it's simple if you only talk about the Clone conversation, but as long as I have the real conversation I don't care, you guys can have the Clone conversation as long as I have the real one.
@@goonsquad8258 It made absolutely no sense, we've already done successful cloning, it doesn't copy memories. You would have to inject their DNA into an embryo to clone someone. What's more is, the clone would just be some innocent dude with the genetic material of either Osama or Hitler, fucking with him and or torturing him would be completely immoral. And besides, everyone said no from the beginning, but Chris tried to keep it going.
I thought the "maclunky" thing was Zach screwing around at first, and that the star wars clip was an edit. I can't believe they actually added that nonsense. Good lord.
To this day, the funniest thing I remember from OneyPlays is a bit that was edited out while playing Sonic 06 I think? And when they return from the cut everyone is laughing so loud it sucks it had to be cut out. Then later they said it wasn't really funny but I remember just feeling so giddy from their collective laugh.
Shame Matt Watsons kind of a scumbag now. Only ever cared about putting up a friendly appearance and kept ghosting Ding and Julian's messages to hang out and be real friends.
@@mikemccoy7931 Sounds like you're confusing a non edited, lazier tone with being negative/downers. What they talked about is clearly way more serious than almost anything else they've talked about. Suicide, gaslighting, revealing information after one of them dies, etc. You almost come off as insensitive as a result.
@@mikemccoy7931 “Ugh, they were talking about real life issues and not putting on their usual goofy personas for me to clap my feet to? Ugh. I hate it when my content tries to act like real people.” - You, probably.
If there was a clone of a person that had the same memories and personality, would you consider the clone to be the same person? Would you morally judge them for the actions of the original? Would that change if the original was dead?
Everyone saying that Chris was right in the clone conversation but he still kinda wasnt. They were definitely exaggerating but they knew it was about morals, and gave answers immediately. But Chris, dissatisfied with their responses, started adding more stuff. At that point, because he was clearly trying to lead them to an answer, it was free reign for them to pick it apart as much as possible because of his constant doubling down and introduction of new elements (along with how ridiculous it already was). They definitely understood him, so idk why people say they didnt, and act as though he was "right"? But no hate to him, I get his frustration and it was a great bit.
@@BumboLooks What I meant was there's no point in asking somebody a question like "What would you do if..." if you've already decided what that person would do.
@@electricyetis There's nothing wrong with disagreeing and enforcing your view. It only gets pointless when you ask a question and then prevent the answerer from even talking. So a typical online streamer debate where one streamer mutes the guy they invited.. Now that IS pointless.
The clone conversation boils down to semantics, but Chris is correct here. DD and Matt assume that because the clone only has the memories, therefore, it’s innocent. But it’s not. It’s literally still Hitler. The hypothetical doesn’t place his conscious being into a total memory wipe, it’s all his thoughts and memories but the clone wasn’t physically there in the timeline to commit these actions. So it’s still evil and believes the same ideology as the original. But instead of engaging with the hypothetical, they get hung up on a dictionary definition that does not change the question.
A person could kill someone, then clone himself, kill the original, and when the police comes for him, he could just say "it wasn't me, I'm just a clone", even though the cloning was specifically made to avoid the consequences. I'm with Chris in this.
I get being personally triggered by it, but honestly how many murder jokes are made every day? Idk. I guess rape jokes are messed up, but jokes are jokes. Not sure how to feel about it. Personally I'm not offended. They make fun of everything and everyone. Chris even made a rosacea joke. I don't like having rosacea but who gives a fuck. I doubt he really cares if you have that or is trying to make anyone feel bad.
Yeah Chris was entirely valid in his issuing of the tiny Hitler hypothetical. Everyone else was needlessly nitpicking the most irrelevant details like braindead assholes, if I were Chris I'd be screaming at DD too (who funny enough is generally the straight man to Chris's antics but this just made him look stupid).
The Pocket Hitler was really good. I think it might be the funniest due to the “What is a homoncolus?” Question and “I’d pour boiling milk on pocket hitler”
@@johnnybravo5726Not really. The clone literally didn't do anything wrong, you'd have to be an objectively evil messed up individual to torture it, it's a bad hypothetical. You can't even pass it off as absurd because Chris genuinely thinks it's "obvious" that everyone would. "Would you torture the real one" would make more sense as a hypothetical, it doesn't assume anything.
I always loved it when Julian tries to make a joke but it goes unnoticed only for Ding Dong to bring it back in the same moment; like the 80's phone call when Julian randomly brought up New Wave for nobody to laugh then Ding Dong just brings it back so it can be heard. that's freaking schweet.
I’m really sad about all the DingDong discourse and how the content hungry drama channels placed him in the spotlight. If all of that had slipped under the radar we’d still be hearing from those rascals.
i'm with Chris on the Hitler hypothetical, they absolutely refused to question their own moral standings, which killed the argument before it got derailed into minutia.
it's frustrating to listen to but I like to think that Matt and Ding Dong knew exactly what he was talking about, and they just wanted to fuck around with him, intentionally derailing the conversation.
I disagree. They absolutely answered his question, he just didn't like their answer, so he tried to put his own in their mouth, and move the goalposts nonsensically.
@@senorsnout4417 True, except for them screaming for elaboration and more details and then turning around and asking Chris why was he giving them more details. No matter how you look at it, everyone but Chris sounded like rampant idiots lol. He continued with details because they were literally screaming for them.
To this day I still defend Chris's clone conversation. Matt and Ding Dong wouldn't entertain such a small, trivial detail, all because it's not "technical" but as Chris literally said, calmly, "ITS A FUCKING HYPOTHETICAL"
@@madnessbound uhh let's say aliens come down from planet Makluu 4 in 1940 and scan Hitler's body. They're able to create a clone with all of its memories intact , but the mother ship gets blasted by allied tanks. We recover the aircraft, along with it's cloning technology, the Hitler clone, aaaaand a shrinking ray gun. Now, would you torture that clone or not?
@@madnessbound Cloning in data science means an exact copy. So a Clone of a human could be the perfect replication of every cell. Something that is impossible with a purely genetic clone. Chris and his friends were too stupid to realize that the whole argument could have been saved. Likewise Chris could have argued that every cell in his "clone" was 1/50th the original size. Thus creating a Hitler "clone" that is 1/50th his original height. And specify that the only imperfection is the cell size..mm.

1:12:47 matt saying he stopped associating with OneyPlays bc he felt pressured to put on an edgy persona for laughs and then saying shit like this unprompted and no one laughing is funny in itself
The fact that you have enough respect to let the joke play out completely makes me very happy I see a lot of compilations where they cut the joke well done you just got a new subscriber
after a couple yrs of introspection i have come to the conclusion that Chris was right in the clone debate and everyone else was unnecessarily argumentative
You know, if they didn't want to answer the hypothetical, they should have just been honest and said so instead of feigning ignorance, but it made for some funny shit lol
The lead up to the clone hypothetical makes me feel like watching a character death on TV. Like I know it’s going to happen but my mind just hopes against logic that it’ll be different this time, someone will agree with Chris or he gives in. But it’s always the same result
I feel like Chris just doesn’t want to feel bad that he wants to torture a tiny hitler, so he’s trying to get his friends to say that they would do it too.
Well if I am teleported into the white room I can't really say because then I also will be a fucking clone and Hitler would be clone of a copy which further removes him from moral resposibility for his memories unless I used wormhole which defeats the entire point of the white room, allowing me to just keep Hitler in big terrarium which I could turn into Spectacular Hitler's Snail Ranch.
What if from an alternate universe where everything in history happened exactly the same except the Earth and everything on it was three times smaller. The Hitler from there was transported to our universe. Would you torture him?
god the clone conversation was so easy to understand but ding dong and matt kept bringing things up like “how am i gonna breath” and then matt said chris was the one to bring up details like that it was so infuriating!!
