Get ready for another massive multi-part series as we begin our explorations of a surprisingly enormous abandoned mine. We knew this mine would be big, but not this big. In our first trip, we spent about 12 hours underground and walked several miles of workings. Time constraints forced us to leave this one unfinished.
The Lexington Mine was not just a single mine, but a large complex of varying operations all interconnected by stopes, ore passes, and drifts. The workings are complex, confusing, and there are no maps publicly available. Even after 12 hours underground, we're still unsure of which mine we were actually in and which levels we explored.
I often see viewers ask if we ever get lost in abandoned mines. Normally this is not at all an issue; re-tracing your steps is usually very straight forward. But not in this mine. This is the first mine I have ever explored where I was not confident in my own ability to find my way out.
Not only was this mine massive, but it was also packed full of interesting artifacts including certain items that I have never seen in a mine before. We think we are the only explorers who have made it down to some of the deeper levels we explore, which you'll see in the later videos.

Hi Graham, so much to see in this mine with every turn, if it keeps going down like this then I recommend when you pop out the bottom that you just lay in the sun for a while on the beautiful Australian beaches they have lol. A brilliant episode, thank you for sharing, much love. xx 💞

The way this mine just keeps going down and down reminds me of the "Mine Explorers" in the mines below Tombstone. Getting in to one of these mines would be so interesting. Thanks for taking us along.

Always amazes me how much they can take out and it doesn't just fall down. Some big stopes in this one.

Nice to check all those names and see if you can place them in a family tree, if you also put that online then you will get many more visitors than you already have. In my own family tree I have people who seem to have disappeared from the face of the earth but may have gone to the Yukon and other places driven by gold fever.
