I too hope there won't be politics in this story about a company profiteering by selling weapons to both sides of a pointless conflict, where the machines of war are literally fueled by money. Or in which the dumbest person is a patriotic American.

If not, I think you’re watching way too many “everything is too political” content farm channels, because the TF2 comics are probably the last thing I would ever expect to get seriously political, yet somehow it was what you thought of first when hearing about a new tf2 comic.
the 'were so back' is just copium. It's a 17 year old game, abandoned for almost half its existence. It's clear this is a community project, with original writers coming along to emulate official content, which to be fair is practically the same thing in my eyes. I'm glad to see it, absolutely, but this game is by no means a new toy. If you have been around as long as I have, you'll realize it's all a fucking daze. We get scraps, get overjoyed, expect more, and are left blue balled for half a decade before we get even less than before. I do think there is some potential for valve to pay attention to tf2, especially considering what they have done for Half-Life for its 20th anniversary. TF2 MIGHT get ONE LAST balance change update in 2027. I'd give it a 10% chance considering half life is far more important to valve, considering they would not have gotten this far without it. Would not have gotten the capital to build steam into the monolith it is. Valve could have lived without TF2, but not Half Life.
With the title "Six Years Later" and the pose of the skeletons referencing where we last saw the cast; it could be a jab at just how long it's taken for the comic to update.
I'm assuming they started working on it in 2023 and wanted it to be a 4th wall breaking meta joke about how long it took since the last issue of the comic.
If this does end up being true, this means that I have finished middle school, graduated high school, and completed courses in college between the time the 6th comic came out and the 7th one releases... (I was a youngin' when discovering TF2) Insane.
Yep, discovered tf2 in fifth grade, read the latest comic in seventh grade, finally played the game (on pc) my freshman year of high school, and am now in college. Holy hell what a ride.
Someone remember that one leak we had about the last chapter of the comic? where everyone dies in a explosion, and the comic ends with two cave men, one in red, and other in blue fighting one another? Of course this leak was never confirmed, but seeing this first pannel with those 10 skelletons almost made me think this old leak was real.
perhaps it was a true leak that considered at some point but was later discarded, writers do tend to make many versions and rewrites of a story until they find something that works.
Yeah , i remember reading that leak , and honestly , it sounded kinda rushed in the end with a fiew questions left unsolved and honestly , i'm happy that this is not real anymore
I'm thinking it all has to do with that guy who sacrificed his Saxxy upon the altar to incur the wrath of Valve upon the bots. He might have also unknowingly revived the 7th comic's development as well...

It seems pretty unlikely Jay Pinkerton would just casually show off an important part of the comic such as everyone being dead through email, so my guess is that this part of the script is just supposed to be a visual gag. I reckon this scene is going to start with this shot to make you *think* it's Miss Pauling and the mercs, only to have the shot fired at the vultures be from her or one of the mercs, revealing they're actually alive. Honestly, it might even be an intentional jab at how long the comic's been taking to release. The whole "Six years later" thing is interesting though.
2024 so far has been actually great year for tf2, first the 64bit update, then valve starts taking notice of the bot problem (slowly), now the tf2 comics are confirmed getting worked on? It's too perfect. Something will fuck up soon

And then see to do something, as you said, then annouced it where going to start working on the game, TOO MANY bots we're banned and now we got this. The title being "SIX YEARS LATER" is kinda funny though, because if we were to look back when Jungle Inferno released, it kinda makes a total of 6 years since the last major update, 2017-2023. Might be just me overthinking, but damn..
Richter overtime had uploaded a video a while ago talking about a supposed “leaked” draft of the final comic. If you take a look at the images and the draft here with the knowledge of the “leaked” draft from Richter Overtime’s video, it seems to (kind of) line up with what the “leaked” draft has. I’m not saying anything, but it seems like it isn’t a coincidence…maybe. Am I insane?

@@crabot Yeah, it was late last night and I only skimmed past everything and got the impression it was community-made. I was wrong. We aren't 'SO BACK" like a lot of people think we are. The only thing we have going for us is that they made it to the illustration stage. Knowing valve, they've already done this at least half a dozen times. This is a nothing burger until it shows up, or we get a promise from valve that 'releasing soon' doesn't mean 'cancelled with extra steps'
then a month from now, when tf2 is finally getting light shown upon it, valve digs deeper down their rabbit hole and randomly drops HL3. like HL: Alyx all over again
I actually started crying seeing this vid in my recommendations. TF2 means so much to me & the comics were a big part of the reason I got into TF2, nearly a decade ago. To be able to see this story that I care so much about finally come to a close is something I never thought I'd see. I'm so glad there are still creatives at Valve who care about this amazing franchise
As someone who didn't get into TF2 until YEARS after Jungle Inferno I haven't had much official content to get excited about. So the news of something new like this makes me really excited! :D

Another reason why the skeletons can't be the mercs is because when scout is revived by God, he states a very specific date for when scout will die again, the one in question being nowhere near as close to the date these skeletons are shown in. And your kind of expected to believe the date God states scout will die because, well, he's God. But, hey. That's just a theory, a TF2 THEORY

im so happy with this news cause ive reread the comics like 10 times while wondering when it finishes. also for my theory i definitely think that page is just a dream sequence in either ms.pauling or someone else’s minds.
