I'm so confused? I watched this exact video 3 months ago. Did he re-upload it? What's the 100 video game facts meme. Pls help a clueless, I wasn't there for marketing monday last week and it shows
When Atrioc tried to distract chat from questioning things by showing them a new Bionicle it really reminded me of my childhood, so in a way big A is like a father to me
@5:20 My Matoran is a bit rusty, but seeing as no one else bothered, here I go. "I built this from a (covered by camera, I think it says picture) it looks kinda right. yes, I made instructions." And then underneath he wrote: "Karzahni's a dork, Nocturn(he said nocutrn but Nocturn is a character in Bionicle) has a foot in his mouth, and Vezon ate a chew train. Did you know Bionicle Heroes has a secret ending? Hail Good Guy, ruler if De(n?)mark."
For my college final I made a game in Unreal 2k4 with a group that was basically Mario Kart with sleds and instead of making our artist's models into proper vehicles I had the big brain idea to have the players be really fast invisible humans who suck at turning and have the sled models just constantly move to the location of the players. It honestly probably saved us weeks worth of time figuring out the correct way of doing it.
I have a useless fact. In kingdom hearts 1 in the tutorial area, you're given a choice between a sword, a staff, and a shield. If you pick the shield, it has a unique sound for opening a treasure chest that doesn't play anywhere else, and you can only hear it once as there's only one chest in that area and you don't get to keep it. The sword and staff have the normal chest opening sound.
Always feel like my life is just sitting on someone else’s train hat: I may be the conductor, but am I the driver? Nay, I do not wear the hat of my destiny. 😔 Fallout New Vegas really is an essay on the human condition or whatever.
To the Skyrim fact. Vendors don't have the stuff they sell on them otherwise you could just pickpocket everything you want. Instead their vendor inventory is below the map, where the vendor reaches in basically
My useless fact is in Half Life 2, Valve instead of making a face model for a character, slapped a genuine photo of a decomposing body on the character. People only found out when a medical student was playing half life 2 and noticed the character was the exact same as the image in his textbook
Bionicle text translation: "I Built this from a Pi(Atrioc's head is in the way, but I assume it says Piraka) It looks kinda right Yes, I made Instructions. Karzahni's a dork, Nocturn has a foot in his mouth, and Vezon ate a chew chew train. Did you know Bionicle Heroes has a secret ending. Hail Good Guy, ruler of Demark(Denmark?)"
2:30 - To add some fun fact to this troll post: The Creeper design was a mistake. Due to an error they accidentaly change the pigs body model to be upright. It looked so creepy that notched decided to keep it around. He just swaped out the pink color with the gras texture and it was done. The explosive nightmare was born.
The Deepstone Crypt Destiny 2 Raid Atraks 2nd encounter boss health bar was stored on a vandal in another room accessible by out of bounds glitches. Took them a long time to move the healthbar vandal and patch holes.
Extra fun fact about drowning in Sonic Adventure 2. While you can’t drown that same way, if you clip oob and you make Tails fly at a specific height you can still make him drown on the PC version.
Dude my favorite gamer fact is that the Monster Rancher video game series needed you to swap in random cd's in your console to unlock different monsters.
Working QA means I know a bunch of literally useless facts about aspects of the games I've worked on that never made it to the finished product, it's great.
The file containing the cardboard cutout cow on ctf_2fort, as well as a bunch of other miscellaneous assets, is required for the game to not crash on launch
Useless game fact: In dark souls 1 there is a weapon called the server whose item description changes slightly when infused with either fire or chaos it is the only item in the game that does this. “Imbued with a frightful occult energy which restores HP with each hit." --> Imbued with a frightful heretical energy, this sword absorbs HP upon a foe's death."
Surprised this wasn’t here since the train thing started the idea for this video. In fall out new vegas, or maybe fall out 3, during the ending cutscene you if you activate a dev tool to move you can see that they just placed your character in front of a big tv screen that’s playing the cutscene. Then if you go through the screen there’s an npc behind it named the narrator who’s saying all the lines for the cutscene.
In Rocket League, when you try to move forward or backwards or boost during kickoff, your engine will rev up. But a few years ago, if you held the reverse button, your engine did not rev at all. It would stay idle until you started moving
Copying my comment from the VOD on the Matoran Language translation for the bionicle segment around 5:18 "I built this from a picture. It looks kinda right. Yes, I made instructions. Karsahni's (this is an error, should be Karzahni. Rookie lore mistake.) a d***, nocutrn (another error, should be nocturn) has a foot in his mouth, and vezon ate a chew train. Did you know bionicle heroes has a secret ending. Hail good guy, ruler of demark (probably supposed to be denmark, since ya know, lego)" Can't wait for the Bionicle-thon!
yo that's so cool! my teacher for computers made that first one. the entire class was so surprised. but its real, he works full time as a software engineer / hackerman. very cool
Holy fuk, the monster rancher one blew my mind and now I want shades. In monster rancher, you get different monsters by putting in different games or other disc media. Most non PS2 discs would give generic low rarity monsters, so this one is an incredible fact
Monster rancher was perfect for its time, used to rent movies/songs from blockbusters or other places, and use random CD's to see what we'd get. Even if your brother or sister got a lame movie for the week, you atleast could make a monster and get something new maybe.
Since skyboxes only cover 180 degrees, and are then duplicated, the skybox for Archdragon Peak in Dark Souls 3 has two Anor Londo. On is hidden behind the temple most of the time, however.
The souls game have always had funky skyboxes. Like near where you first find Eileen the Crow in Bloodborne there’s just a clearly visible area nearby missing textures and instead you see the skybox where you shouldn’t.
