I've been hunting since 12 yr old, that makes 53 years out amongst them. And I still appreciate your insights; make that one more call, walk like there is an animal right around the corner and get deep into the woods.

I am on what will be my 3rd attempt to fill a WA state elk tag this season (2023) as an archer. I am always feeling so fortunate to be in the woods even when i walk out with tag soup. I just got the metal bugle tube from Phelps. Immediately, i am feeling more confident with my bugles. Can't wait to have a story like yours! Even just to call one in would be amazing!

In the video you said you wouldn't have taken the first shot again if you could do it over. What would you have done differently? Also good for you for recognizing that you needed to settle yourself. It's small steps like that, that can have you shot hit the mark or be miss. Congrats on a Successful hunt. Keep grinding man.if you ever come to alberta let me know :)

Awesome man! You pretty much summed up what I was going to comment at about the 30 minute mark. That shot scene was pretty intense. You can hear the ragged breathing and see the shaky cam and limb tips. The accidental camera angle definitely brought some suspense and anxiety. End result is great I think.

I havent been successful elk hunting in my life hunting on and off since I was 12. Im now 32 and drew a decent tag in Wyoming. I am preparing more physically this year than ever before so I can peek over every ridge and gearing up so I can stay a night in the woods. This was good inspiration and good on you for sticking with it.

Congrats ! Totally true on the unrealistic perception people can have about hunting. Took a buddy out for his first ever whitetail hunt two years ago , by 10am he was pissed off we didn’t have a deer down , said he thought they came out at daylight and we should have shot one by 10am lol
