Where the USA has states, and Canada has provinces, Ireland has Counties. and, fun fact: they don't always get along. Now, that's not to say they don't TRY, it just doesn't always work out.

South of Dublin is the posh side! North is real common like for example Ballymun or Coolock hahaha well not all of South mostly Lucan is posh but North is more common in Dublin

Around 1850, there were immigrants who came from Waterford to what is now Newfoundland and Labdador, Canada. Their accent has remained virtually unchanged since then.

If someone says you sound Canadian, they could mean you sound like a Newfoundlander (aka a "Newfie" who speaks "Newfinese"). It's so funny to hear the accents because I live In Cape Breton island,Nova Scotia,Canada and we say a lot of the same words as the Irish. I believe a lot of the ancestors of people from Cape Breton are Irish and Scotish.
