I would love a Jem movie so much. I wouldn’t even mind if all the actors were in their 30-40 as long as they fit the part! The 2015 movie was the worst live action movie ever. Seriously how hard is it to capture the big outrageous hair and glam rock style of Jem?!
I say , try again, use the concept of the cartoon!!!!!! They’re not teenagers , but 20 something’s. With the success I’m sure the Barbie movie will have, there’s a chance for Jem again!!!!! Dream casting ideas anyone? I’d definitely put Mylie Cyrus in the role of Pizzaz. Kylie minogue in the role of Syngery …
Wow! This is my first time stumbling on your channel and newly interested in these AI inspired takes on old cartoons and such. This could definitely be used to storyboard the #JemAndTheHolograms we were promised, but never got, in the recent past. Here are my choices with some notes: Jem: No.1 looks the most like the cartoon and the original box art! (needs more pink around her eyes, but otherwise pretty accurate!) Jerrica: No. 6 (tho 7 is also pretty close), she looks similar enough, but also different so that we could better imagine how she is transformed by Synergy. Rio: No. 9 or 11, hard to pick, but both look pretty similar to the cartoon and box art! He definitely needs to be part or fully Latino/Hispanic, which is what he seemed to be in the cartoon, though it maybe wasn't always made so obvious. Kimber: No. 14, definitely, love the look that's both realistic and very close to the box art as well as you can get hints of her cartoon version as well. (**Spoiler** In at least one continuity, she herself was an AI-generated being) Aja: While I wasn't instantly taken with either, No. 17 looks closest. I don't recall if Aja was fully Asian or maybe part Asian and part white? That could affect how she's portrayed, but it would be cool if there was an actress like Olivia Munn or Peyton Lee in the role. Shana: No. 20 looks the best, though all 3 look pretty accurate! Definitely most like the cartoon and art of the original and not like the movie that will remain forever a stain on the IP's legacy. Great to see her big, beautiful hair has been restored! Raya: No. 23, but the hairstyle of 24 looks closer to how she had it in the cartoon and similar to the doll. It was sometimes tricky with her as she had pink hair like Jem, but it was usually styled in sort of a bigger way so you could tell them apart. Synergy: No. 25 or 27, really torn and while the outfit and hair seem very close to the original, I think her portrayal as having purple 'eyes' looks better than compared to when she is shown to have pupils. Gives her more of a computer animated or 'alien' look, which is best. Pizzazz: No. 30 looks the closest, though it is another tricky look to pull off with the green hair, which takes on different shades in the cartoon versus the box art. Definitely important to have the extreme face paint, especially the painted on eye-brows that make her look extra evil! Roxy: No. 31, but definitely needs a bit more teased hair and the classic face make up. She also looked most like Jem and could have tried to pass, although anyone would know, as soon as she spoke! Stormer: No. 34, just because she looks most like how she did on the box art with the shorter, curlier hair, but wish there was another option that gave more a cross between the box art and the cartoon, where her hair was longer and not as curly. Jetta: No. 35 and I agree that her character would make sense as either biracial or non-white to give the Misfits some more diversity. I personally saw her as being of British-Asian (South Asian) descent (like Zayn Malik). Eric: Another one that I didn't think looked much like the cartoon, but No. 39 looked the closest. His hair style needs to be a bit shorter and more wavy, less limp, perhaps. Hope you do a Part 2 with The Stingers, Zipper, TechRat, the Starlight Girls, etc.... 🤩🥰🤩🥰
Just to clarify, Aja is fully asian. according to the original Jem cartoon of Aja’s backstory in this one episode, it was shown that she moved in from Japan when we see her wearing a sailor school uniform, which a lot of school girls in Japan wear. plus in one of the Jem songs, Rock and Roll Forever, she was shown wearing a traditional Japanese kimono. (plus, NEVER EVER trust what Wikipedia says)
@@flytothemountains824 Thanks for your comment, though I don't believe I was quoting Wikipedia regarding Aja. According to the Jem Fandom Wiki, while it does appear Aja is of Japanese ancestry, there's an episode when they're in China and reference is made to her speaking Mandarin, but that doesn't mean she is of Chinese descent. Anyway, either way, it would be exciting to see her in live-action portrayed more closely to one of these, though (while I have no love for the 2015 mess), at least Hayley Kiyoko is of Japanese descent. Also, just learned that "AJA" was a term used during WWII meaning "Americans of Japanese ancestry" ❤💙
@@adlad75 fair point. (however, Aja is still whitewashed in the movie. especially since Hayley Kiyoko is part white) in my community post in my channel, i managed to do a restyle on the characters fixing their outfits, including in fixing the casting of both Aja and Shana
Thank you for your detailed votes and comments. It's really fun to interact with fellow fans on this. AI is so new and I'm so new to using it, that it can be challenging to make a perfect visual from prompts. I'm glad that some of these turned out so we can enjoy imagining what a great Jem movie can be. Check back again soon if I make a part 2, I'd love to try.
Actually pretty damn good. Though, I've spent years researching and developing my own Jem live interpretation using traditional techniques so this is a bit jarring knowing AI generated something similar in a day or so.
Now this is the Jem and the Holograms that should have been. Not like that...."Truly Outrageous " movie. And I don't mean the good kind of Truly Outrageous
Get outta here!! I literally thought that these were actual characters from an unreleased movie!! Dynamic work, they compliment the cartoon characters better than the actual Jem movie…❤
Jem= Ok Jerrica= Ok Rio Pacheco = No Kimber= Ok Aja= Ok Shana= Ok Raya= No (ella es latina,no americana) Synergy= Ok Pizzazz= Ok Roxy= No (parece lesbiana) Stormer= No Jetta= No (ella es caucásica y no negra) Eric Raymond= Ok
“wasn’t as horrible?” im sorry but i will not defend with the movie especially with how they whitewashed Shana and Aja, nor will i stand by the fact how this movie took away a lot of its important messages from the original Jem.
Why race swap Raya and Jetta? I'm not saying Jetta can't be black, that's fine. But Raya is Latina, and even in the original cartoon she had darker skin. It just seems odd. But I'd pick Jem #1, Jerrica #6, Rio #12, Kimber #15, Aja #18, Shana #20, Raya #23, Synergy #27, Pizzazz #29, Roxy #31, Stormer #34, Jetta #36, Eric #37.
Thanks so much for checking it out and your votes!!! For the record the race swap thing was not intentional. I researched/googled each character’s wiki’s and made sure to add their ethnic backgrounds in the prompt. For Raya I felt that it was acceptable since I’ve known many girls I grew up with that were Latina that looked like the result. For Jetta having researched her, she was described that in the comic, she is “African British,” so I went with that fact. Thanks again for watching!
@@DracoStarzJetta in the original cartoon was SUPPOSED to be originally Black. but due to how there were rules in 80s television at the time that it would be offensive to have a black character as a villain, they had to make her white
