tekken was fun and cool! pls subscribe :) - I hopefully want to do some stuff with Tekken creators in the future! here's the @phidx video I mentioned - ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-fO1IsvkUlI4.html ALSO here are the notes I took on Azucena, this was supposed to have a section but I was yapping too much so I cut it. It's from the patch at that time (the first/second week of March) so things in here are most certainly outdated - docs.google.com/document/d/1hbAY8mIK4j_v4DFpDw607bpCFFJjAkgq8N7em4fNtb8/edit?usp=sharing
Intentionally disconnecting has gone WAY down since they introduced a disconnect % display on the accept match screen. Crazy what a little accountability can do.
Way down? Really…not doubting u, but I’m still running into Disc. 5% and up. Hell I got paired w/ a Disconnect of 20%(not lying💯)😂…I denied that sh!t. Then I ran into a King player with 8% and reversed 3-0 him. And he plugged(in Quick Match)🤣
@@ahnixcreationstekken is the only game where bo3 just doesn't happen enough. Its almost like people have a false perception of their "skill". The attitude surrounding tekken is annoying and childish. Legit, almost worse than ssbu. SF6 has way more level headed players and a way better attitude. I always get a bo3 on SF6 with very few exceptions. Idk whats going on with the people that play tekken but entitlement and bratty behavior are rampant in this damn game. I hate that T8 is so fun, otherwise I'd drop it.
@@Aphextal93I almost always get at least 3 matches in tower in strive, and sometimes more if the matches were really fun. SF6 I've played way less, but often will get 5+ rematches when playing casual matches. Guess Tekken players are more insecure
Trying Tekken from a 2D player standpoint is pretty cool, specially with the design space occupied by quick low pokes. I'm not grinding to improve, but there's so much "stuff" packed into movesets that it ends up being a fun sidegame if you're fine with losing to gimmicks and learning to deal with them very slowly. I just wish Tekken had a combo counter and a punish message so I don't have to test absolutely everything in training mode. Or at least going straight to training mode against my opponent's character without going through multiple loading screens. Fighting game UI/UX is already lacking in general, and Tekken somehow manages to be the worst.
As a legacy tekken player at this point I wanted them to show it too it would help so much in learning the game for new players like just showing punish at the side if you punish a hop kick would help a fuck ton
The Tekken week was very interesting to watch, I really enjoyed seeing how someone who has gotten in really deep into multiple games approaches a very different new one. There were a lot of great lessons that are applicable even at my more casual fighting game level, and multiple very funny moments (like that great ending clip). I would love to watch more content of you branching out into other games in the future, when you can and want to. Congrats on hitting Purple, and thanks for the recap video!
I just started Tekken too with Tekken 8 being my first Tekken game. Reached Fujin (blue ranks) and man the payoff is so satisfying I’ve played many other fighting games before like SF6, and DBFZ back in the day but Tekken is the only one that’s so insanely satisfying to get better at. It’s also the most frustrating too but if you can get best all that frustration Tekken is something truly special
Tekken DOES have a tutorial. It’s the arcade quests. I was brand new to tekken as well and the arcade quests was great to teach basic gameplan and system mechanics.
@@LordKnightfgc The pacing is way, *way* too slow for an experienced fighting game player who's just new to Tekken specifically. I could see it being great for someone who's new to fighting games altogether, but it could use some kind of "skip to next arcade" option for folks who are like "okay, I got it, I don't need to repeat it 5 more times." I'm somewhere in the middle on that, caught between "I'm not remembering the juggle it just taught me" and "okay but this character has entire STANCES when are we getting to those"
You're my favorite Fighting Game RU-vidr. I started fighting games with DBFZ, then Strive, and now I'm playing Tekken 8. The thing I miss the most about playing Tekken 8 is not having LordKnight videos to watch.
Lots of good insight! I've watched a bunch of these videos on newcomers trying to get great at Tekken - it's always super disappointing when they drop the "got coaching from an old/pro player" part. 1on1 with a pro or veteran player is of course the best and I don't fault LK for using any resource he has access to - just a bit dejecting, it's something many players have no chance of utilizing. Still a great video, no hate.
Top players will likely have connections that we don’t but PhiDx the Tekken creator mentioned in this video has a bunch of fantastic videos to help newcomers get into Tekken and understand it much better
Yeah I think that's fair. I tried to approach it like I was going to main the game. My homie is not a professional player or anything by any means, I was just on a mission to improve hahahaha
Just a few days to Mighty Ruler when it was top 18%?.. Damn, I've treated this game like a day job for four months and all I have to show for it is a Fujin that isn't even top 20% now.
Not to drop video ideas on you, but I've seen a few of these 'pro tries new game' videos which are usually great, but I would love to see a pro take coaching from a lower rank player in a new game to see how that advice stacks up as well if the opportunity ever arises
As someone who just started playing GGST last year, I can vouch for the fact that it’s hard to get into, especially with all the DLC characters MU/ knowledge checking me. Dust loop has been a huge help however. 11:22
Tekken is that good good. Honestly knowing you and how much you like to lab, Tekken will provide you infinite enjoyment and replayability if you find some more time to dump into the game.
tekken input notation actually can help you a bit recognising what's coming your way. So if you hear that 1,1,2 from Reina is punishable, you can guess from notation that it's a string of left punch, left punch and a right punch. Most moves in the game incorporate limbs used to input them.
The sbmm in this game kills ranked for me. I reached blue ranks with my main yoshi and gave another character a go and even though I’m fighting in red ranks the people I fight against almost always have 200 thousand plus prowess. So you end up fighting super sweats playing their sub characters. So the rise from my original grind with yoshi is completely different to ranking a sub character as you never play someone who is on your level. The sbmm will generally always use the prowess to pair people. Really off putting.
Bro you're literally mad because you _are_ playing people at your level. Prowess is there to stop people smurfing actual new players like you're trying to do and you're tight because it works
