I like how in the first scene not only the electronics stop working, but somehow brakes don't work in cars anymore and airplane is sucked to the ground by increased gravity or something. That was a badass EMP, I'll give them that.
@@frankjr5303 the plane will not fall down like a stone if it loses power, get a grip, dude. Also, if brakes on cars were electronic, you wouldn't be able to brake without the engine on and that would be a safety hazard. Dunno why I bother, you clearly have no idea how machines work, let alone understand aerodynamics. I guess this movie was perfect for you.
@@frankjr5303 Planes have a glide ratio. Just because the engines stop does not mean they just fall out of the sky. That part was bullshit. And even if your car engine stops running you still have some braking power. That part was bullshit also. AlJaz was correct.
@@frankjr5303 Power breaks only help you press the brakes. My car doesn't have them, and I can still press the braks, it's just harder. The cars would just shut off and the drivers would press the brakes like they normally would but harder. Steering would be unpowered too, so it would be harder to turn but not impossible. Airplanes stay in the air with enough speed. Even without engines, the plane will pick up speed as it falls and will actually slow it's own fall while moving forward if angled correctly, which all pilots know how to do. They can use this to actually land or do a controlled crashland. Plane won't just fall out of the sky.
There is no reason to be her fan because of that movie... "Let Me In" was such good of a movie, that any actress would have shined in it, and it happened that it was her...
When an airliner crashes outside your school and explodes in a fireball, you back away from the window - at the very least. You don't stand there with your face pressed up against the glass - which, at such a short distance from the resulting explosions - would have shattered. Badly done.
Uuhm..... you do realize that those hydraulic brakes use an ELECTRIC brake booster, right? You think its your foot pressing down on the brake pedal that's creating enough braking force on all 4 corners of a 2,000+ pound vehicle moving at speed that can bring it to a complete stop in seconds? Why do you think that if you're trying to move a car with a manual transmission a couple feet without starting it, even an older car, using the brake pedal to stop the car becomes VERY difficult? Or If you have your foot on the brake, or pump the brake before starting the car, you can feel the pressure on the brake pedal change? Think of it like the power steering pump, that makes it easy for you to turn the steering wheel inside the car even when at a complete stop, but for your brakes.
@@theElemDragon It works for normal, that is, small cars... I´ve had 5 cars, none of it had any electronics connected to the brakes, except the switches for the rear brake-lights... You don´t need the boost, cars haven´t had any boost for nearly a century before it got invented, and still they´d manage te deccelerate, and trains too..
No, it was REALLY bad! The whole plot is weak and overdone. Hollywood warmed up dog barf with this one and didn't even try. It doesn't even make sense.
@@atpcliff Cars have hydraulic mechanical brakes that are boosted by vacuum or electric pumps. That way the brakes work even if the engine stops, etc. It's done that way for safety. It does mean the pedal gets a lot harder to press, but the brakes still work. It's important to know this.
A real case of phenomenal writing style making the book great, yet the movie adaptation is less convoluted and therefore way more predictable than reading a book.
for those of you who dont know. EMP will not kill a plane like that, all planes dont fly, they are self propeled gliders. with no power you can still glide 3 times the altitude of the plane ahead, the problem is finding where to land, people dont realize how much hills, mountains and slopes there are on earth.
I just wish they could have taken a chance to make the sequel I would love to see what happens after this she rescues her brother and her boyfriend from the aliens who made themself look as human
According to the second book Ringer accidently shoots Teacup, gets captured by the Others, enhanced and gets an unofficial "boyfriend" named Razor. Evan survives the explosion because of an escape pod and finds Cassie and Sam. Ben's gunshot gets infected, but he turns out alright. They end up having to remove a bomb that is triggered by the CO2 in someones breath from a little girls throat that Sam met when he was taken to the facility called Megan. Cassie, Sam, Ben, Evan and Ringer all live.
No electricity, no engines, no power.... but plenty of soap and makeup, nail polish, and hair products. It was the best of times, it was the worst of times.
When all those trees start falling, what good is it going to do to crouch and keep your head down? Wouldn't you want to see what is falling around you and stay on your feet so you can dodge it?
I really hope this version of (THE FIFTH WAVE) gets made into a show series someday. I thought the year2016 movie of (THE FIFTH WAVE) was really good, but it wasn’t great, and if I was a MovieCritic I would give it the rating of Three Stars.
Such things are shocking only for us who belive that this world been created to be our playground and place of eternal happiness. We just need find perfect spouse, build big house , have enough money in our accounts and than we are successful. Reality is different The most ironic is this than now we just seat and watch this or another film and we think that our life is so great and we are so secure
Hello Chloe Grace Moretz, wow this looks awesome 👏~ I have not seen it yet, I'll have to check it out soon. Please say high to Kate for me, I hope you folks are doing well. 👀~ Take care sister 🙏~ . . .
LOL except that's not how battery power works. The only reason why modern cars and modern boats would cease functioning is because they have internal computers, the older stuff before computers were put into everything would still work like Voltswagon Bugs and older boats and planes that were in museums.
It is inland, but it's also at sea level. The Thames at that point is all tidal. The city has been damaged by storm surges from the North Sea even though they're 50 miles inland and has been an ocean port for centuries. So while not technically a coastal city, it functions as one and would suffer from anything that affects the oceans.
On an analytical standpoint, a lot of this movies disaster scenes are unrealistic. Not the science fiction parts, but the human parts. No breaks on older model cars (They are pneumatic not digital), the plane would not fall directly vertically 5 seconds after losing power (it would have enough centripetal force that it will "swoop" down into a crashing, if an aircraft going 500kts loses power it will not automatically start directly falling to earth. And the way the aircraft fell was modelled on planes that have their loads break free, a passenger plane would not have the same fall pattern and since the controls of an aircraft are based on cables/wire, the pilot would still have somewhat control and may possibly be able to "glide" the plane down, (it would still end badly considering the environment).
Energy would remain after an EMP if we produce energy with the force of gravity with the Constant shifting center of gravity rotor, the center of gravity pendulum.
Why is everyone on the beach running down the beach? Shouldn't you be running away from the beach? And shouldn't you have the common sense to know that you're not going to make it in time so you might as well just stand there and stare at God's beauty.
Why do you think petrol engines have magnetos and spark plugs, and all engines have generators, starters and batteries, and how do you think they operate? Think before you post and embarrass yourself...
@@jamesfrankel7827 No, no, no, engineering experts like @triggerwarningiidentifyasc725 and @chapter4travels461 suck the Diesel out of the tank and blow it into the engine, duh...
@@jamesfrankel7827 Mechanical fuel injection, look it up. Also, EMPs only affect digital/computer-controlled vehicles. Hope this helps, wouldn't want you to look silly on the internet.
without food or running water there is no way the lonely guy on the building would survive. it would take WEEKs to months for all that volume of water to recede to normal level
I wish these shows would not insult my intelligence. While the overall premise is true. There are many engines that can run, without electronics. We got by a little over 100 years ago without electricity. I grew up in the mountains where we had no electricty at all for months during the winter. Too much snow. Poeple have become weak.
