That's exactly what'll happen. After almost a decade of flops and failures, WB will cancel Gunn's universe. There's no way we ever get to see everything Gunn has announced for Chapter 1, let alone ever get a Chapter 2. If the Superman movie isn't amazing or doesn't make a solid profit, the entire rest of Gunn's DCU is doomed to fail and won't ever see the light of day
@@tonyilias2561agreed. WB had their chance to make a universe a decade ago and they blew it on Snyder. Now general audiences don’t care about DC, and Gunn seems to be targeting comic fans over general audiences. It’s not looking good for the dcu
@@Fnfbrudda34that’s all due to execution tho, appealing to comic fans is a potential good idea as with good writing you please both them and general audiences it’s a win win
screw dcu , and screw james gunn adn especially screw wb for rushing zack and ruining the best cinematic comic universe that could have been. superman legacy will bomb hard lmao wb will beg for henry to return the way they did that guy dirty along with zack
I swear to god, I just want to know which version of Flash is going to be in the DCU. I really hope Ezra Miller didn't ruin The Flash from showing up in the new universe.
I don’t think Ezra Miller ruined it but I imagine they will be doing a thorough background check on who to cast for Flash whichever version of the character they go with just so they can avoid any more surprise revelations
I think they should have Wally west be the main flash this time. And maybe have it that barry is "dead" or just weirdly never mentioned. Up until a reveal that he is stuck in the speedforce.
They will probably use both Wally and Barry. Barry will be played by an older actor and Wally will be played by an younger actor, similar to John and Hal.
It’s crazy that we already have more characters than the DCEU ever had. I think they only used what 30% of the characters in DC, James Gunn clearly wants to use 100%
I hope Nightwing and Tim Drake are in The Brave and The Bold. R’as al Ghul and Talia al Ghul as the villains in the movie. Batman blows up R’as’ base and R’as opens a tank, revealing Jason Todd inside. He should be the villain in the sequel DCU Batman movie with Joker and becomes an anti-hero at the end
I think they will probably skip Tim Drake. Making Jason's death be very recent would make Batman resistant to take Damian as a new Robin, while also not allowing Bruce to be that old
@@KingArthur39 No no no Tim Drake was already mentioned my man he exists there’s a restaurant that he owned in the comics mentioned in the Metropolis newspaper he exists.
I don’t think that we should reveal Jason Todd yet but more have a under the red hood storyline, or they could even have a Red Hood show with him just being a vigilantee and being Batman wihtout the no kill rule
This is a fully established universe where origins will be very few so I think we can assume it’s passed that whole thing with Jason giving that fact that Damien is Robin now
One thing i want from the dcu is for iconic couples to actually be couples. One of the best parts of my adventures with superman is that there is a will they/wont they, they're just together. I also want a batman and catwoman relationship that is actually normal, i want them to skip the part where selina discoveres bruces identity and just be a good couple. It would be different and refreshing if catwoman isn't just with Batman to get something, instead they are actually in love. Same with Nightwing and batgirl, Green arrow and black canary, etc
Exactly. Hollywood doesn't prioritize actual love and on-screen relationships anymore because they only care about independent girl bosses that don't need no man which is super cringe
I think they are just using the Ultraman name as a nod or Easter egg to the original character. They are definitely not going to use the crime syndicate anytime soon as I dont thunk they want to deal with the multiverse in the 10 year plan.
I love what hes doing hes giving characters multiple appearances to be fleshed out. Actually building up villains and getting us attached to them( as long as the plans work)
A lot of people jump to the conclusion that the mystery character in Superman is Ultraman or Ulysses. However, has anyone thought of Midnighter being a possibility? His outfit is very similar to the Engineers outfit. Furthermore, Gunn confirmed one Authority member appearing but could another member be in it and he’s just not telling us?
The "U" on the chest is really throwing people off about who the figure is. Personally, I think it's Ulysses because of how similar his backstory is to Superman, but time will tell.
I was actually thinking it’d be Bloodsport. He’s a Superman villain, he’s even more of a Superman villain when he’s on a Task Force X mission, and his weapon teleporter from the comics would blow the nanotech that Idris Elba used out of the water
Lex Luthor in a Superman movie is like Magento in the X-Men movies or Loki in the Thor movies. Lex is always keeping tabs on Superman’s activity even if he is not scheming.
I think someone should make a chart showing who everyone is and where they’ll show up. It looks like they’re making the movies/ tv shows like actual comics with characters in their own story or as part of a team.
If I had a nickel for every time Alan Tudyk played a non-human character that does/can not express emotions like a regular human, I'd have three nickels. Which isn't a lot, but it's weird it happened three times.
I hope James gunn pick one of these to play dcu's Batman(Oliver Jackson cohen, Brandon sklenar, Alan ritchson), and don't choose a short Batman actor because David is a giant. Make Batman either 6'2ft or 6'3ft, which is very appropriate, because David is 6'4.
Bro what are you taking about, both marvel and dc movies will flop next year, hard, this isn’t just a marvel problem, and yes, WB will cancel the DC universe again after Superman flops at the box office
I think the dark realism of The Batman with Robert Pattinson, clashing with the (hopefully) hopeful uplifting nature of Gunns Superman, could work well if done properly, have those two grow to be friends, Bruce becomes less angsty and they can form the Justice Leauge
I'm with you there. Having a second dark natured Batman(which is innately who Batman is) would be jarring from a public perspective and changing him would undermine the character and his typical dynamic with Clark. Pat-Bat is already active, already liked, and is on a character arc to be a proper hero ready to interact with other ones. Honestly, the set up is perfect. AND Pattierson isn't old.
I'm glad the DCU is very clearly Superman focused. The DCEU definitely started like that but quickly favored Batman instead. I think the protagonist of DC Universe overall should be Superman
@@tonyilias2561 it’s not that I mind a movie with many heroes and villains, but for Gunn to act like this is a fresh take and the studio felt Zach Snyder did too much too fast, it’s pretty disingenuous for them to act like Gunn is doing G something fresh and new. It’s going to bomb and I can’t wait to laugh. This isn’t my DC!
@@gregoryreed4866 you havent even watched the movie yet, didnt understand why these characters are even there but already assumed this isnt different to what snyder was doing while actually waiting for it to bomb & laugh? at this point yall are not even dc fans but just cringe snyder fans. i cant wait to see this movie succeed , would be such a burn in yalls asses. also u dont own dc so no it isnt yours.
I think guy gardener is gonna play a bigger role in the universe as i think he will be the connecting piece between superman and the Lanterns show and what they find there
tbh, i doubt they'd use Jenny Sparks in The Authority since she's basically the embodiment of the 20th century, but i can see them using Jenny Quantum, especially if she was born in 2000, which would put her in her mid 20s at this point.
It seems like Gunn is gonna build his verse to be more like Justice League Unlimited where we have the basic justice league but also a much larger cast that allows Gunn to focus on lesser known characters. I hope this means we get a Martian Manhunter movie and an epic historic piece for Hawkman/Hawkgirl
I hope that James Gunn will include Flash and Aquaman in his universe because we don’t know if they’ll appear. They are both founding members of the Justice League and are important characters however I think they should be recast. Jason Momoa is probably going to play Lobo and Ezra Miller is a criminal so he needs to be recast no matter what.
@@SyvesterMali 1 Keke can absolutely play late teens. 2 I don't think it's necessary to have most of the story take place at that time period. If they need to show the origins they can always use flashbacks.
Who Cares, Because Gunn's DCU is gonna be disaster Because for Snyder Fans, Ya Hack!!! #FireJamesGunn #BoycottDCstudios #BoycottWBD #RestoreTheSnyderverse
Harley Quinn will surely be recasted Samara Weaving could fit But I agree with the rest We have to see Robert Dubois/Bloodsport back teaming up with Rick Flag Sr. To hunt down peacemaker
So glad theyre actually going to have the Robins and maybe Cass and Steph, past DC projects have been so afraid to utilize them. lowkey hope they dont skip over Jason and Tim like the DCAMU did

I think they only used 30% of the characters in DC, James Gunn clearly wants to use 100% Marvel, and DC has done their best work stealing, borrowing, and parodying one another which baffles me as to why Warner Bros has refused to have taken the blueprint given to them by the MCU. The MCU built slowly, giving Iron Man, Captain America, and Thor their own solo movies focused on that character, introducing the tones & world of that character so the casual audience could understand and empathize with those characters as the MCU then built towards The Avengers and bringing in lesser known (to non-comic book fans) characters. Even Christopher Nolan knew to use Batman Begins as a foundation movie to set the themes for what his Bruce Wayne, Batman, and Gotham were all about. The Dark Knight will always be a masterpiece, yet it benefitted so much from Batman Begins being so basic in what it focused on. It never tried to have The Joker and everyone involved. The more I see this new reboot by Gunn, the more I fear it's throwing too much at the audience too quickly. With this many characters, a casual audience just won't care, each character won't have enough focus on them, too much will be going on, etc. I really hope Gunn and the team hit this one of the parks but it seems so bloated and overwhelming that I need Wonder Woman bro The guy hasn't appeared in live-action before either at @7:25pm to work on the next show's next episode is Hammer Frankenstein Series relic red/black/white Frankenstein trailer 2003 and 2002 he is the strongest hero in the world okay to show up okay.
With some of the leaked images of the Superman movie, it's hinted that Tim Drake exists here because there's a restaurant in Metropolis called the Wounded Duck, which was one of Tim's aliases.
I want more Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, Jeremy irons as Alfred, Steve Pines as Steve Trevor, Zachari Levi as Shazam, Pierce Brosnin as Dr. Fate. And bring over Grant Gustin as Flash.
There's more than 70 characters in the DC Universe. In Action Figures alone I have a 27, or 35 with all the Green Lantern members. Not counting Reserves. I have a 42 member Legion of Doom, I have a 20 member Titans, 8 Outsiders. Using all my Lanterns as Green Lantern Corps I have 20 Green Lanterns. I also have some Darkseid forces, League of Assassins, and others. On Earth 2 I have a 31 member Justice Society. And I can go on.
Lex Luthor again? Can DC really think of no other opponent for Superman if not Lex Luthor? Have DC's brains stopped spinning? Pathetic, I'm tired of it and fed up seeing Lex Luthor the villain of Superman!
I love how the cape is attached. It doesn't need extra polishing in post to look natural. In Superman and Lois show and even in Christopher Reeves' costume the cape looks like the costume team really needed a lot of work for it to be properly attached. MoS cape also looked good - the non-CGI one of course.
I am disappointed that there isn't a large focus on core Justice League characters in terms of movies. I mean I am not expecting myself to be able to keep up with TV shows and movies. I was hoping Green Lantern, Flash, and Cyborg would show up in terms of movies.
14:38 could be any ones guess but I'm thinking either ultra-morpho purely cuz if he is a character that can beat superman in a fight and metamorpho is in this movie and if you search ultra-morpho up on fandom his image has him beating up superman. or someone like unity from the animated series but I'm only thinking unity because of the U on there chest it could be any one though
Honestly I think there’s a problem with them introducing so many heroes in one movie. I think we need a simple story to hook us on the new DCEU. Superman is capable of that but if it’s too convoluted then it’s an issue.
@@nysimcharles33 Captain America Civil War was very different because there was a whole lot of buildup. The characters were established and why they had the stances they did was established. The scene was set. Around the same time as that movie came out, Batman Vs Superman did. BVS was not good in its buildup, it was that incarnation of Batman’s first film and even then there was still some slight scene setting due to Man of Steel, but nothing compared to the first 2 avengers movies and all the ones before that leading to civil war.
@@williammckinney5213 I’m just solely talking about the inclusion of new characters. There are only 4 heroes being introduced and if they help better tell the Story of Superman then it doesn’t matter. As Gunn said How can I show the sides of Clark Kent with the DP and His Family but Not Show Superman and his compatriots since he has a double life. They are there for a reason, not just for show and Gunn is great with big cast.
This is off-topic, but can you please do a video on what a Spider-Man cinematic universe could look like? I know you did something similar, but this is something I’ve always wanted to see you do.
i wish we could have a live action crises on infinite earths like they did on the cw but on the big screen and good that was we can have all of the batmen supermen the whole dc universe
Please no more race and gender swaps. There are many original diverse characters in DC. They can use that for representation (like Mr Terrific here. I have no problems with original black characters) and not race swaps.
I hope we get a different suit for Superman later on. While i can tolerate the trunks coming back, i can't accept the granny-panties-cut he's wearing. Its so damn ugly.
Glad James gun picked comic accurate people to play the characters instead of falling for the woke bs and turning every side character black or gender swapping them.
