My bad, turns out the Bean boots can be resoled despite not being made with Goodyear/storm welt - but only if you send them to Bean themselves! Also, check out the 10 best boots on the market overall: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-9kuHyyefNGE.html
I own a pair of the 1907 and the welt top stitch isn’t stitched on to the upper. It’s just stitched through the welt. It’s a faux stitch for show. I was very disappointed after I realized that after a few days
So many options, thanks Nick. I especially like Tims, great for Boston winters, but I get the 8 inch version. You see Bean boots a lot around here, I tried them but the fit wasn’t great.
The Timberland truly are waterproof, I had mine on today near the river and they got a bit muddy so I just stood in the river for a few minutes to wash it off. Not a drop came through.
How lond did you keep each boots in the water? Because it depends how long they are in the water. I work outside and i have tried over 20 different boots that say they are waterproof and when it is pouring rain all day they do protect me but just for a couple of hours after that the water eventually starts to go in. I have the timberlands they work for a couple of hours only. I am looking for ones that you can keep ur feet completely inside water for over 10 hours.
3:05 Actually, you can send the Bean Boot back to the manufacturer to have it resoled if you still have a receipt of sale. They’ll replace the whole bottom of the boot from the rubber down.
I think the best Red Wing Heritage boot is the 2927 Sawmill in Briar Oil Slick Leather Moc Toe Boot. Unlike their other Moc Toe boots, this boot has an insulated lining. However, it seems to have just recently been discontinued. This boot had a Goodyear Storm Welt construction, and a full waterproof liner.
I wonder what your thoughts would be on Schnee's boots. They make a couple of styles of course, but would probably be best compared in the duck boot category.
I just ordered the Alllen Edmonds Chapman based off your review -specifically the the black combat boot. I have not seen many reviews with regard to it all I see is reviews of Allen Edmonds quality control may be shotty, not necessarily with these boots but with certain styles of others ... as the other reviews seem dated. Hopefully I will be satisfied. I have purchased various versions and styles of Thursday boots based off your recommendation and reviews and I am not disappointed. Keep up the good reviews.
From my experience, there is no such thing as a waterproof boot that has laces. For anybody that's trying to find waterproof boots for a full work day, you're gonna want to find some pull on boots. "Waterproof" doesn't mean the same thing to the guy who's selling it as it does to the guy who's buying it.
BUYER BEWARE I own a pair of the 1907 and the welt top stitch isn’t stitched on to the upper. It’s just stitched through the welt. It’s a faux stitch for show. I was very disappointed after I realized that after a few days
Would like to see you test Timberland premium "waterproof boots." There is no Goretex or other waterproof liner yet they say WATERPROOF. It's phony advertising. There is a huge difference between truly waterproof and water resistant. I don't know how they have gotten away with this at best misleading claim all these years. Not saying the quality of the boot is bad, just saying waterproof it ain't.
I currently live in indonesia and trust me they can resole all boots...i have resoled all my boots that people say cannot be resoled..... Even i resoled my basic converse with vibram sole 😆....
You do not want waterPROOF boots if working. Anyone can line a boot with Saran Wrap and call it waterproof, but you WILL end up with wet feet. Think about it. Feet sweat.
@@vianouche1 Plenty of people need boots for a variety of things. Sometimes function supersedes form. Just because _you_ don't need it doesn't make it unnecessary.
