@Hunt the Shunt Delete all the settings for your pedals in Dirt Rally and restart. They initially come up in some kind of cursor mode. Once you delete them and add them back they should work. At least that's what I've read.
@@GamerMuscleVideos I thought it had that familiar, underpowered and slightly unreliable sound of the Honda F1 2018 RA615H engine. Takes a very particular set of skills to reproduce such detail with your mouth 😁
You might need an upgrade, I've got the gen z chip which is the best one. Even though gen alpha is out, the software in their chips has not learned enough to be better than the gen z chip. are you anything before gen millennial is slow nowdays.
The engine sounds are so good that if you close your eyes while watching a replay, it's nigh indistinguishable from watching real footage of these cars. That's a rare feat that essentially no other racing game has ever achieved, RaceRoom being the only other that comes close IMO.
It's coming this summer and hopefully it will be stable by then and hopefully I'll have a set of Heusinkveld Sprints by then and... and... Sometimes you just have to be patient. At least it gives you something to look forward to :)
@@olSnakeEyeslo I hear that a LOT. I think we get a bit spoiled by how much instant gratification there is out there. Amazon delivers the same day in some cities now. People want perfect software now and don't want to pay much for it or they scream No VR No Buy at the top of their lungs. Then when they are told VR support will come, it's not fast enough. This is something we do to have fun! I think we should enjoy things when we can and not get bent out of shape because not everything can be here quickly.
@@markkovalcson7243 Yeah I screamed no vr no buy in every video and look what happened, and i expect any decent racing sim to have VR at launch not 6 months later... the game is useless to me without it. VR is not being spoiled it's what's expected.
as someone who has played dirt every Day for at least an hour. I am utterly disappointed by the FFB. Am I the only one ??? Why is no one else commenting on the lack of surface vibrations and overall feel. The original dirt FFB model felt perfect like AC on the road. This is just a slightly improved D4 FFB version. I am honestly at a loss to explain why and how!?
I have brought this up a few times I hope its just an issue of needing a patch , the game is not doing suspention or tire fx like it did in the older ones. this can help a bit on some wheels - ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-PvTEiXextlM.html
this sounds like an absolute deal breaker to me.. i loved dirt rally ffb. the ffb in dirt 4 was one of the many reasons i couldnt get into it. im not in a real car feeling the real forces so i need to get that information through the wheel. even if its not what happens 'irl' it hasnt stopped other sims from doing it. it is common knoweledge you cant drive well in a true sim if it doesnt give yo information on how the car is handling/ grip levels/ surface levels etc... unless you have vr and a motion rig you need good force feedback through the wheel, and not only that but it makes it much more 'immersive' and fun.. please codemasters sort this.. i am not exactly sure what you mean gamermusclevideos when you say the game is not 'doing suspension or tyre fx like it did in the older ones' hopefully thats something they can implement and not something they completely excluded from the physics so have no information to give the wheel to provide ffb for. there are going to be alot of unhappy sim racers and dirt rally fans out there if they dont fix this.
It's a bug on pc and they're investigating, trust me it isn't like that on Xbox one X with my TX, the ffb is insane, had to turn it all down to 50 and below
Nice list but number 8 should have been the Menu. Codemasters always has simple but unique menus and I find myself staring at the little floaty thingys much longer than I’d like to admit. Saving replays and photo mode should be in game, hopefully it will return as future DLC.
I started a new job like 3 weeks ago, and I bought this a week ago and I want to play it so bad but by 6pm I'm so tired, my brain is dead and the little I managed to play it, was intense and exciting....I can't wait until Friday, I can have a 10 hour sleep and a weekend to smash this game apart :D I'm so happy they delivered, for once...Just give me similar to Dirt 1, and just improve the graphics please and the menu side of things - thank you!!
Commentary worthy of a spot on Top Gear! Entertaining and informative simulated motorsport journalism. 👍🏻 you pointed out some short comings that I’m sure a lot of us agree with, that Cody’s should maybe look at addressing in this latest and greatest rally title.
I love the game so far. The only thing that actually annoys me is how there’s no turbo flutter from lifting off of the throttle. Only when you change gears.
The game can be so frustrating when u restart for the 20th time cause u slightly touched the side of the road and your car flipped out...But can be so satisfying when u nail the turns at a speed where the care is almost uncontrollable...also im playing with keyboard so my fingers get almost exhausted till the end of some laps
One of the best "To the point" reviews Ive seen and so glad you picked out one thing I love about the game...the greenery! Vegetation emotion haha love it. The detail is stunning. I love the mud and damage too. But those reflections....arrrrgh.
PARTIAL GM QUOTE "This game has more bush"...…………………………………… that is COMEDY GOLD!!! right there ; ))) P.S. You simply have to watch this great video, for the rest of that funny quote - don't you ;D
Loved this video, love the game......but there being NO VIDEO SAVE for your blistering stage time and "Did I jus drive..like...THAT?!" moments....and the time i did a near perfect airborn cork screw roll at 100mph from left bank to right bank, landed and drove off like i meant to do it !...That is criminal ! i needed to be able to show...EVERYONE that slice of awesomeness !!!!
What's the point of those puddles though, if they trigger no reaction from the car whatsoever. And Project Cars 2 wasn't the only game that modeled the interaction. Even Dirt 4 did. Is this really the same engine? In my opinion they should have only left dry weather in the game and gravel only. That's where it really shines (except for those occasional cases of understeer you mentioned earlier).
after this epic video and fanatec promotion, I finally think it's time for a shifter to drive properly (paddles only since I sold the old g27) really sad that there's no VR, I want to drive, but I fear knowing all the corners come summer and spoil myself the fun in VR - what a dilemma!
Being able to watch back a stage is nice because it gives me hope that next time I might not even want throw my tv out the window while snapping in half my controller.
Playing this game with a controller will make you commit suicide. I play project cars2 with a controller and this game is way harder than PC2 lmao. It's really made for a wheel.
Pancouver venguins yeah I totally agree it doesn’t matter what settings you have it pretty much needs a wheel ps playing project cars 2 is pretty easy without a wheel imo
@@hannahtaylor5698 Yah I've seen so many comments about how they can't play the game with a controller and the cars don't turn lmao, yeah of course you're not going to hit a turn like it's need for speed or something 😂 most people don't understand how racing game work they don't understand you have to slow down before the turn not half way through it.
So far I'm hesitant to say I like this game, after playing through Spain and Poland. The turns and jumps and dips of Wales, Finland and Germany from Dirt Rally 1 are a lot more interesting. The driving model is adequate and the track condition modelling is interesting. But I'll know more after I play through the remaining 4 events.
Why did codemasters add cross platform leaderboards then gave pc gamers field of view options but no field of view options on console ? That gives pc gamers a massive advantage.
I wanna know the answer to this too and I'v never had the first one. everyone put me off saying it was too hard and had no content, but mainly that it was too hard. I like driving games to be hard but people were saying it was undrivable, yet I'v seen so many people who love it too. What to do.....
@@OffGridMadMan I would advise using a wheel and pedals. I tried playing the game with a controller and it was not any good. I def can confirm Rally 1 is amazing. I also have real world driving experience racing and drifting. I play rally with abs off, stability off, trac control off, steering linearity at -10, saturation between 30-40%. The game is not easy! You have to learn the track, each turn you take, you have to take in a way that it sets you up to take the next turn properly. I think I am gonna hold off on 2.0 until I beat 1.0.
@@GlycerinZ Thanks for the advice. I play other racing games so have a wheel and pedals, the G920 actually, same as yours but for Xbox. They're quite different tho I hear. I don't know how anyone plays with a controller. It sounds brutally hard and is £10 at the moment, might be worth a punt. I'm gonna wait for DR 2.0 to drop to something similar before I take a chance with that. Cheers!
@@OffGridMadMan Oh, thats great you already have a wheel! You should definitely pick up Rally 1!! Interesting, I heard the G29 and G920 were pretty similar. I never used the 920 so I have no clue. I would say to turn on all the assists, drive the car slow and get used to it and the track, and then gradually start driving faster, if you get uncomfortable with the speed, tap the brakes (even I still do that, you must brake in this game!). Just keep at it until you're comfortable going crazy! Then when you can finish a track without trashing your car and get 1st place, step it up and try slowly turning assists off. I will tell you that I restart tracks a LOT. I drive as quick as I can, the game is very unforgiving but I love it! I am a perfectionist, so this game (along with Gran Turismo) are perfect for me. Dirt Rally is, in my opinion, the best rally game ever made. I really hope you buy it, you'll love it. Cheers buddy!
@@GlycerinZ Our wheels are meant to basically be the same but they look different and the pedals are different, mine has a very stiff brake pedal which I like. I play Project Cars 2 mainly now so I like the more simulation type games and I KNOW that Dirt Rally takes no prisoners! If I get it I'll come back and let you know how I'm gettin on! Thanks for the advice.
I'll go out on a limb and say NO other racing game has engine sounds as good as the Dirt series. It's actually almost exactly like real life, including audio reflections and reverb. I wish every racing game had sound this good, but there's no game even CLOSE to this. Or Dirt Rally 1 for that matter.
@4:56 Those poor rocks are trembling with fear. Who knows how much abuse they have suffered on previous runs through the stage? We must encourage track side scenery objects to come forward and share their stories. It's the only way to stop GM causing more damage to innocent bits of scenery.
2 weeks in and tbh it's already really repetitive and kinda boring . Only 6 places to rally + tarmac physics are crap still and not to mention the A.i bug that has showed up . It really has some serious potential but overall I think they failed . I spent all my coins on the H2 GTI and made all the possible upgrades only to then learn there's the A.I bug and can't play with it. Had to start from scratch with the 1st car so I can make some coins back to buy another car
yeah i hope they fix this. its a deal breaker for me. i loved dirt rally FFB. im sure some people felt different, but to me it was pretty near perfect. dirt 4 FFB sucked and apparently thats pretty much what we have in DR2.0...
@@petrolheadl3856 FFB is not detailed. The worst thing about it is that although it is heavy, it feels too slow and sluggish. When doing a slide the wheel spins with too much inertia and always pulls me out of the road. In other sims like assetto corsa, the wheel kind of locks in place if sliding at the right angle and speed. When transitioning the wheel straightens up on itself. That is not the case in DR 2.
