Besides all the points you mentioned: Every time I chose to not drink alcohol for like a month, I could see my whole body change. At the end of the month I felt better and my body looked much more fit (flatter belly, less bloated, etc..)
Oh my goodness, since I quit drinking 91 days ago I’m saving more than $200 a month, I’ve dropped 30 lbs, and I no longer need my high BP meds! Alcohol lied to me for so many years, and I’m glad to be rid of that poison. Keep up the great messaging, guys!
I can definitely feel the impact alcohol has on my fitness progress, for example. Even if only drinking 1 or 2 glasses of wine the next day I have absolutely no energy to workout properly and push as I know I can. I am also very anxious and though it seems like it obviously frees me in that sense and in the moment, I'm completely feeling down, anxious and tense the next day or two. I am portuguese and alcohol can actually be pretty affordable here, as a bottle of wine can cost as little as 2€ or even less. I know we all have different goals and handle life differently, but what I've been doing is trying to not drink alcohol most of the time and only drink a glass or two of there's a special occasion, a birthday, a fancy dinner with my boyfriend. Otherwise, I'll drink up to 2.5L of water per day and stick to flavoured waters with no sugar added when I want something different. There is a huge difference physically and mentally but I prefer to stick to this plan, where I drink 1 or 2 glasses of wine per month, and not cut alcohol completely, because this balance works with me. One thing to keep in mind is that, even if the negative effect seems to not come to surface alcohol is still toxic to the body so something to def avoid.
@@xoxo9256 I relate. Sounds like you’re doing great by cutting down and having a few drinks a month for special occasions. Finding what works for us as individuals is healthy, and helps us be more mindful of our drinking. Keep it up :)
about who are you speaking, when you say ... we.. because I don't think any of that. The only thing. Drinks without alcohol are mostly even more expensive.
People who drink in general. But it’s a spectrum, and not everyone will relate especially if people watching enjoy drinking or maybe don’t drink as much 😊. And you’re right, some alcohol-free drinks can be expensive.
The drinking culture in Britain is unbelievable. It is laughed off when people have accidents or display different behaviour compared to being sober. It is too widely accepted as the thing to do to relax etc. I used to drink twice a week upto 5 years ago, then my partner died. I really question now why I drank like that, when we went on holiday for 5 days we drank every night and now I feel embarrassed and ashamed. I am a 54 year old woman and a bottle of wine now lasts me 2 weeks. I feel really good about that and cleaner somehow. It is sad so many days are lost to over drinking but it is upto ourselves to come to our own resolution with it.
Hey, thank you for your comment. We are actually based in Spain so unconsciously I used the currency of the location we are in. But you gave us something to think about.
