

Sabrina, the best way to get projects is singing up for The Blue Book and contacting General Contractors that are actively bidding on projects. Then you ask them “what else do you have coming up?” And then “how can I get on your master bid list?”

Hi Alldone. It depends on your end goal. Thumbtack and Angi is going to get you little homeowner jobs only. If you really want to grow a business, you have to target clients that are going to give you repeat business. Hey man, how “specialized” is a platform like bluebook? We specialize in removing floor covering. Specifically commercial since our service is based on high production, though we don’t shy away from residential. You think we would have an opportunity to receive ITB being such a specialized company?

@@iambuilders we do floor removal. We have very specialized machines built specifically for tile removal, scraping glued down carpet, hardwood.. pretty much anything in the industry. We’re looking to do mostly commercial work since we have high production equipment.

Gotcha. What I would recommend is your partner up or you subcontract the flooring scope with somebody else so you can pick up the demo of the floor along with the new floor install. The other option would be to partner with a demo company where you focus on the floor removal and let them focus on the rest of the demo. It’ll be very difficult to get a floor removal scope only. I don’t think it benefits the GC to give that to a separate company.
