Love this! Apparel designer and editorial director here- keep in mind the larger/trendy oversized tee look typically will have a larger graphic with POD if the graphic scales, so be conscious of sizes your models are wearing- that will make a difference in size of graphics. A lot of the mock-ups that can be purchased on Etsy are truly awful. Also font duos we call “font pairings” never stretch script fonts, try to pair a “fun” font with a legible font. Try not to use more than two fonts unless you know what you’re doing. Order actual samples of the garments so you know what color your designing on! Screens all have different color calibrations. Print out your graphics at full size to make sure they look good IRL. :) good luck everyone!
@@Aa-ke9pp I think best practice is to order swatch samples or blank samples of the garments so you can see the colors in person. Sometimes you can order these from the blank distributors. (Then you can even take your own model shots since you’ll have blanks on hand)
Dylan - great tips as always, but can you make a video on the one thing I have not seen 1 RU-vidr do: talk about how the seller has to cough up the money FIRST when a sell happens. Everyone and I mean everyone never brooches this topic almost as if they are scared people won’t do POD and not read into their hype about how much $$ they can make with Print-on-demand. I was in POD for years and trust me borrowing from PETER to pay PAUL is the ugly truth that no RU-vidr wants to talk about. Not only is it a topic that sellers don’t know about - it’s the ugly truth they find out the hard way. It’s a struggle to do this model. Suppose you get 500 orders only to realize you have to pay the POD manufacturer that money up front BEFORE they will ship the item to your buyer especially if you have an Etsy shop. Etsy will not release the funds until AFTER you ship. I’d love to hear stories about how sellers sustain this business model. Will you talk about this taboo topic?
@@dylanjahraus I would be curious to read how other sellers really make this profitable when they have to Front the money. I have asked other sellers in the past and they all say, they use their credit card to pay for goods. Not a good model when you have to figure out where your profit or cost begins and ends. It was a hard lesson I had to learn and NO RU-vidr is willing to share the real deal about Print-on-demand and what NEW sellers are NOT prepared for. New entrepreneurs just buy into the hype another RU-vidr focuses on to get viewers without telling them the truth about how it really works and allowing the user to decide if its the right business model for them or their pocketbook. I am sure it can be worked out if you have $$$ up front, but for my story, it was not feasible. Thanks for reading and considering this topic.
Hi today I start etsy business but I confused in keyword research please tell me which is the best tool for keyword research in etsy. And my 2nd question is how much minimum search volume to target for best results with how much product listing
Hiya! Thank you so much for all the great advice you’ve given. I would like your opinion on something if that’s okay. I recently opened up a Etsy store and I currently sell stickers, both digital and physical (print on demand) - I’m hoping to grow in the future with more products. I was just wondering what you think is better, print on demand or buy the equipment to print it yourself? Cos at the moment I do print on demand (Printful) but postage tends to be quite expensive, which worries me a tad. Thank you for all your videos, they’re all very enjoyable and informative ❤
Etsy is going downhill. My shirts have declined 33% in revenue since last year, and now even my $2 digital products have stopped selling. Etsy is fading or the Economy is bad. My SEO guy doesn't know what's going on. My listing are going weeks with zero views. He thinks maybe Etsy has shadow banned my listings from search for some reason.
Everbee is showing a lot of words in trademark alerts, like “seamless” and “patterns” and “cherry” (not joking, looking at it right now). Does Etsy cross reference with the US Patent and Trademark Office, and does that affect shadow bans? The patent office shows these are fairly new trademark applications, around a year old in some cases.
Sounds like you could use some help turning things around! Hopefully all of my free content can be a resource for you as you try to get back on track towards your goals! And if you'd like any additional help, reach out here: dylanjahraus.com/contact
@@StevenAvery4Life My shop is growing like crazy and I am not on social media (only because I am super limited on time) and I'm running Etsy ads with a low $20/day budget. I really think it depends on your product(s).
Hey Loved your videos I am an etsy seller and I am really struggling with getting sales. Can you please take some time out from you busy schedule and help me! Thanks! Hoping for a positive response from you
