I have experience felling trees and I went back to look at this on my first watch. The trees wouldn’t necessarily fall towards the lower edge of the cut - it all depends on the center of gravity of what is above the cut (all the branches and such). In a forest, trees rarely grow evenly on all sides, which is why you look up the trunk when planning your cut to basically do the opposite of what the episode showed and make your notch on the heavy side. So, it’s possible as shown, but also one of the least safe ways to purposefully cut down a tree :)
@hobbs678
@hobbs678 3 месяца назад
Also worth noting that Qimir doesn't actually fully cut through the trunks. They fall towards the upper end of the cut because of this and what you're saying about the center of gravity. The trunks "barber chair" and fall against the grain. You can actually spot the last bits of trunk peeling away and snapping on their backsides. Apparently they did their research!
@HorusHawks

In the episode where they’re in the apothecary, Qimir shouts at them when they come in, something like, “Please don’t do your Jedi mind wipe thing!” I think he said that to put them off guard, and make them self conscious about doing something so invasive. So I believe that’s why Sol was put off guard and didn’t investigate him any deeper at the time. Just kinda what I was thinking anyway. 🤷‍♂️

So we're supposed to believe that Qimir is on a similar level to Palpatine, who could hide his darkness right under the nose of the Jedi? Lol they're portraying the Jedi of this era as detectives, they're literally investigating a murder, but because one of their potential suspects asks them not to wipe his mind, I guess they're too self conscious to pick up on his darkness or be suspicious of him whatsoever.

Hmmm I still don’t believe he’s a Sith despite what Mannay and production say. They could have just been told to say that to hide the real reveal. Because the Star Wars Databank doesn’t classify him as a Sith like it does Darth Maul. Annnd you of all people would know that the dialogue they chose is intentional. If they wanted to dub him a Sith Lord, they would have used more direct dialogue when Sol ask what he is and flat out say, “I am a Sith”. Instead the audience gets an open ended answer that could be interpreted differently. Either the writers they’re trolling us to spark up engagement or their misleading us to save for a bigger reveal…

He could have found a Sith Holocron, perhaps even darth Banes who had the cortosis connection. That way he would have training from a powerful sith, making his power and raw skills more believable, he'd know of the sith, want the most powerful acolyte to become an apprentice and continue the rule of two. That is probably how the trees would fall in real life. The trees were not cut all the way through. You can see the uncut side of the trunks break and peel away from the lower part of the trunk like peeling a banana. Also, it appears that the larger branches on all the trees were on the side of the tree away from the clearing so most of the weight is pulling the trees towards that side.

The thing about making all these motifs for every character is that at some point they will remind me of others. Kylo Ren's theme constantly reminds me of Gojira Tai Mosura. Mf Godzilla coming out. Or Pharoah Monch.

Little thing but the tree trunks were not severed completely. So when they split, the still intact part of the tree which is opposite the camera is bearing the full weight of the trunk causing the trees to fall away

Personally, I think Qimir was another child that was being raised by the coven, and he saw whatever it was that Sol did there, that was what he was referring to when he asked if Sol didn't remember him, as he was probably so young then that he looked sufficiently different that Sol wouldn't recognize him. And that would also explain those very suspicious looks those two witches gave each other when Osha told Mae they were the only children there.

Umm, tilting head gesture was certainly effective in Scream… but first I’ve seen it was Halloween, also incredibly effective there, especially in H4 and H5 Also didn’t Sol basically use mind reading on the escaped prisoner earlier in the season to make them confess?

I’m gonna say it now what I’ve been saying since episode 3: this will end up as one of the best and most celebrated Star Wars series, second only to Andor. This episode 5 might be one of the best 30 minutes of Star Wars of all time.

24:45 I couldn't stop screaming at the screen for Sol to JUST KILL HIM! HE KILLED A CHILD AND MANY OTHER PEOPLE! this anger and hatred is CLEARLY JUSTIFIED and killing him would save lives! the most suffering that would happen due to it would be Sol having guilt for killing him (as if) and the audience suffering through it "whyyyyyy would you even feel guilt for neutralizing such a vicious killer?! AHHHHHH!!!!!!"

I wonder if Qimir is actually the father of the twins. The witches kept him prisoner for "Snu-Snu", and the Jedi interference helped him get his freedom.

The Knights of Ren, and Ren, are not Sith though. And seeing as the Sith are all about freedom, I don't think they have a problem with the KoR or any other Dark Side users co-existing, so long as they aren't training *as* Sith. (In fact, both Palpatine and Vader have used and interacted with the KoR and had no issue with them existing.)

What if this “sith” is actual a Triplett of Mae and osha, which the mothers had to keep secret since their whole motto is the power of two, and having Triplett would mess that up?

Great video! I didn't think of Kelnacca as being framed responsible for the deaths of the Jedi 🤯 In 100 there could be more Siths, I hope they don't make this one Plagueis or Tenebrus, but someone else who came before them. The Empire existed for 25 years, and Anakin was born 22 years prior, so it could be less than 50 years for Sidious.

@@HTPZtruth is, you don’t know who is watching or isn’t. Plenty of committed fans are into it and want to see the series to its conclusion. It’s already better than Obi Wan and Ahsoka. Obvious the 14% is just pathetic review bombing.
