💡 The Aardvark:
The aardvark (Orycteropus afer) is a nocturnal, burrowing mammal native to sub-Saharan Africa. It is the only extant species in the order Tubulidentata and is one of the few surviving megafauna from the Pleistocene epoch. Aardvarks are characterized by their stout, pig-like bodies, long snouts, rabbit-like ears, and powerful claws.
They are primarily herbivores, feeding on ants and termites, which they excavate from their underground nests with their long tongues and sharp claws. Aardvarks are solitary animals, spending most of their days sleeping in their burrows and emerging at night to forage. They are relatively shy and rarely seen by humans.
