We love our 60 series Land Cruiser and have owned it for 24 years and when I say we, that's me and my wife. It was stolen three years ago and when it showed up 8 months later 1000 miles from home we did not hesitate to pay the ludicrous impound fee. Once a Land Cruiser owner always a Land Cruiser owner.
I went with option A. Sometimes we get feet of snow so I found a Land Cruiser FJ80 to handle that and secondarily be used for regional Summer trips. I liked it, but to buy it she had to say she wanted it, which she did. I really liked the presenter in this video. He has a good attitude and I liked his accent and cadence. The TFL guys need to hire him as their European correspondent.
That is a beautiful rig. I bought my FJ40 in 2008 for $2000 it was in poor condition but with only minor rust. At first my wife would wrinkle her nose at it and wonder why I was investing time and money on it. Now she is astonished at how much the value of it has increased and she no longer wrinkles her nose at it!
these 12ht respond really well to adding an intercooler and increasing the boost above the very low stock 0.5bar. Also for faster boost pickup the turbo can be upgraded from a tried and trusted GTurbo from australia, uses the original CT26 turbo body with more modern compressor and importantly a properly matched turbine wheel. With boost mods the fuel pump also needs tweaked. After these mods you will find the standard snorkel is throttling the air.
Understanding and support here. My own 1989 LC FJ62 3F is receiving some TLC at this moment. Parts availability is a challenge, though. Had it for 25 years now and it is receiving some well deserved attention. She's never been better. Enjoy.
my mint HJ61 VX high top with factory winch bar and lockers and 230,000kms on the 12HT cost me $9500 AUD in 2012.... sold it for $15K a few years later and really really regret it.
i have the same exact unit eurospec 1987 at 330k miles. I love it and I have great working AC that looks like it was fitted later. Your interior is in better shape than mine. i have not seen a second one in person. I always wondered if the non-retracting rear seat belts were stock. You have the same, so i guess they are stock.
I love these to! I live in America and the 80 series is much more popular but I prefer the 60 series I believe it has the classic character. Problem here is we never got the diesel. Thank you 👍
I agree!! With everything!! What a nice Land Cruiser, and it really is in great condition. Well bought!! You did a really excellent job on the video and descriptions as well! Professional quality. Thanks for sharing.
The way I see it is that with Thomas' excellent choice of vehicle he would have had the same good judgement when choosing a wife/girlfriend, therefore spending $40+ on this was a choice that was well thought out. In case some of you noticed the 300+ thousand figures on the odometer, that is kilometres, and he converted those numbers from kilometres to miles for you. He obviously converted the fuel consumption to mpg in realizing that TFL is an American production, no doubt. Now, which one of you is not now lusting over that Land Cruiser, besides me, I mean?
Hi Thomas, just stumbled over your nice J6 introdution. I am likewise a Landcruiser lover and drive a 96' HDJ80 here in Zurich/Switzerland. One question for you, where do you service your Landcuiser? Do you have a good knowledgeable mechanic/garage? Would be happy hearing from you. Cheers, Paul.
Luckily for me, I bought my cruiser as a single man. So when I eventually meet the woman for me, it will be a non-negotiable item. It's nice to see the Canadian sticker on the bumper. I assume the truck was imported from here.
I've seen someone do a 5.9 Cummins swap into a Land cruiser and put it up for sale in California but it wasn't a 60 series though it was a Cruiser from the 90s
This guy is cool! Great accent and way of putting things. But would I pay 44 grand for that "car". Not if I had Gates money. I don't care what you call it or how nostalgic you want to present it. It's still an old rust bucket! There's a second part to the old saying, "They don't make'em like they used to". And that is, "Thank God"!
Willys Jeep 1941 to 1945. " Land Rover Series 1 (1948-1958) " Land Cruiser (BJ) 1951-1955 " Nissan Patrol 4W60 1951-1960 They are all the same 😁 So in the engine or the I tell you old time
