I would rather live in a suburb and have peace rather than live in high crime areas, what other people would consider as cool because of culture, whatever that means.
I’ve watched this video several times. I wanted to know the names of the neighborhoods. They are : McNeil Estates, Rancho Bonito Estates, Paradise Palms, Downtown Las Vegas, Glen Heather Estates, Scotch 80s. I like the idea of a small home on a large lot in a good neighborhood. We have been seeing homes on larger lots in the Northwest & Southwest. There are also larger lots in more remote ares like Indian Wells & Pahrumpt.
Nothing but respect for the information in this video, all true. I do think the tittle is off. Maybe “most iconic” or “most legendary “ Las Vegas neighborhoods. Not “BEST” neighborhoods.
I was glad to see you actually featured neighborhoods in Las Vegas instead of all the other videos with the same name talking about Summerlin, Mountains Edge, Henderson, Centennial, etc. where none of the neighborhoods are actually in Las Vegas. The downtown vintage neighborhoods are my favorite neighborhoods…Scotch 80, Alta, McNeil Estates and the gated communities of Rancho Bel Air, Rancho Circle and Nevada Estates. They are all custom, beautiful homes on large lots of 1/4 acre to an acre plus and the mature landscape does not feel like Vegas. Add in the giant pools that are not even built anymore and the fact they are located just minutes from The Strip, Downtown, and airport…they best spots to live.
Thank u so much for this video, these are the types of homes i am looking for. Other realtors only push Summerlin and Henderson new communities. I like established neighborhoods and need some outdoor space. We are looking to move end of 2021 to beginning of 2022. So excited.
Yeah all the newer communities are out the way and most of the houses are bunched up and have very little to none front and back yards...I like these neighborhoods they keep the Vegas vibe with decent yard space
There are so many amazing neighborhoods that a lot of people don't know about! We are actually building a container home in the East/Hollywood side of town! Thank you for shining a light on the other amazing parts of the Las Vegas valley! 💯
In 2018 I stayed at the Goldan Nugget to see Blink 182 at the Palms. They canceled and I ended up seeing Marshmallow at the Encore Night Swim but I got to explore Downtown East, the mob museum and the Container park for the first time. Really enjoyed bar hopping in downtown east. I don't gamble.
We live in the midwest. Cable guy is talking to us and the subject of Vegas comes up. He said he had his first cable job out there and loved it. However his electric bill was almost $800 a month even with turning the air conditioning up to 80 when he was at work.
Thanks John! That’s awesome 👏🏼 I have a few videos on my channel about the Vegas lifestyle that you should check out. I’ll definitely be showing more living in Vegas videos in the future 🤙🏼
Hey, that's my car (the silver one on the right) at the 10:35 mark. I love it in the Scotch Eighties! Current and former neighbors: Las Vegas mayors - the Goodmans, county commissioner Tick Segerblom , Jerry Lewis, Holly Madison, Shecky Greene, the casino Binions, Nicholas Cage, Howard Hughes, the late Zappos boss Tony Hsieh, the Killers frontman Brandon Flowers, and a couple of likely-mobsters I won't name. I take a 2-mile walk thru the neighborhood every morning...and do I ever see any of these folks? Nope. But I am on a first-name basis with their German Shepherds and Rottweilers always urging me to skedaddle along.
I used to live on Harvard Street, off Decatur. Very much similar to what you’re showing, but smaller homes. Also close to the Strip off the 95. People I worked with all said I was living in the ’hood LOL!
I moved from Middlesex county NJ to Las Vegas 20 years ago. I moved back east to Pennsylvania 2 years ago. It's not the same city I moved to in 2000. Take my advice, if you love traffic, crime and 120 degree summers then Vegas is for you!
@@johniboz1 I actually wanna move there specifically for the heat! It sounds nuts but I love being in Vegas in the summer when it's that hot out! Traffic I can deal with because around here it's absolutely terrible, so how much worse can it be (as long as it's not LA type traffic!) Crime though, hmm... I don't like that.... I'll have to stay away as much as possible, I guess
The title needs to be changed to 6 Best neighborhoods in DOWNTOWN Las Vegas. I used to travel all over Las Vegas for a living for almost a decade and some portions of these neighborhoods are still somewhat seedy to this day. If you're looking to be in a quiet, family-friendly parts of Vegas, you need to stay away further downtown just like what you do in any big city in America. I would consider Summerlin in the West and Lone Mountain just a little north of that near the 215 freeway area, near Rhodes Ranch or Arroyo in the Southwest, Green Valley/Silverado Ranch/Anthem in the Southeast/Henderson area, Centennial Hills in the Northwest, Aliante up North and one of the newest developments, Skye Canyon farther Northwest. Mountain's Edge is pretty nice as well. But if I only had to pick 2 out of the 6 mentioned, I would go for McNeil Estates and Scotch Eighties. I'm surprised Rancho Palomino area was not mentioned though.
I have owned and lived in Huntridge for close to 20 years. The neighborhoods are very quiet despite the fact that you're near the strip. The nicest thing is the privacy with the big properties & big backyards. You don't have people peering down from there two story houses into your backyard. Real houses built with real materials along with the character. The only other part of Vegas I would live in would be Boulder City. People here are very friendly.
Cool content! I noticed that some builders are infiltrating the area, stacked homes in the middle of these older areas. Now all the way to North Town, million dollar homes on edges of N Town. Lol
Thanks for the video! I have been looking there lately and just feel so bored with all the stucco boxes on top of each other. I really want to get a ranch. Will look y'all up.
I wish that I had bought in Summerlin in 2000 ti retire, but my wife didn't like Vegas. She was afraid that I would gamble. Actually, familiarity breeds contempt.
All these areas are ghetto af outside the neighborhood, only true locals know to avoid the strip area idk why ppl feel the need to live so damn close to the strip
I agree! I moved here about 5 years ago and did my homework. The reality is that most communities in Vegas and Henderson have high crime rates and lousy schools (important indicators of real estate value). After doing much research I bought a house built in the 1970's in Boulder City without any HOA fees. I got a larger house and more land for my buck in a nice quiet neighborhood. The new cookie-cutter housing developments don't give you much land and they're built right next to each other (might as well buy a townhome). When I first arrived here 5 years ago I rented a fleabag motel for 4 months near the Fremont Street Experience. Perhaps it's been cleaned up but I was frequently hit up by drug dealers, drug addicts, pimps and prostititutes. The neighborhoods on your tour are very nice! I looked at about 20 houses in the Vegas area and wasn't impressed with the neighborhoods. The crime rate in all areas of Vegas is high and there's a drug and homelessness problem. I had an interest in a Mid-Century Modern house with a pool but the neighborhood was awful (high crime, gangs and of course gang grafitti everywhere) so I didn't buy it. Vegas appears to now have "pockets" of nice neighborhoods similar to Los Angeles (where I'm from) and that is due to the gentrification process (affluent Yuppies like to move into socio-economical depressed neighborhoods). However, I don't see habitating in a nice house in a nice five block neighborhood while everything else around is in decay as gracious living (you have to eventually come out of your bubble and go grocery shopping). The areas that I thought about living 5 years ago was Summerlin, Green Valley and Centennial Hills (based on my low crime rate and good school district criteria). IMO, the rural areas will become more attractive as COVID-19 has made people second-guess the desirability of living in dense urban centers. Indeed, I think that this panic-demic will make single family houses with more land very desirable verses dense living (condos, townhomes and the newer track homes). Kudos to Zappos for cleaning up the Downtown area! It looks very nice and I now see the new businesses in the Arts District. I used to frequently walk in this area 5 years ago and what a difference! Thank you for the video and I found it most enjoyable.
@@Pompsie They love it..They have lived in Vegas for 25 years..They love the dining and gambling..Party people...😁😀🤣🤣🤣..I visit often..I just moved from Laguna Beach area to The West Valley of Phoenix..4 hour drive..Perfect..😀😀😀😀..I am a Vegas Lover..I will definitely move to Summerlin in the future..My personal fave...😀🥰💗..Love Your videos..Shine on Pompsie...😀🥰💗😘
I like these older neighborhoods in LV they remind me of some of the nice suburbs in long beach ,CA not a fan of the super sanitized 4,000 sq ft mc mansions in other parts of vegas.
I know this is old but thanks for the tour. I learned something today. I want to move to a surrounding vegas area..not sure the mrs is ready though lol
Wow I was just about to follow up some previous comments I left on another of your videos about moving to LV. I wanted to know other than personal research, any tips on areas and a good real estate team. I think I got my answer. Super informative.
Outstanding video. You were all around my neighborhood(Huntridge-Crestwood). I have lived here in the downtown area for about 10 years now and have seen significant positive improvements. I moved from the LA area(Santa Monica) where you can NOT even buy a dog house for 500k lol lol. By the way my beautiful house is up for sale, it's on the MLS and Zillow(1331 Burnham ave.). I would call this area the Greenwitch - Grenitch village of Las Vegas. Good luck to your RE team and thanks again for an entertaining video.
It’s February and I’m in shorts and a long sleeve shirt. You see the rest of the country weather patterns....lol ..stop complaining.... the weather is fine
Hi can I ask a simple question..how much is the price of a 1 hectare residential lot only in one of the good neighbor or area in downtown Las Vegas near the strip thanks you so much and God Jesus Christ bless us all
I'm just iffy in general when it comes to moving to vegas. i have family who have moved out there and they seem to be doing alright enough but i fear that I won't be able to meet my career goals out there, plus with my current level of debts i need to be somewhere I know for sure I will get paid enough to handle them. maybe one day when i finish up my degree and pay off all my major debts I can consider moving out there and giving it a shot.
This video is forgetting to mention that these neighboorhoods have high crime rates, if you want safety look towards the outskirts of town like summerlin for example, not the central areas
Yeah, why many have bars on the doors and windows, who wants that.. I didn't want to burst the whole cool, hip thing .but I see cops now all over by Paradise/Harmon/Koval/Unlv area, patrolling in convoys always got someone pulled over... not cool to steer people to buy a home they're not going to feel safe in, I'm already renting and getting to feel unsafe the way the streets are looking now and the people out at night.. Las Vegas is way way different living here than visiting for a weekend. Vegas attracts all the weirdos from everywhere.. I'm a regular looking guy from the Midwest and usually feel out of place everywhere unless on the strip if I happen to see other similar looking people, but that's not the people you'll see in these neighborhood's.. But if its your thing, then cool..
Investing in Real estate in Las Vegas because you want to live near and hang out on the Las Vegas strip.Something doesn't seem quite right about that, lol.Especially if you go to the strip to gamble your cash vs putting It into your properties.Lol,that's like running a donut shop and being on a diet.
1;54 sick freed and roys'. 75%+ of current latest cell phone buyers have no idea but a good haha shot anyway. i was hoping for a drive by of the "casino" home like you did for sick freeds. great vid, i think the "brady bunch" houses will gain in popularity.
nowhere is as bad as LA and NYC ahaha I've never had issues parking here though. Usually in the downtown areas there are big parking lots that are cheap and also many casinos have huge parking garages for free or relatively cheap
@@kaykaycp3fan not really...its easy to get from one side of town to the next but that might change on Sundays when the Raiders play and they let fans in..But im from Kali i could be wrong on the traffic issue but dealing with Northern Kali and the S.F Bay area Traffic i probley never noticed Vegas Traffic
My friend just moved last year from Cali to LV,And now I’m thinking to buy my first home in Nevada as well. It’s been great having a friend who lives in the area, makes it easier to stay awhile and explore. Raiders🏈she’s a season ticket holder, moved here to be near her team. Now that’s what I call a dedicated Fan.🤩Great helpful video Chris👍🏼
They never talked about the water shortage happening, how to you water the plants and what do you do with all that yard when water restrictions go into effect.
does anybody have an idea of how the autism services are in Nev ? family and i are considering moving down there, but i have a sister with autism, so we're trying to gather up info. is there personal care assistance or an equivalent of that down there ? can relatives be p.c.a. / work as care-takers ?
Love your videos, but disagree with this whole lineup of areas to live. This is more of a first time buyers home video. That realtor looks more like a pro skateboarder than a guy who sells homes.
Ha ha.. they all look like there in the same crew... but to be fair, LV in general is a way younger, dressed down kind of market, if youre from anywhere east, or probably anywhere else for that matter. The dressy or suited look here is not really seen in general, other than of course I'm sure in actual business settings or casino managers..
When I was a kid, I was raised in Vegas, so in the 80s and 90s, North Las Vegas was the scummy part of town with heavy gang presence, trashy neighborhoods, nasty people, and a very dangerous place to live. My cousins lived in North Las Vegas and they were nasty people. They used to live in Purple Sage Trailer Park, which was really trashy, and then they moved to a house on Pariva Street, which was also a nasty neighborhood in North Las Vegas. Or, it was.
I’m looking to maybe move to Vegas next yr and I’ve seen the houses on Zillow and why do the houses have small back yards? I actually live in the Midwest and the houses are way bigger here
