Absolutely one of the best history presentations I’ve seen. I like the way you used the maps, sketches, and pictures throughout your talk. I really find your channel to be very uplifting and engaging. I can’t wait for the next video. 😊
This video was amazing! The views from Printemps look like they might rival the views from Galleries Lafayette. Now I’m going to view all your other arrondissement videos. Thank you Arielle!
Arielle I just got back from Paris right before the Olympics started and I had a ball I was in the 9th arrondissement I enjoyed the vibe . I’m studying French and I’m glad a came across your page I love French history. You’re doing an excellent job. bon travail Regards Samuel
I appreciate that you go through the history of an area before doing the tour. I already know a lot of the history from spending so much time in Paris (I am a history geek) but there are always new things I learn from you. I used to love August in Paris. Yes, a lot of closures, but I loved feeling as if I sort of had the city to myself. Architecture, parks & many other things came into focus in a way that isn't possible with the busy congested streets when the city is not en vacances. And so many of the musees lacked their usual crowds which was a real joy. I especially remember an intimate day at the Musee de Rodin which was amazing.
Ah im so happy to hear you were still able to learn some new things! its so true to August is honestly a great time to explore places and sites that are otherwise completely overrun 😂
these videos are brilliant, I have a friend coming to Paris and made her sit through all. nine lol, but she has found them so very valuable and has set her itinerary so a huge thanks.
The best arrondissement in Paris! Living near the bottom of Rue des Martyrs, I can get to Montmartre, Palais Royal, or Opera in 15 min, but why would you want to leave? From Rue Cadet, Rue des Martyrs, the Passages, Av Trudaine, Rue Notre Dame de Lorette, St George, etc. The best coffee, restaurants, food shops, and bars, etc. 😊
Thank you so much 🥹🫶 you know people ask me all the time give tours but I would feel like a scammer because I already put everything on RU-vid for free 😂 but maybe some day hahahaha thank you for the lovely comment ☺️
I stayed in the 9th I loved it touristy and residential I ran along the Place de la Concorde everyday. ,Hotel. Paris the best. restaurant for just coffee or meals. I walked everywhere from there I adored it I would stay there again in a heart beat
I have been to Paris nesrly 20 times and I still learned new things! I've made notes for next time. My husband proposed in Chartier, one of my favourite haunts.
Thank you for sharing this great video. In October I will be going to Paris for my first time. My Air B&B is in the 9th. Your video is going to be very helpful.
So well done! Thank you for your hard work, Arielle! I lived in Paris for 4 years and, you are right, so wish I knew more history about all the places we visited daily, it would have added to the experience.
Wow…. I have just found you!!! What an informative, interesting, intelligent vlog. I am 55 years young and it is my dream to visit Paris one day. I will definitely be watching your other vlogs now. Thank you, from a very appreciative Aussie 🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🦘🦘🦘
Thanks for the video. I just came back a few days ago (3rd trip to Paris) and stayed in the 9th for the last part of my trip (near square montholon). First time staying there and will return for sure (missed a lot after seeing your video but enjoyed rue Des martyrs towards KB coffee shop). Really good overview on the history of the area. I learned a lot.
i'm coming to paris next week and staying in the 9th as I have been the last few trips. i think of it as a convenient place to stay to get to more central arrondissements, but never really explored the 9th itself. i will check out notre dame de lorette and nouvelle athènes. thank you!
I love these videos, I know they take a long time but it's evident as to why. Your in-depth historical research and composed narrative is fantastic and truly engaging. I watch several content creators that are showing this & that about living in Paris but you have a more unique take with a personable style, showing deeper content to what Paris is without all the insipid navel gazing (I won't name names). You are adorable (I say this every time but it's true). Can't wait to see the rest.
thanks for the informative and lovely presented video. I think some maps are missing, especially one which shows the 9th arrondissement within paris. b. borchert
Hi Arielle, I really enjoy your history of the arrondissements. I am traveling to Paris in October 2024. We are staying in the 19th Arrondissement (can't change the location without a charge). I have now learned it is not the safest place to stay. Would you happen to have any advice on safety for the area?
Honestly there are some really AWESOME areas in the 19th you will love it. Make sure you check out the canal and the park de la Villette ! There are certainly some less safe spots in the 19th, but there are spots like that all over the city so don’t stress ☺️ you’ll just want to avoid hanging out around the train station and the metro station Chapelle
“AVP” means “avant première” which js before the official release. “VO” means original voice which if it’s an English movie will be English with French subtitles ! I hope that’s clear ☺️
Very informative, but PLEASE, stop flapping your hands around while you talk ! It's bad enough the French do it, but at least for them it is a genetic flaw... You look more like you're explaining tomorrow's weather.... ❤😊
