Thank you so much for taking your time to make this video. In starting my own blogging website I found myself with a lot of questions. One of them being which direction to go in choosing to make my blogging website. You did such a good comparison review that I now know which option is for me. My personal favorites are WordPress and Bluehost for blogs and Blogger for casual use and Ghost for subscription revenue. What say you? Also, if you enjoyed the video consider subscribing, hit that like button and use the timestamps to jump around the video.
@@colindouglas7415 Ghost is niche specific. I really like the platform but it's only for people who want to blog and send blog posts as part of a subscription.

Obvi if you wanted a website it sounds like Wordpress best option but your video was supposed to be for blogs… so niche specific in what sense, I feel like I’m missing something here
What I'm looking for is an more academic blog - the result of a very long study, being told part by part, and collects in a whole. Basically what ever, non-fictional story is, but also add relevant things to the study, pictures, artwork. Is that all of the blogs, or does it bring to mind some specific one?

If you're trying to build a blogging based business, or at the very least a side income then a shared host like Bluehost and WordPress all the way. Blogger is good for personal use, it's free but it's difficult to rank and get traffic.
Which squarespace plan would you suggest if one intends to make money by blogging? Does the basic plan give an option to monetize the blog? Or would you rather suggest wordpress to beginner if blogging is the main focus.
Personal plan is fine. The business plan is for someone who want's to sell digital products or coaching products. But if all you're looking to do is blog and engage in content marketing, the personal plan is acceptable.

Google Sites would be fine for that. I would create a "blog" page and then have each addition page be a child page of blog so it's blog/page-title. There are numerous on-page SEO limitations with Google Sites however so don't expect to get much traffic.

I appreciate your 30,000 ft overview of blogging platforms. We want to move three successful blogs of 10+ years off WordPress to a platform that better allows us to sell premium content. It would be wonderful if you did a RU-vid series that specifically addresses how platforms handle premium content. BTW, you say, "etcetera" often, but you mispronounce it. It's not "ex-cetera". 🙂
@@loganross1861 We went with Ghost, and we're super happy with it. It has a simple, clean editor that is helping the writers express themselves without getting in their way.
One of the harsh truths for blogging is it really takes a lot of effort to do proper SEO, maintaining and promoting your blog, and after research alongside your tools, I also found this tool Bloghandy that has been helping me analyze SEO for my content and maintain my blog without any technical knowledge which makes me happy about it :)

On wix, is there some sort of feature which lets other people sign into your website...like make their accounts and have their page in your website....like instagram has
superb rundown + comparison of the many blogging options 👌🏽 you mentioned that blogger + tumblr don’t rank as well as the other independently hosted sites/blogs, so would that exclude them [tumblr in particular] from all the ‘make $500 - $10,000 a month blogging’ claims you see littered on youtube? might it still be possible to achieve or does the lack of ranking make it a near impossibility?
Hi David, I am looking for a simple way to share photos of my children/grandchildren with my parents who are not on Facebook (or any social media). Can you recommend some kind of app or website that I can post regularly to and only certain people have access to? Does Medium have good enough SEO? Will the blogs show up on Google Search? Can readers who find the blog posts hosted on Medium read freely as many posts from you as they want?
