+Always Smile Exactly. Actually I was expecting 'Don't you look like a virgin sacrifice' said in different accents. That's the sentence they use everytime for challenges that include things like 'say something' XD
GPOY: Short for "Gratuitous Picture Of Yourself," usually accompanied picture of yourself, or something that you do. Most commonly used on tumblr both in the main post and as a tag. thanks to urban dictionary
I am from the south, and that southern accent Natasha did was the best thing i ever heard! Lol xD Also i wouldn't change Natasha's accent i think its super adorable.
The video opens with Natasha doing a perfect impression of Mia Kirshner as Jenny doing an Italian accent pretending to be "Sophia Mancuso from Si Magazine" and if anyone gets my reference right off the bat then congratulations, you're the gayest :D
Oh my gosh Natasha. I'm from Melbourne and your crack at our accent has me crying with mirth! So funny! It's one of the hardest accents to adopt though, so don't feel too bad for not having it down pat.
french is actually used all around the country but is some provinces more than others. Quebec's official language is french but there's also New Brunswick (where i'm from) that's the only province officially bilingual. there's is a surprising amount of francophones in Ontario and quite a few francophone comunities in the rest of the provinces
So happy to hear someone else correctly pronounce caramel! I'm from the Midwest US and they forget the other A around here!! Also, Kinda (really) excited to hear how Your and Elise's voices blend!!
as I'm Spannish I really apreciate your clear accent, it's easier to me to understand everything! My favourite accent is in fact the Britsh and the hardest for me to undersand maybe Scotthish or Irish
As an Australian you did a good job trying out our accent you did manage to get the pronunciation of it right but I do love your Canadian accent the best and the way you pronounce bag 😊😂
NutsAboutNames Nope. Not a-boat. I used to work for a company that did customer service for T-Mobile. Americans always thought I was saying oot and aboot. Then I realised they hear the pronunciation of the 'u'. We don't hear it. We slide through it. I don't know IPA so here's an approximation: ah/beh-üt (the 'h' here is silent and would make the 'e' kind of like the 'e' in pet. They are the sound of the 'o' in about. You rapidly slide through the u and don't elongate the 'oo' sound.
When I was a child I watched a lot of tv shows in different languages and picked up a few accents: British, Scottish, and French are the ones I can do the best. My own accent is a mixture of New Englander and Southern, although I will randomly get a hit of British or switch to British completely in the middle of a sentence. Can I choose the way a certain person speaks as a favorite accent?
Could we just have a video series of you reading short stories of your choice to us with the crackling fire in the background? Natasha's Novellas? haha Quite relaxing indeed.
Haha, I thought based on the title that this would be an accent challenge specific to Canada! Pronouncing words like Torontians, Haligonians, Montréalais, etc. Loved the accents, and if you could do a video with Canadian regional accents I'd love that too!
Hey Natasha! According to google GPOY is an acronym that stands for “gratuitous picture of yourself.” The acronym is almost always followed by a photo or an animated GIF that's either a selfie or an image of someone/something else that resembles a situation, action or character similar to the user who is sharing it.
I'm from Yorkshire, so like you said, different regions of England equate to different accents. Think Mel B and you've pretty much got me in a nutshell. I can put on an Irish accent, a south accent (like, Dolly Parton-ish), I can speak some French...that's about it.
Ahh, Natasha, half of your family is Macedonian!! As a Bulgarian that made me really happy 😊 Also your accents were really on point 😄 and you're a really cute human! ;)
Well I barely speak standard English because I'm from the Caribbean but I can do Jamaican, Irish, Indian and Russian accents. Love you Natasha. Much love from Trinidad. 😘😘😘
Maltese - good morning [bonguww] (originated from the french colony that spent 2 years in Malta..and therefore our pronunciation mimicked that of the French one (bonjour) :)
Thanks for being you, @natvanlis 1. It's called vandalism. 2. Pop. 3. Running shoes (unless they are a stylish sport shoe not at all intended for sports, in which case they are a sneaker). 4. Gramma/Papa or Granma/Granpa. 5. First of all, it's a grocery store, not a supermarket. And I use a cart or even a basket (even when getting a wheeled one). 6. Remote.
British and Italian are two of the best accents! I'm from Colombia and we have way too many accents depending on the city but mine (which is "Paisa" from Medellin) is definitely one of my favorites if I may say so myself ;)
Love it! The little voice in your head that you narrate with of mine was British for a period because of Harry Potter books, so I feel that. proper, for sure ;))
Oli Searcy I'm from Ontario. I say both! It depends on with whom I'm speaking and the inflection. Strange. I'm not sure if you're asking because you're inquiring about the Canadian accent in general; but it often depends on where one is from in Canada. Those of us in Ontario say things differently from those in other provinces. In fact, Southern Ontarians (specifically near American borders) have a longer 'A' than other Ontarians and have a more American-Canadian accent (in South Ontario it's a coin toss between Buffalo, N.Y. & Eastern Michigan, in my experience).
I love Australian accents because they're so strange! I can do a fairly good one myself. And I can do a lot of accents from around America because I'm from here
Hey Natasha, I'm in Toronto for holiday since 2 days. Yesterday, I went to a grocery store and the cashier asked me if I needed a bag. I made him repeat it twice cause I didn't understand what he was talking about. It made me think about this video. English isn't my mothertongue but I understand it quite well.
I do love a good Irish accent and luckily living in Liverpool you hear the Irish accent a lot. I also love the Welsh accent & Scottish...so basically I love the Celts.
oh my god so u literally nailed ALL the accents accept my southern one ROFL omg I promise the twang isn't that hard. But i do say yall and pop and hate (wearing) shoes
Jessica Williams I'm in Iowa now they are BRAINWASHING me with their northern slang haha! I'm from Arkansas so it was always soda or "sodie" as a kid 😂😂 save me!
I'm Canadian but my dad is English and was a stay at home dad so I had an English accent when I was younger and I still sometimes slip into it. It's funnier though when I'm listening to someone and only realise they have a British accent after someone else points it out to me (aka Adele, Thor, and my one teacher who I didn't realise was English for an entire semester)
My friends say that I have a thing with accents. Because when I speak English I sound really American and when I speak French I sound like a native French xD (I'm portuguese) And your accents are ON POINT!
