Such a great wee Ufo story on the A70. Scotland really does have a lot of Ufo stories. Such a great RU-vid channel you've created and I know there are more eerie stories than you can shake a stick at of Edinburgh and Scotland. Lang may yur lum reek.

When i try and think about stuff like this, blows my mind. Heard talk of how our ability to see the visible spectrum is so poor that there maybe are things that could be living among us and we can't even see them? 🤯 I remember reading somewhere that out there, in the universe Star Wars is actually happening - the universe is *that* big.

That's an interesting and different story to your usual fare - I liked it. Presumably the films are 'borrowed' from other sources, rather than using your usual cast of friends? They certainly bring the tale to life, but I didn't know you drive on the American side of the road in Scotland? Or will that come after independence?

'American' horror film 'The Jacket' 2004 - bits of it were filmed at the old Bangour Hospital- in the background of one scene, if you know what to look out for, you can see a main road with Scottish traffic pretending to be American...(For those who don't know Bangour was a big hospital used for medical cases and as a mental hospital and was at Dechmont near Edinburgh. A very creepy place last time I saw it- they were going to build a large housing estate on the site. Don't know if they ever did..)

@@olwens1368 Bangour Village Hospital was originally built as a psychiatric hospital but was taken over by the War office during WWI to house and treat wounded soldiers. It then returned to being a psychiatric hospital until WWII, when it was requisitioned by the War Office once more. It was during this time the prefabs were put in place in order to cope with the sheer number of wounded troops. After the war the prefabs became the General Hospital and the Village Hospital returned to being used as a psychiatric hospital(both my maternal Grandparents worked there, my Gran during the War and after, my Grandfather once he'd returned from the War.) There used to be a railway (which was opened in 1905) which ran from the rear of the Hospital, and cut up the side of where 'Goodall Crescent' is now, and up the line of Knightsridge Road, swung round by Craiglaw and joined up with the Bathgate - Edinburgh rail line at Uphall. It was used mainly for the transport of coal and oil to help keep the hospital running, though during WWI was also used to transfer wounded soldiers to the hospital. It was ultimately abandoned by 1921. They have eventually started work on the housing. I believe they are looking to save as many of the Villa's as is possible, to renovate them into 'affordable apartments'.

I used to live in Dechmont when i was a wee laddie at the time of the Dechmont Law incident. I had just turned 6 at the time and i remember it well. It was all the village was talking about for weeks. My Dad who was in the Police at the time knew the Officers involved in the investigation and all were convinced that Robert Taylor was telling the truth about the incident. Dechmont itself was a strange place. I experienced a few supernatural events in the house we lived in and just around the corner from us, my (now deceased) Aunt also experienced several happenings. One happened while we were visiting her and my Uncle. There was 8 or 9 of us in the Livingroom at the time. We moved out of that house in 1980, but i remember those happenings as clearly now as i did back then.

I used to live near West Calder so know the area a wee bit. There are a lot of untold stories and some truly bizarre ones (Cairnpapple running man) from that neck of the woods.
@scottw.3258
@scottw.3258 9 месяцев назад
@@eerieedinburgh I used to live in West Calder myself, through the 80's. I know of 'the clanking stanes' up near Cairnpapple. It's meant to be two soldiers from the War of the Three Kingdoms who can be heard having a sword fight at the full moon(in June or July). My dad has some stories of when he was out on Nightshift(he was stationed at Bathgate), his beat took him up around Stoneyburn. The two of them were just doing their rounds, checking in on one of the local farms, when a horse and rider came galloping down the road towards them. They stopped the car so as not to spook the horse(it looked that real), as it passed them they realised the rider was in 18th century dress - jack boots, dark grey overcoat, tricorn hat. They got out the car to see where the horse was going, but it had vanished. As they stood there, they heard the sound of more hooves galloping, and they saw 4 or 5 horses with rider all dressed in similar period to the original one seemingly galloping after him, though this time they were in the field. they stood watching them, shining their torches on them as they galloped past before vanishing at roughly the same distance down the road to the first rider. There's also reports of a Roman Legion being seen on the B7008, just off the Lang Whang, heading down towards Harburn. There's the remains of a Roman fort down that road on the right hand side(only a few hundred yards from the junction) It's been said that they're seen marching too and from that fort, though i've never seen it myself.

@@eerieedinburgh I'm certainly more than willing to share the stories which happened to me, personally in Dechmont. One happened when i was 2 or 3 year old. I recall it as though it was yesterday. Another happened when i was 6, it was the ghost of my not long deceased maternal grandfather, but it wasn't him, it was something pretending to be him. The other main one from Dechmont was at my Aunt and Uncle's house. Certainly if you want to read the stories, i'd certainly share them. I've never found out much about the 'clankin stane' to be honest and my Dad's telling of the horsemen was as brief as my mention of it.

It's a long empty unlit road at night to be on. Could imagine a lone car could present as an easy target for an alien vessel. At least they were put back unharmed. Witnessed uap objects coming from that direction when I lived in Wester Hailes on two separate occasions, three years before this A70 incident. They were big, bright rapid and silent. Must have flown straight over the city at multiple machs and out to sea which makes me think military or civilian radar had to have seen them.

I used to live just past West Calder and drove that road on the way to and from work. When i lived there i remember seeing two lights, high in the sky travelling west to east and staying equidistant the whole time until they disappeared over the horizon. So little light pollution compared to Edinburgh, makes you wonder whats going on that you cant see...
@jasonladd6400

@@eerieedinburgh It stuns you when you see it, although I always had an interest in the subject. Had an object go over my current house one evening, a slow moving bright amber sphere. I crossed over the road to watch it as it passed and it blinked out but I could still see its outline. That road from West Calder to Forth is another quite desolate road I know from the 80s. Biked it a few times at night on a little 125 freezing. Glad I wasn't abducted lol.

My faither was in the Police from the 60's and retired in the late 80's. The things he told me he saw in the sky when on nightshift is incredible. They always come from the South for some reason. He saw 3 lights, making a perfect equilateral triangle one night. He and his partner was was a devout Christian and laughed at the idea of 'Aliens' stood and watched, as these lights would separate, rejig themselves and come right back into the triangular formation. He got on the radio to Bathgate and told them to contact all the airfields to see if there was anything in the airspace at that time. Nothing was reported as being in that area. He said they watched these things for 10 minutes, before they once more settled back into formation and started to pass overhead without a sound, as they turned to watch where they were going, they shot off and were gone within 2 or 3 seconds. I had an incident while camping with a friend at Loch Doon a couple of years ago. It was a beautiful clear night, not a cloud in the sky and we were talking about the possible existence of Alien life. They laughed it off immediately, so i asked them why they were so sure? I went on to say "just look at the sky tonight for example, all these hundreds of millions of stars..." as i looked up, there was this white light, way too high to be an airplane or helicopter( this thing was miles up) on a steady course and moving faster than i've ever seen anything move across the sky. I pointed up to it, and asked them what it was? Their response was that it wasn't a UFO, so i asked them again what it was? They didn't know, so i told them it was a UFO. It wasn't necessarily Alien, but it was Unidentifiable. I checked to see where the ISS was and it was over Western Russia at the time. It may have been a satellite, but it could also have been an Alien craft.

I don't buy this story, why are the these Aliens always naked ? And the technology always sounds so electromagnetically dirty, I think if they had travelled several lightyears, they would have mastered an anti gravity technology that doesn't burn everything in a 100 meter radius. And really the police went out of their way to investigate this, including a polygraph test ? I sure hope they're not spending our money on stuff like this. I do however think the case of Robert Taylor is compelling, Ive seen interviews with him and he seems a genuine person, and his story isn't full of tropes like this one, it's a very unusual tale.
