Free agent regens are way too OP this year. At most do 1 free agent per year, even a couple years down the road. I’d rather see you use players from the academy anyways tbh.

I think using free agents would be fine, as long as you put a limit on it lets say you kan sign two free agents per season for example. So that it's not unrealistic and you end up signing like five of them.

If you want to know another trick, if you think a youth academy would fit into another position, then let him train this positions but don't change it until you take him into the first team. It's very similar to this trick with the wingers, but you will see how op this is. Especially as the youth academy players don't really develop in the academy otherwise.

Harvey is 100% the homegrown talent preorder bonus player. You can tell because he’s wearing the teams kit in his picture. None of the normal academy players have that.

I saw in the video that converting harvey to a cb gets a +4 at centerback and also you can tell if your player is a homegrown talent is if in the squad hub you look at the face of your homegrown talent it will show your clubs kit underneath their face

I think you could move Harvey around and see where he has the best ratings, and then convert him into that position. For me, he is a CDM, he got 2 assists which shows he is a good playmaker, so you might want to convert him to a different position Like so Cani can see

Harvey has better defending than attacking....he'll be a higer rated CM imo

base your academy around 3-4 countries with some occasional 1-2 players popping up from random countries.....so that you can create a club culture

It looks as harvey could play all over the pitch. Try to make him play in almost every position during his career. It could be cool. If you need a CB you could play him there, if you need a ST then ST and that for every position. Almost as a player that safes you when you need any position due to injuries or red cards.

Make Harvey a CAM or even a CM because of his defensive abilities

I think when it comes to free agents I think it's fine as long as there is a limit to how many per season as well as only being able to sign someone who's equal or below the rating of your strongest player or something along those lines is fine. Also I would like to add playing in a formation with a CF and Striker might be interesting to actually use Rayner and if not then turning him into a CAM since he has potential to bring an impact to the team.

When Harvey is pressed by a defender, spam L2 to push the defender off of him. Since he has 99 strength that should help him lose the ball less

You should put Harvey at CB or CDM to see where he plays best, he looks like I good defensive player

Don't change Harvey to a centre back. Just train his finishing and skills and he will be a tank

Harvey is John Charles reborn he was a striker who would score first half hatricks then gets moved center back to keep the clean sheet he was insane!!! Would love to see Harvey be like that

I highly recommend to switch to a 5 at a back formation ie. 5-2-3 or 5-3-2, so you get wing-backs which can join in attacks as well. No lower league teams will use a False 9 set up. If you want, 4-3-3 Holding is fine.

When you brought up the free agents bit, something came to mind almost immediately for me regarding the realism bit. If at all possible, you should make players on expiring contracts not renewing their deals if they are unhappy/feel the club is below them more common with mods. As the game currently is I feel like players on expiring contracts will almost always have their deals renewed once the January window is about to open. And as such we don't see big free agent moves in CM even though they're very real, and happen on a somewhat regular basis in football

i had an awfully similar youth academy star to harvey, down to the better defending and everything. i'd 100% recommend keeping him as a striker, he may be better as a center back now but long term he will be an insane striker, he has all the tools to succeed. excited for the series!

at the end of the season select your best young player (other than ones already with high potential) and give them potential boosts

In order to keep it interesting maybe you could add a rule of selling one youth academy player from the starting 11 each season. It also kinda makes sense since the poorest clubs can't afford their young players to stay as long as they used to and it would give more space to develop even more youth academy players.

Each episode you could have goals for a certain player, and if they hit that goal then the get an upgrade. For example, if Harvey scores 3 goals this episode he gets a +2 in shooting.

I think each season you should do awards to upgrade players eg Goal of the season: +5 on 2 random shooting stats Player of the season: +5 on any random stat Young player of the season(u18): upgrade potential by 1-5 (random) Most games played (except keepers) get a stamina boost by 3-10 (random)

I think in the future harvey should be playing cb. He gets +2 at cb and has perfect stats for that potition but for now he may be the only player that can score

Free agents are ok. I think if you wanted to wait seasons a good benchmark would be to start signing them when you get promoted to the Championship. The OP free agents are generally 70+ overall which you can’t sign below the Championship anyway

Cani here is an idea that came to my mind when i was watching the video and you said that Harvy has the most boring hair cut.Why don’t you change the haircuts of the players at the end of each season depending on how they perform for example if he has scored most of the goals,most assists,most clean sheets and etc.I think that this would be fun.You can decide if you want to change the colour of their haircuts.It would be interesting.

Hey Cani, there’s a tradition in the Mexican soccer league when youth academy players get called up to the first team, the first team players shave there heads. It would be funny to see all your players bald for atleast 2 epidodes 😂

I think using free agents is fine, however, in the first few seasons you should only sign players from the Home Nations ( England, Scotland, Wales, N.Ireland and allow ROI ) since you are based in England. Only when you get into the Championship you could open it up to other areas in Europe then once in the EPL you can get them from anywhere in the world.
