The more I watch your videos, the more I am disgusted by this country just turning its back on entire cities & selling them out. 😖 also leaves me with more questions than answers
Me too, me too. I find it so odd. Some of these are not that old, unfinished yet we have an overwhelming homeless crisis. You know land surveys and all of that stuff was done prior to building. So what IS the REAL reason for the abandonments. Things that make you go hmmmmmm.
Has more to do with local government and policies than the country. Once manufacturing and jobs are gone from the economy, where are the residents supposed to work?
The man that did the interview for you was pretty nice to do it. You should have asked him if you needed anything while you were there. You might have gotten more likes, but it was a good video I'm sad to see our government doing that kind of stuff but doesn't surprise me😢
When I lived in the St. Louis area, from 1994 to 2001, I had never seen such a dysfunctional area with the city, county, and the surrounding communities not working together to better all. I'll never go back to that has been place.
At the other end of the airport was a big 9:22 portion of the city Bridgeton in that area all of the single-family homes were bunchtorn down leaving behind a bunch of fields winding through empty frlds. There was done dumping theyr too? But not nearly like zkinloch
The city of Chicago tossed homeowners out of their homes around the southwest corner of O'Hare Airport . Dug up a couple grave yards just to build new runways over the cemeteries . Most of those properties weren't even in Chighetto . They were in Bensenville,IL. 😔
Hey man great video next time you come through give me a heads up and ill show you some other places i know also in the bridgeton buy outs theres a park that the city blocked off and is an interesting view
Where they sent an Elementary School home like they had run into something dangerous? If you are talking about what I'm talking about, well it's very interesting
I bet in addition to systemic racism, the area is contaminated by the Nuclear waste from the Manhattan Project. The same waste that is in the West Lake Landfill. I think there was a dump in Kinloch that was used too. The sketchy contractors they hired to get rid of the waste put it in sketchy places too.
One of my dawgs got stopped by Berkeley Missouri and "Charles" had a warrant a 10-99 from the city of Florissant Missouri the cop let "Charles" go because that officer didn't like Florissant Missouri 😂🤣😂🤣
I grew up in Kinloch first living in the Boaz apartment. Then we moved to the Manors apartments across the park. That was back in the '80s when it was beautiful and peaceful before crack cocaine was brought in by the government.😮😮😮😮 Barrett Brooks and I both came out of Kinlock and we both graduated from Kansas State University and play football together. We miss came by. Did you know that it became one of the top three most valued land in the country. That's why there are so many factories there in a found minerals in the ground decade ago. It was all part of the plan to get the black people out.
The effects of politicians who have no idea what the hell they are doing, only lining their own pockets. And, how many mattresses to people go through to just dump?
"Take back their town"? With what? Who's tax $ are gonna support it? Certainly not the free loaders that lost it in the first place. Take back their town. Whatta hoot 😂
I grew up not far from here, yet til today I didn't know it was there. Sad really. Also that old blue car looks like an Nash, someone should try and save it.
Why doesn't anyone do anything about it?. They did the same thing in Garden Grove, CA.... around the city.council.area... used eminent domain which was bogus but because it was.them.that caused the so called blighted area. My best friend's. house is still vacant him and his mom lives there 60 yrs. forced to move out of state...sure do miss them. It is.NOT RIGHT
How sad .. you wouldn't find a town like this in the UK .. I know there are many abandoned and derelict homes here, but whole towns? I could understand if Kinloch's remoteness was it's downfall but that doesn't seem to be the case. I fear that this situation is the result of (as you stated) local government/political action and the need of large corporations looming for stand-alone areas for warehousing and distribution facilities .. Thanks for the work you put I to your uploads. And a view int what's going on in modern day America, find it really interesting and equally disheartening. ✊🏼
How dare the government come into a town and treat it like a trash dump. But try to stop others from doing the same. The corrupt government is disgusting
The other side of warehouse was home to another black community called “ Robertson Mo” you gotta get more info on that I ain’t old 😂 down the street from that was a black community in Berkeley called Wyndhurst & Terrwood & Springdale but Berkeley & Kinloch we all family
So, if you get control of all the property, what are you going to do with it? Looks like a great place to listen to airplanes and store illegal garbage.
I grew up very nearby here. My mom worked here for awhile at one of the last place that was a running business and ive even spent a little time in their "jail", just the old elementary school. Was wild seeing all this happen in real time.
Do other black community too Like Meacham Park, North webster grove, West Bruno (Richmond heights), Maplewood, Howard Evans Place, Pagedale, Vinita park, Wellston, Velda Village Etc some of dem demolished or rebuilt or still around ima youngster
That the government for u.. That's exactly why when u vote, it should be for whichever politician wants smaller government. Because when they have too much power, this is what happens.. It's crazy..
You would think the county at least would make an effort to clean up all of that trash. The amount of garbage makes it seem like an open air garbage dump.
As a recent transplant to STL (a lot more industry here than you might think, especially in finance, auto, aviation, and defense) I think one of the big reasons there is so much garbage there is because there is no public transfer center in the county. If you want to haul away junk or large items you need to either schedule a pick up, which can take weeks while it sits on the curb, drive it yourself and pay per ton, or pay a junk guy to get rid of it for you. I'm sure lots of people know this area is effectively abandoned so they just bring it here and dump it for free. Shitty behavior, but also shitty governance
It's wild. I've worked with people who would talk about cleaning out a relative's house after they die and just dumping it it Kinloch. Didn't get it at first because I live across the river in Illinois. I thought there must be a big landfill dropoff, but nope, they were just throwing it on the side of the road.
Im from and live in st louis also a uber and lyft driver so i ride these streets a lot i pray we can come to and buy this back and the city of wellston
Go to some more black Community Like Pagedale/Vinita Park/Hanley Hills/ Elmwood Park ( King Park )/ Wellston/ Pinelawn /north woods/ Jennings/ Velda/ Hillsdale/Bel-Ridge/Breckinridge hills Their also more in outside of north county like Ucity ( Olive blvd ) West Bruno ( half of it replaced by Benards ) Meachan park North Webster grove
FYI don't drive through Brooklyn Illinois because of the stench of human decomposition will knock a vulture off of a utility pole. 😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣🤫🤫🤫🤫🤫🤫🤫🤫🤫🤫🤫🤫🤫🤫🤫🤫🤫🤫🤫 I'm a native St Louis boy Dexter Lombardo out 🤠
I from kinloch / Berkeley in St. Louis Missouri it’s depressing seeing my community like dis I remember the Gateway / Boaz Projects ( Apartments) on mable ave
The first blood set/ hood in St. Louis Missouri from Cali to STL ( Kinloch/Berkeley) back in 1985-6 their used to be more projects wyndhurst, terrwood, and more community like Springdale & by Berkeley high school that was demolished Also you can go to the Robertson Missouri too in STL also one of the first
The Minnesota state government did the same exact thing back in the for the Minneapolis airport. And to this day they have not done nothing with the land almost 50 years later
Again, 30 FPS and constant panning gets annoying, had to stop the video. Looks like an interesting place though (at 3 minutes in). Also chewing gum while talking, I can't listen to that.
