This guy seems the most knowledgeable mapper from any video I've seen. I don't buy some other claimed tuners who manipulate Dyno figures or use inflated losses. His channel shows the mapping processes it's not recanned tunes. Awesome work, n55 sounds sick. Get this guy on more.
@@LivingLifeFastLLF Ricky please do some car tests there, especially the v8 cars such as camaro, z06 vette, gt500 etc. I bet someone will let You drive one there, just don't go to wild there with speed😂. The cops there are no joke lol
@CheckYourGear N55 is generally reliable, so long as the owner has maintained it properly. Never heard of even a N54 with problems at 30000 miles. Got one myself at 120k and going strong.
@@davereid8585 I thought it was more to do with people who go great lengths in competing to attain more money and material things rather than ordinary people who work to make a living. But that's all based off the rat race movie I watched haha.
The rat race is like falling in line. (society) regardless of if you're leading that race, you're still in that line of rats. Implying don't copy and be a sheep... He is backing up his thoughts behind doing his m2 up because most wouldn't bother and just go for the 3,4 or 5 series.
Hope everyone has an amazing year > Make your dreams come true and goals. Wish you all the best and living life fast you honestly need to drive peoples cars in the USA or something.
I'd like to see that too. The more Ricky's channel grows the more possibilities of seeing other people and their cars from different countries on here.
I've got an M4 now and used to have an M235i with this M2 engine. I sort of miss the sound a bit. I think the M4 can sound quite good at times though with a tune. But the N55 has a bit of a scream to it whereas the S55 is deep in the low revs with a loud trumpet sound up high.
@@NVMotorsportUK Top Gear lvl of banter I imagine 😂 'd love to see more collabs, do a roadtrip together or something. Cheers from Belgium where potholes replaced the road long ago ✌
I love the way the owner is VERY technically invested in the car. He knows how the car works, exactly what the software is doing. Perhaps a little too technically detailed for Ricky who usually just likes highlights. I prefer the more mechanical cars of the 80s/90s/00s era, but this is a good video just by seeing the results of the owner's work.
Best car review line ever,....start at 4:39,..."If you buy the same car as someone else,...and you're in a rat race,...even if you win,...you're still a rat!"! Instant classic.... LOL!! Edit #1: RU-vid for allow for a 3-stage degree of Likes! 1 Thumb! 2 Thumbs,...3 Thumbs! Edit #1: ..."you can adjust them (the seat bolsters) if you want to! I guess you're a bit bigger around the waist than I am"! LOL!
06:33 S55 and N55 don’t share the same bore and stroke. A S55 is 3,027cc and the N55 is 2979cc S55 is 89.6/80mm stroke. N55 is 89.6/84mm stroke. That’s what let’s the S55 rev the way it does over a N55 Also the reason a N55 sounds better than a S55 is because you hear 6 cylinders. With the S55 you hear 2 banks of 3 and no 3 cylinder sounds good!!
Dobbo banks of cylinders?...sounds like you’re referring to a V6, which the S55 is not. In both engines you’re hearing 3 cylinders fire, 3 at TDC, whilst the other 3 are at the bottom of the cycle 👍🏽
Nathan Simpson bank was the wrong term but no you’re wrong. With an S55 it’s twin turbo. Each turbo comes off 3 cylinders independently from the other and down separate exhaust’s. So you’re hearing 2 x 3 cylinders, hence why they sound shit. With a n55 all 6 cylinders feed the turbo and down a single downpipe. That’s why it sounds much better. With your incorrect logic an N54 should sound the same as a S55 and it doesn’t because the downpipes merge into one. Same reason a S54 sounds the way it does.
Nathan Simpson also it’s kinda poor if you think 3 cylinders fire at tdc at the same time. Shocking knowledge of how an engine works if you honestly do think that
Man great going through the LLF archives. Not normally an M2 fan but wow. Looks so so fast, but got the looks to go with it. #Looks awesome! A question for Nabbs do you do tuning for BMW e93 335 M-sport N54 engine?
