I was molested by a priest in the first grade. Listening to every single episode you have made has brought me closer to God and I have a true appreciation for priests and all that you do. This has helped me realize that transgression was on that specific priest and not on the entire priesthood. I am currently 30 years old and I have only been able to talk about it in the last 3 months. I literally told my parents 3 months ago. Thank you for all that you do and for helping me appreciate and realize the Father figure priests really are.
I’m so sorry a wicked priest molested you so young! I sure hope that doesn’t deter you from coming home into the one true church of our lord God love you sister
@@versatilelord8893 hey, thanks. It affected my want to consistently go to church and I have PTSD from it but other than that the actual molestation was something I'd didn't remember until I was a teenager. Your brain tries to protect you in any way possible. I still absolutely love this show and I think the majority of priests are good people.
@@dancing0nthe3dge So sorry this wicked priest did this to you. You are so right though; by far the majority of priests are good men. Please do not give up our Catholic Faith. Sending you a big hug - love from Scotland, UK 🏴
My Brother was a Catholic Bishop with the BEST sense of humour and giggles.. He passed in 2018 and I sooo miss him.. and THEN I found this UTube show... Oh Gosh... I am so happy for the sense of Priestly humour, laughter, and yet deep discussions with a twist of Love, Laughter and Open Hearts is A Therapy Session well needed in my life... Thank You for Sharing your lives with us..❤😂
You three are just refreshing! I wish more men & women could just sit and have open conversations about God. I love the humor you bring - I think God loves humor, look at His creations. Keep up the great work! The Holy Spirit is a movin' amongst you guys!!
I know this podcast is two years old, first time watching. Love it! I did subscribe as well. I have not been a practicing Catholic in years ( long story) I’m ready to go back, Gods been working on me, my blessings are many. Loved the show 🙏🏻
This made me laugh a lot! Thank you, Ryans and Father Rich. Feel like I'm just hanging out with you guys all the time and learning so much! God bless you
Priests are so thinly stretched now, and we do need to pray for them. So many of our parishes have only one. The parish we belong to has two English Masses on Sundsy, plus a Spanish one in the afternoon followed by a Latin one ( the pastor before him celebrated a Latin one )and our pastor now learned the Latin one for the parishioners). He’s not young either and I really impressed with his attitude. I’m a senior who grew up with 3 priests in a parish and six Masses on Sunday. Can’t imagine that now,
It's their fault for their crimes & misbehavior. But at base, it is the leadership of the CC that won't permit marriage for Priests & won't ordain women.
"I'm all for calling people out, but if you are not praying for these people then you are sowing discord" That's actually a very very important statement... NICELY SAID RYAN D.
But we do have to pray to stop the predators & protect the victims. Yes it will be stressful to the predators when they are caught. Yes they will get the suffering they deserve. Some of the damage they have done to children will destroy their lives. They become addicts, alcoholics, they become self destructive, some even commit suicide. Their lives can be ruined. So what I pray for is against the predators. Justice needs to be done, they need to be stopped. Justice, the stoppage of these crimes is first & foremost. Then after they're stopped, pray for the souls of the predators, that they repent & not go to Hell. Have you ever seen a repentant predator Priest give his confession & testimony in public? I have not. All you have is Priests denying, denying, denying & other Priests defending, defending, defending. Now even these guys say it's only 1%. Sorry, maybe 1% got convicted, but it's been much more than that. And if it was only 1%, they could have fired that 1% & cleaned up the entire Church.
Thank you Fr Rich for what you do! I was just talking with someone about the need for Priest! I have personally encouraged someone to pray about it. Vivat Jesus!
I am so grateful for you (three) and for the way you 'teach', help, guide and entertain me (us). God bless you, and your families and may this show run for ever!!! There is so much to learn about, to pray for and to laugh at and about :)
You guys are so reverent young Catholics it soooooo funny love it. I’m 67 I can’t believe how rude or inappropriate some people can be at times I totally traditional Catholic and live esp TLM But have A good sense of humor I think I N think you guys hilarious
Merci Father Richard, well said ! The people who insulted you , they are ignorant , with the internet they should look and study before they open their mouth. God be with you ! and guide you 1 and protect you ! Have the Holy water with you to sprinkle !
Me too, how funny, I’ve been watching for a long time now, its probably the only show I have that I watch faithfully and .... yup I finally subscribed.
The three of you are doing God’s work. I’ve read some nasty comments from time to time, but I hope you keep the armor of God to protect you. My husband and I enjoy all of your shows, but this one was particularly enlightening and entertaining. Thank you, Father Rich, for opening up and sharing your struggles and reminding us our priests are humans. Thank you to the Ryans for their quick wit and commentary. Your love for the Catholic faith is so inspiring.
@@cinwells7 I will pray for you too, I promise! I have a code that I can go into our vacant church, the host/Christ is still their. I light candles, prayer and also alms. I doubt but I have to have faith right?! We are married 19 years, sheesh God has long term plans.... :) God Bless, I am with you in Spirit and Prayers
@@cinwells7 oh and ask your priest if you can have the code to go in and do adoration when you can.. It is a life savior, for sure. Sounds weird if you haven’t done it before but check it out. The spirit in your heart actually moves you!
@@home17able I love adoration! Before the COVID restrictions our little Catholic hospital had perpetual adoration. I went nearly every day! I have only been once since then, at my parish. I need to make a more intentional effort. Thank you for the prayers and the encouragement!
@@cinwells7, unfortunately, your problems sound a lot like many problems on earth, for now, because we all want to find the quickest way to God, whenever we come against any obstacle we ASS-ME that there's a problem with our Faith not us. Praying for you and for us all.
Amen, pray for all Priests and Seminarians…..good program guys, Thank you Father interesting testimony very refreshing…….to hear about day to day. Happenings…..God Bless you guys
You guys should make a video showcasing religious communities who make products for sale. I know a few who make candy, peanut butter, carved wood items, fruitcake, etc.
The people need you guys. You say 40 percent may dislike you they just don't know what to make of it all, but still know how much you are need by your church. Satan told Jesus it will take 100 years but he will crush the church on Earth. At this point in time it seems he gave you guys the ball, don't give it back. Build a good offense, we will crush Them with a good defence till everything gets back to a comfortable state for us. Toughen up this truly has taken to the ground.
We over at three strands subscribed God bless each of you for this wonderful talk show! (Even if Fr. Rich is no Ffr. mike schmitz....but maybe he is a young Bishop Barron, or maybe even Bishop Fulton Sheen...)
I grew up in Florida, and I cannot imagine how anyone could describe the climate as "beautiful." The climate is beautiful in Montreal! (Says the person who moved to Beer Sheva, Israel.)
Ryan Delacrosse, check out the Catherine of Siena Institute Charism discernment materials known as Called and Gifted for something to use to help people find their spiritual gifts to help them identify the best ways to minister and serve.
Dear Father, could you perhaps, if you have time, consider with the Bishop the possibility for the appointment of the Master of Ceremonies? With such a rich, flourishing parish, certainly it would be of ease to your planning schedule. I am an MC for one Manfred Grothe here with Good Catholics of Nordrhein-Westfalen, and I believe you would benefit from it! Certainly I would have come, if it wasn't for my dear Bishop. Best of fortune, Good Father!:)
You get asked about the celibacy thing a lot, because most young men don't see how that's even possible. And that's the thing that has discouraged many a young man from the Priesthood. I tried out celibacy when I was in high school for awhile. It was physically miserable and mental torture. I decided that perhaps, I didn't have the calling after all, and went to State University.
I went to a Catholic Grammar School and at a young age I thought the Priest just sat around and ate came outside while we were outside for recess and while we were in class they would stop by to visit Do daily Mass, Confessions and Funerals during the week. They would also teach us Religion once in awhile. Like a guest teacher. It is funny how differently you saw them through the eyes of a child. They also ran CYO.
I think a Priest should always have his collar on when out and about. Unlike the rest of the world His is a calling / vocation, higher than married life, it's not a job. It is natural for people to act diff when he is dressed that way because they are giving him a certain amount of respect that they would not do for others.
There used to be a priest in my church (before I moved to a different county) every Sunday, the priest would bring his golden retriever to church. The dog never barked during mass and would always lay next to the podium. After church, the dog would walk with the priest to say goodbye/talk/blessings to the people leaving. And every church event like the celebration of the church, baptism, etc the dog would be with the priest. I truly believe that golden retriever will be in heaven walking along side the priest. It was a cute duo priest and the dog.
When they are talking about donating to the parish and saying $20 a week isn't a lot, I kinda had to laugh. Here in Belgium many donate less than €5. I, and many parishes, can only dream of families donating "only" €20 a week.
Wear sunscreen, living in Florida you put sunscreen next to your toothpaste 🤣. Honestly there are married couples who are celibate. Many married couples because of health issues cannot be intimate yet continue to love each other. Why? Because their marriages are Christ centered. Father you are Christ centered. Again, God reveals sin. Those who are sinful will be held accountable yet those who are Christ centered like you, we know. Please know you are appreciated. Those of us who are Christ centered know.
I'm surprised that you didn't mention Number 6: being cornered by a very talkative lady self-identifying as a "Pillar of the Parish" and making it almost impossible to escape her politely.
Catholic talk show have joyful happy God’$ people should I really enjoy this type of company it makes me extremely happy but if none than it will always be 😥 I love the Catholic talk show I wish I have these type of people the right kind of people it makes me really happy not like my family setbacks all so horrible Not a happy family not a happy family 😢💌🙏🏼🇸🇬

Does this precisely!!!!
What about when you get a call from the Vicar for Clergy in your diocese and he says, “The Archbishop is pulling you out of your parish because a change is needed there. You can be a Parochial Vicar somewhere else. It doesn’t matter how many years you have in your term, you’re leaving. Get ready.
Such happy campers. I am a lapsed Catholic. Will not return. My children attended Presbyterian & Episcopal schools. The clergy so much more understanding of family dynamics. My husband, Boston Catholic left church. Three men in family Catholic priests. One Alcoholic, though heard he got off the wagon, another morbidly obese, another gay who brought a man into rectory for a trist. This person bludgeoned him to death. Many friends still Catholic. Attend mass, not often. Birth control pills, of course. Guess the so called rules of the church do not apply. Why be a member of the church & make own rules?
Matthew 5:4-14 I don’t question Gods will. Those that suffer will have great rewards in heaven. I was an abused child, and I am also a devout Catholic, pray the rosary every day, and hand make rosaries, and NEVER ask for any type of compensation, monetary or otherwise. Certainly, I have questions that I am sure the answers will be made evidentially clear in Heaven. That’s called faith. Why was I abused? Because it’s Gods will. End of story.
I think it’s a great reminder to me, that priests are humans too, they also go through a lot of ups and downs, like we do. Good priests really do a lot for the community. 🙏🏼

My guess without having to watch the above video first is -- Trying to explain to a nun teaching in separate school that it is not O.K. to use harsh discipline on students just because she turned out 'O.K.' because of her authoritarian parents too.
Somehow I can’t see myself being vulnerable when talking to you. I wonder why😏. I’m into this about 5 minutes now and rather than what you don’t like about yourself you’re talking about your parishioners and how stupid they are (stupid is my word, not yours). I’m outta here. Please stay out of Sacramento.
The worst thing about being a Norvus Ordo priest is not being a true Roman Catholic priest. They commit liturgical abuses on a daily basis by handing out Holy Communion to people standing up and taking the host in their uncleaned, unconsacrated hands. Laity calling you by your Christian name, this was unheard of before Vatican 2. You don't bow your head in reverence when you speak or hear the Holy name of Jesus. A real validly consecrated priest wears his priest close all the time, they wear the cassock and would never be seen not wearing his priestly attire. You don't even talk like a priest. You are Norvus Ordites. I was raised in the Roman Catholic faith in the 1950s and I don't recognise your Anglican style service that you call a Mass. It is not the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass that nourished the Souls of all the Saints and Martyrs in times past. I was in awe of priests when I was growing up in the Holy and reverent Roman Catholic faith. Who could be in awe of modern priests today. Listening to this made me feel so sad. I thank God for Abp Lefebvre and my local SSPX church. When I walk inside our Roman Catholic church I feel so close to Our Blessed Lord and his Blessed Mother. To be able to kneel at the altar rail in reverence, and receive the Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity of Jesus Christ is the most beautiful feeling. Our priests wear the cassock always and their Bereta. We address them by their last name only, never to disrespect them by saying their first names, as if we were talking to our pals. The Norvus Ordo man promulgated religion is dying, more and more young people are returning to the true faith founded by Christ 2000 years ago. The faith of our Father's. If the Saints of the church pre Vatican 2 came back, they would not recognise this religion and New Order Mass. The priest facing the people behind a table, wearing strange vestments and people receiving Holy Communion standing and in their hands aswell as so many other liturgical abuses. The biggest tragedy is, millions of Catholics have been robbbed of their birthright and millions of Souls are being led into Hell. People today haven't a clue what true Roman Catholicism is about. I was 20 years old when the Catholic church as I had always known it, suddenly became a alien grotesque thing. That day my heart was broken, then God sent us Saint Marcel Lefebvre and that eased the pain. I try as much as I can to educate people on the true RC faith and I have helped quite a few people to return to tradition and free themselves from the New Order. More and more young families are now coming home to our SSPX church and discovering the true RC faith for the first time in their lives. They are in awe with the Sacredness and beauty of the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass and hoe reverent our priests are. It brings tears to my eyes, tears of happiness. In the name of the Father, Son and Holy Ghost Amen.
Yea because having joy is contrary to the Gospel? Stephen cracked a joke when he was being tortured?!?!?! And how about not listening because we aren't 'serious'? See how that works? I just saved you an hour a week! Praying for you bro/sis. That God would give you peace, prosperity, and happiness.
@@martinkent333, sadly, there are some priests who don't follow the Law of God. However, there are many Good Priests, who try their best to follow God's Plan in life and death.
@@jimselimos4863 Jim, the Roman Catholic Church's Vatican Bank washes Mafia money. Which is a Satanic institution. Two hundred thousand Roman Catholic children were raped and this was covered up by the Roman Catholic Church. People think this is really disgusting, but Roman catholic Church members without a conscience or a soul, find it excusable. The Mafia makes their income from murder, prostitution and drugs. A conscience would help you Jim. It would help you associate with holy people, not evil ones. I'm not saying mass rape of two hundred thousand children is wrong, but a coverup too? And treasurer to Satan? Wow.
@@martinkent333 i believe in God, if you do not that is your decision, please, try to find Faith yourself. Stop trying to take us away from the Truth of Faith, closer to your own personal Hell.
they are doing everything they know how to replace the homosexuals with straight masculine men. I don't know how they've done it but many these type men are becoming priests. The CC should allow Priests to marry. And ordain women. Their problems would be minimized.
@@lois2997 Did I say that? No I did not. Many fathers are abusers. However, the men who become Priests, if they were permitted dating & marriage, there would be less homosexuals & homo-pedophiles. Don't you think so?
Glad I found this channel. It's wonderful to hear the words of a down to earth and accessible priest, I'm very grateful for the insight and the humour.
I have clicked the bell all the way from South Africa, I think your show is fabulous. Fr Rich you are an amazing priest and your parish is blessed to have you
Lord Jesus, you have chosen Your priests among us and have sent them to proclaim Your Word and to act in Your Name. For such a great gift to Your Church, we praise You and we thank You. We ask that you fill them with the fire of Your love, that their ministry may reveal Your presence in the Church. Since they are earthen vessels, we pray that your power may work in their weakness. In their afflictions do not let them be crushed; in their doubts, do not let them despair; in temptation, do not let them be destroyed. Inspire them through prayer to live each day the mystery of your death and Resurrection. In times of weakness, send them Your Spirit and help them to praise your heavenly Father and to pray for poor sinners. With the same Holy Spirit place your word on their lips and your love in their hearts, that they may bring the Good News to the poor and revive the broken-hearted. Lastly, may the gift of Mary, your mother, to the disciple whom you loved, be your gift to every priest. Grant that she, who formed You in your human image, may form each priest in Your divine image, through the power of Your Spirit, to the glory of God the Father. Amen. (JPII implored the laity to always pray for our priests.)
