The list comes from American classical music researcher Phil G. Goulding. Although the league tables are subjective, they still serve as indicators. The composers are grouped into four levels:
• Immortals
• Demigods
• Composers of Genius
• Artists of a High Order

Now this is a list I can respect (unlike that joke the BBC came up with)... but personal opinions aside, this is a good list for someone just getting into classical music who wants a basic idea of the greatest / most famous composers

Just look no further than Beethoven. He is Number One. Tchaikovsky is Number Two, to my mind.

Without Rachmaninov this list is bullshit. Prokofiev was a bit of jealous of him so he kind of adopted some of music elements(no offense to Prokofiev). Rachmaninov is a worldwide recognized genius, so it means the researcher that made that list is clueless or just stupid. Shame on him.
