He explained Taylor in a misleading way, she’s not re-recording her old songs to make more money, she’s doing it so she owns her own music since she never got a chance to own her masters. I don’t think it’s greedy to want to own your work.
That’s what I thought. Until you actually research and get the full story. She did get a chance to own her masters. Her dad was on the board of directors and offered give her masters to her before it was auctioned and she didn’t take it in exchange to go to a bigger label. This it was sold to the highest bidder (scooter) and when she found out he was Kanye manager she felt some type of way and then she made up this whole story making the masters she sold worthless and make more money with this ‘owning ur masters redo’ bs. Slave contacts are real in music, yes. But Taylor swift is not a victim of this 🙃 her whole family own the company she was signed too and she had a hand in the ownership of her music contact. Serious look this up she’s lied about this for ages.
Taylor swift is not greedy. Why wouldn’t she want to make more money if she can? People are willingly buying it and she’s not screwing anyone over so I don’t see the issue.
I think it’s misleading for him to say that Taylor is just re-recording her old music for money, she’s also doing it so she can own the music that she wrote about HER experiences since she is a writer. Also while he can call her greedy, he could also call her generous for giving $50 MILLION in bonuses to everybody who helped with her tour like giving each trucker who drove her set from city to city a $100,000 bonus!
In sorry but they said her movie ticket or whatever was $19? Beyonces Renaissance tickets in the theaters was $22. Most expensive movie i have ever seen in theaters. Smh its usually $10-$15 here.
there is no high demand for the same album being sold with different covers as a "collectible set". thats just capitalism at its finest. in my opinion i dont see anything wrong with it, its just an artist making money off of their own product, but the lengths she's apparently going to in order to do so definitely warrants the greed title fam.
@@RegReg02 i get it but clearly u don’t know her fans if you believe that. anything she’s tied to they want.. that’s the demand. plus all artists sells variants ie. beyoncé selling 4 different box sets for renaissance and they all sold out. if she was really greedy she would go into different ventures that’s even more lucrative outside of music like make-up or perfume like so many other artists are doing.

Scooter Braun owns Taylor's original masters. He screwed her over in many ways when she was signed to his label. For every sale or stream of her songs, some money would go to him. I don't blame her at all for wanting to own the music she made. She did try to just purchase the old masters and couldn't, which is why she's re-recording.
That’s not even true. 1 she was NEVER signed to scooter. He’s a manager not a label head. As a Taylor's fan, I don't disagree with OP that she's kinda greedy right now, but not the way the OP explained it. Her concert movie was an average concert movie price AFAIK. And her re-recording the albums was a move for her reclaiming her music. The thing that I agree is that she releases few versions of her albums , some with just 1 additional song each which imo kinda unnecessary. She could've just released the regular and deluxe versions ( with vault tracks in it). One could argue that's a business move though. The greediest thing she did was to put her Eras Tour movie for rent after her cinema release end. Like her movies was one of the best selling tour movies already and she's still squeezing money out of that movie😭. As of now, that movie is not in streaming platform yet (it will be released on Disney+).
@@humblegrind8 because she got the fanbase she's been building up for 15+ years. Her fans would always curious of what she's been up to and always try to decode her songs, this and that. She's really good when it comes to marketing herself. And she got her "story" Of being a victim, caught trying to play victim, from a nice good American sweetheart to a hypocrite liar then she made Her comeback with reputation album by doing all the interesting stunts like deleting Her social media posts, etc. Then her re recording drama. Even if there was a staged drama,, scheming or whatever, her musical career is so interesting to follow.
Yes she is milking this eras tour too much the reason why a lot of people were interested in was because she made it seem like at the end of the year that was it for the tour and we probably won't get another tour like that again. To find out she was doing a world tour of in tour. And i don't know if it was the streaming site, but you had to pay $20 again to only watch the movie for 2 days. I am a fan of Taylor as well, but the fact that she is charging her fans all of these and didn't even pay for her fans funeral that died at her concert, but her fans did makes me give her the hugest side eye.

I dont think the things Taylor Swift did have anything to do with greed. Shes an artist who deserves every penny that she makes. Shes not the only artist to re-record music because a label wouldn't give back her masters. Alot of artists have done that. As they SHOULD. But some of that other shit she was doing? Selling all those different copies of one album? THAT'S greedy.
to be fair i understand being greedy, everyone loves money, some people go the route of scamming people or making shady and fake businesses, but at least taylor swift is making her money with legitimate shit, not to mention she isn't selfish with her money i don't think, i heard she gives everyone who helps with her tours like a massive bonus or whatever, that even includes the truck drivers or the people setting up the stages
