I'm going through a Udemy intro course to HTML and CSS. They get pretty deep right away and didn't explain that HTML is for the FRAMEWORK, CSS is for the STYLE and Javascript is for the FUNCTIONALITY of any given website. Awesome explanation, this is really helping me understand. I have a question: How does the browser know where to look for the .css and .js files (and the image source file)? Ie. How does the environment work for coding web pages? Does it just automatically search in the same folder as the Html file which references it?

Great tutorial! Just an FYI for Windows users following along, pay attention to the file you're recalling (whether they're images, .css or .js files) You have to include the correct extension for them. Your browser won't know what "main.css" is if it is a text file - it needs to be saved as a text file and recalled as "main.txt", not "main.css".

Wow. Extremely well done. I understood everything, but that's certainly because I've written/edited wikipedia pages, which have some similarities. For anyone who is struggling through this condensed quick basics video...try playing around with some wikipedia page (though do not save the page as they are live) or better, create a wikia.com or some other wiki, and you'll be able to play around however you like. Personally I don't think I would have been able to follow this easily without that previous experience. But in any case, Chris, thanks for making a concise video and explaining everything VERY well!!

Very helpful video, I discovered when I wanted to contact css, so it don´t work. If you are in windows 10, DO NOT use the usual notepad, download Notepad ++ and it will work
