EVERY episode of The Acolyte is The Worst Episode YET.

Where is the Jedi counsel? How are they hiding from the counsel the fact that multiple Jedi Knights, Masters and now Padawans have been aced? Yoda and Mace Windu could both feel when Anakin killed the Sand People and that was light years away. Yoda could feel when Jedi started dying during order 66. Obi Wan could feel the destruction of Alderaan. Luke could feel & sense Vader's presence from a different ship. Not only that but wouldn't folks attached to these now ghosted Jedi be asking, "Where is everybody?"

Lucas: "Jedi are good because they are compassionate and selfless... Sith are evil because they are purely selfish" Acolyte: "Like Lucas established, the Jedi are corrupt, child-snatching, over-bearing, police-of-the-universe, pious religious leaders. Kiss their ring lest they be angry 👑 ..." 🤦‍♂️

The moths are because the writers can’t be bothered to make a cohesive plot but they can easily rely on some random animal coming out of no where to distract the enemy and allow the good guys to recoup.

If you slow down the clips, you will see the “sith” block and disable lightsabers with his BARE ARM! Once in the multi-Jedi fight, he blocks the blue with his arm and disables it, following that up with a headbutt (!) blocking and disabling the yellow one. He then repeats that same tactic to defeat Yord - bare arm block. When did disabling lightsabers become a thing?! Um…Lightsabers = 20,000 degree F plasma. Just saying. 47 years ago I saw Star Wars in theaters. WTF am I watching?

One liners are like icing sugar on a cake. Disney have removed the cake and expect everyone to either eat or snort the icing sugar.

Making "good guys" morally ambiguous means there is no right, there is no wrong, only power. There can be no argument from morality when morality is devolved into acts of power.

This episode was what the Acolyte series should have been. Super dark episode. IMO I enjoyed it a lot. However, that third episode and bad writing overall still holds the show back.

They set up the bugs being attracted to light… by Sol’s lightsaber. But they are not attracted to all the lightsabers during the battle? But when there’s a flashlight?

Just goes to show you what happens when you have writers that don't undeerstand the fans nor the source material...

Lightsabers have depreciated in power every time someone ignites one it seems. They’re eventually not going to be able to pierce a piece of paper.

It’s bad because the writers,showrunners and actors are the real life sith. They are evil,and evil always thinks it’s right,they’ll never think what they think or do is wrong,there’s no self assessment of their bahiviour. They demand respect,they can’t see past their own opinions,and they identify with the sith,not the Jedi,because the sith are all about themselves. And the Jedi are selfless and do things for the greater good. So self obsessed showrunners and writers are not gonna identify with the Jedi as everything is about their power,their ideas,their view. Seriously this show sums up how morally awful the people in Hollywood are right now. The lot of them are basically the wicked queen from Snow White,looking in the mirror at themselves,but not asking who’s the fairest of them all,they just tell the mirror they are the fairest,as it doesn’t occur to them ever,they are just plain wrong. Sad times for entertainment. I’ll miss Star Wars but I’ll never watch an episode of anything Disney put out again.

#4 Fix: KNOW that Jedi can read thoughts and Master Sol would know INSTANTLY that Osha was actually Mae Also, Smilo Ren can whip 6 Jedi PLUS a padawan, but a few minutes later, that same padawan can go toe-to -toe with Smilo and even knock his lightsaber-proof helmet off with a glass-shattering sound from her elbow. Then get killed by a lightsaber dagger

Someone has to ask the question: "If the bird-bug-things are attracted to light sources... _why didn't they attack all the Jedi/the Sith earlier?!_ As for 'Good vs Evil', the only characters who people can root for that are villains are people like Grand Admiral Thrawn, who operates on a 'Order vs. Chaos' instead of straight 'good vs evil', which people can relate to. People can't relate to Sith being portrayed as 'good guys'. Protagonists maybe, but definitely not 'good guys'.

I can tell this person was never a star wars fan because they got so much wrong about the lore. Look up cortosis So you fix is to do exactly what they did in the episode. What. Again you want them to do exactly what the show is doing. She want her family back. She wanted revenge for her family and now she know her sister is alive. Don't want a relationship with her sister? Whites who feel guilty about being white are less likely to be angry about stagnant or declining incomes, as the rich keep getting richer. Woke culture costs the rich nothing. The fact that economic elites are woke makes agreeing with them a kind of status symbol. Second, woke culture has become a substitute for lost religious faith.

The postmodern idea of "Let's deconstruct everything by redefining the previous heroes as villains" was the fresh approach for Scifi/Fantasy/Superhero media in the 1990s (the decade of the antihero), but quickly became itself a tired trope and a target for deconstruction. As the Woke movement is deeply enmeshed with the pretentious fringe of postmodern academia, it's no wonder they take this route, as they have nothing new to say... they can only tear things down.

If they want moral gray area type stories for Star Wars, then center it around bounty hunters and crime organizations and make it a more mature story set in the Star Wars galaxy. Not about the main conflict of Jedis vs Sith or Empire Vs Rebellion. Also, don’t make it like Book of Bobby Fat was. 🤮

Tackling how Jedi and Sith can fall into morally gray territory isn't bad in itself. Knights of the old republic 2 is indicative of that. The problem is moreso that these aren't writers that can make it compelling.

We all knew that Mae and Osha were going to switch places at some point, so Mae could "destroy the Jedi from the inside". Also, how are the Jedi "evil" if they're NOT doing any of the "evil things" that Mae thinks they're doing? Is the Dark side making everyone that succumbs to it "twisted and evil" somehow "good"? Finally, if the Jedi can sense feelings and emotions, then HOW will they not immediately realize that Mae switched places with Osha and is only pretending to be her? Wouldn't Mae's Lesbian Space Witch tatoo be a pretty obvious give away...especially to Osha's former Jedi Master??? Where's the mystery? Where's the "twist"? What the f*ck were the writers SMOKING when they wrote this sh*t?

And ofcourse they made the Sith a white japanese looking dude. Totally not rasist agenda detected.

Within the logic of the writers, i truly don't understand why they seem to have no clue what personality Mae should have. Ep 1 hated Jedi and wanted them dead, even seemed to take pleasure from knowing she killed 1. Ep 2 suddenly has the whole "kill them without weapons" so now she has a tragic backstory. Ep 3 just shows her as a lunatic even as a kid who tried to murder her sister. Ep 4 takes a massive turn and she's suddenly good and wants to turn herself in because "her loyalty is to Osha". Now in Ep 5, she's back to evil and wants to infiltrate the Jedi.......for some reason, instead of staying with the sister she just said she was loyal to. They legitimately have zero clue what they're doing.

the angles at which the fight scene was shot are so god damn terrible... George Lucas made sure we had wide shots in the prequels to have a good view of everything that was going on... but with those close ups and shaky cams from Disney, the fights just look absolutely terrible. I can't see shit. Nothing to admire. Just chaos.

I think this episode had the best live action lightsaber fight in the Disney Era (it only took them 12 years to get that right lol), but anything besides that was just as bad as the last episodes, especially the dialogue

Literally EVERYONE gets lightsabers wrong. The modern writers, the so called "experts"... Lightsabers wont kill....lightsaber will literally set you on fire! Christ sake

Not gonna lie the addition of cortosis as the sith’s armor which if you don’t know is the reason why their lightsabers keeps turning off was kinda cool, this is the first time we get to see it in canon makes me think some of the people working on the acolyte actually reads stuff in legends

Heres the funny part, Smiloren doesn't refer to himself as a Sith, rather he states that they would call him a Sith, implying the Jedi refer to any force user who doesn't fillow their teaching as Sith. So now the Jedi are essentially bigoted ists/phobes because they would call another force user a Sith when they're not subscribed to the jedi ways, not because hes killing people and has a red lightsaber.

This is arguably the best episode from The Acolyte and I still didn’t feel completely satisfied from it. I think I’m DONE watching the rest of it. I gave it 5 episodes too many when I should’ve kept it at zero. We’re now left with another mystery regarding Sol and what really happened in Brendok? What’s Sol hiding? The reveal will be bashed because we all saw it coming from a smilo away. It actually makes Mae look more of a dumbass that she didn’t know who her master was all this time and treated him like a fool when she was the fool. I’m fine if Qimir happened to be Smilo Ren but I thought it would’ve been better off if he was only a red herring and it was a character we hadn’t seen yet. Make it a complete surprise. So the convenience having similar hairstyle after 16 years is for Mae to do an Arryk Cargyll did in House of the Dragon? Do a Parent Trap? All Mae had to do was cut the longer part from the back of her hair and she will look exactly like Osha. Why doesn’t Sol not sense that’s Mae? Does Qimir know that’s Osha? Why not kill her since she already knows his identity? Why would Osha turn to the Sith when she’s been pro-Jedi since she was a child? Wasn’t Mae the one who fell in Brendok? Who told her Osha was dead? Who has been sheltering Mae all these years? She couldn’t find out after 16 years that Osha trained to be a Jedi since that’s what she wanted the last time they saw each other? The writers turned Mae into the biggest dumbass in this story. She wasn’t aware of her master who stood right next to her all this time. It’s like Vader not checking in on his home planet. That maybe he should try to attempt to find the man who decapitated him. But yeah, he hates sand. Props to Jecki. She handled the fights better than Yord did, a Jedi Master. 🤦🏻 Yord was frickin’ WEAK! You see one scene with his lightsaber against Smilo Ren/Darth Venom’s and then it took only 2 seconds for unmasked Qimir to twist his neck to death. Yord sucks! Only Qimir, Sol and Jecki showed any real skills in these fights. The lightsabers that kept going out was a bit annoying and I didn’t like how the trees were obscuring the early fight scenes. Too bad Jecki had to die in it. She was becoming a more interesting character than the Aniseya twins and Rey. Better moves than Shin Hati from last year and I was loving Shin Hati. Better moves than Rey in any of the Sequel Trilogy movies. Props to Daphne Keen. The slipping out of a second lightsaber from her was pretty cool only for Jecki to die that way. The real MVP is Qimir as he was able to kill 7 of the 8 Jedis. We know 5 of them were redshirts but I didn’t expect Yord and Jecki to die in it this soon. But then the ridiculous scene when Osha put Pip on Qimir’s back to attract those giant moths. He probably would’ve killed Mae and Sol had Osha didn’t do that. But for story purposes, Mae and Sol needs to wear their plot armor. I still felt dissatisfied from this episode. I don’t think I will continue it any further. Maybe I will watch the final three episodes like half a year later on a random day. I can already predict how this unfolds. Osha will kill Qimir at the end. Maybe we will get some fan service that Qimir was serving under Tenebrous but I don’t find this story and this mystery very interesting. It’s just a BAD show and Amandla can go ahead and call me a racist and sexist for it. Make another music video for us, you narcissist. June 2025: Andor Season 2 ^ My most anticipated for anything next year. For 2020: The Last Dance My favorite from 2020 being a big Michael Jordan fan with The Mandalorian Season 2 a close 2nd. For 2021: Spider-Man: No Way Home Lived up to it’s hype and remains my favorite Spider-Man movie ever made. Yeah, it can be overrated and the story is pretty awful. But it was MCU’s last very good movie/event. I don’t think Deadpool & Wolverine will surpass No Way Home for me because I don’t care about the people that Deadpool cares about. No Way Home gave us the ultimate fan service of Tobey, Andrew, and Tom together at last! For 2022: The Batman Became one of my top 5 favs of 2022 behind Elvis, Top Gun: Maverick, House of the Dragon S1, and Andor S1. I didn’t initially like Andor but it’s become my favorite thing that Disney has ever done for Star Wars. Andor had no lightsabers and it still surpassed Revenge of the Sith which has an idiotic story on how Anakin turned so fast. Anakin spent 13 years with the Jedis and then decides to kill his Jedi brothers and sisters because he wants to save Padmé. That’s stupid. For 2023: Loki Season 2 Became my favorite for all of 2023 while Air was my favorite movie. Loki only had 12 episodes but it was consistently good. I think Loki’s worst episodes are better than any episode from The Acolyte. Oppenheimer is in my top 5 but it wasn’t exactly my favorite and neither was MI7: Dead Reckoning Part I. For 2024: House of the Dragon S2 After two episodes, is currently living up to the hype. Should surpass Season 1 easily since there’s more action in it. More war. I still can’t believe Episode 2 made the two most hated characters for book readers and made them likable! Aegon and Otto’s scenes were the chef’s kiss. 😘 Give Tom and Rhys their Emmy noms. My most anticipated was never Deadpool 3. I think that movie can reach my top 5 but I’m not as psyched about it as others. Just more of Ryan Reynold’s shtick that gets tiresome. For 2025: Andor S2 I believe it’s going to live up to my expectations like Loki S2 did and what HOT D is currently doing. I believe Andor S2 easily surpasses that Rey movie and The Mandalorian and Grogu movie. I’m more interested in the Dawn of the Jedi than I am for a Rey or Mando movie. After Mando Season 3, I don’t seem to care much about The Mandalorian. The finale of The Book of Boba Fett and Mando S3 ruined The Mandalorian for me. We all know Grogu was created to sell toys. I only saw it once and while I didn’t hate it, I don’t remember much from it. Han Solo remains one of my favorite SW characters but I wasn’t feeling that movie because Harrison Ford wasn’t portraying him. The Acolyte is without a doubt the worst Star Wars project I have ever seen. Shame too because I was very intrigued by it when I read the synopsis for it about 4-5 years ago. I’ve tried playing both sides trying to defend it and then objectively criticize it. Weak story, weak dialogue, and weak acting. It’s going absolutely nowhere. I’m done. Y’all can finish the rest. I will be more focused in House of the Dragon S2 and The Boys S4. Much better shows than The Crapolyte. Love to Sol but the rest can all die and I wouldn’t care. I expect the ending is Osha kills Qimir and she, Mae, and Sol live happily ever after. Such a predictable and pointless story. Smilo Ren >> Kylo Ren Manny Jacinto still can’t save this shit show. Although Smilo Ren is cooler than Kylo Ren as he did kill 7 Jedis by himself while Kylo lost to an untrained girl, I still wouldn’t buy an action figure of Smilo. The story should’ve focused on Qimir and how he became a Sith. Not on Tia and Tamera from Sister, Sister.

May is saying before the jedi showed up she had a purpose. Thats wha was taken away. Not that they take away purpose in general.

While I too despise this show, I actually disagree with the point that jedis are just good and sith are always evil. Even in the original star wars films for example, it is clear that anakin skywalker isn't purely evil from the start. Also count dooku is also not that evil and corrupted. So a show like the acolyte could actually show that the lines between good and bad aren't always that clear. This could've been an interesting concept. You can also see how that worked in Andor - a brilliant show - that demonstrated that rebels aren't always heros and staff from the empire aren't always evil too.

Siths weakness has always been nature it makes sense that this would happen again and the moth this are still really dangerous even for a sith

They killed off Jekki and the guy, although if they’re treating lightsaber gut shots like Ahsoka, she may be coming back.

Love how the whole fan base has been brought together for the first time since Revenge Of The Sith because of how awful the Acolyte is, they thought they could split us and tear us appart, theyve had the shock of their lives that we will not let them continue to destroy something we hold so dear, this is the real 'power of maaaannnnyyyyy'.

It's strange how so many of the negative reviewers look alike. Any time Disney cast a beautiful African American in any roll. Well we see how they are treated. SHAME ON YOU. YEA SO THEY COST CUT A LITTLE.

The moth-beetle scene was so ridiculous. How does a Sith who can use the Force to fling a bunch of powerful Jedi through the air like they're paper, not manage to use the Force to take off a tiny little light attached to his back? Just cuz it's out of his physical reach? Come on...

I forgot bout that one. Yord gets his leg scratched by a lightsaber. Limps away. For some reason he thinks he has to escort a civilian back to the ship. Then they run back to the fight. Like he was never swiped with a lightsaber.

3 more episodes, and Star Wokes ends. How they will say, that the show is done after S1? The power of patriarchy strikes back??

The Osha/Mei combo as core characters is just bad choice --- Mei is weak and has no consistency in her character UNLESS there's a massive gotcha in later episodes showing she really was the good one all along but so far she's weak willed, inconsistent and switches loyalties as easily as a light switch. The bug thing was just weak writing. The padawan vs Mei and Smile-o was legit decent fighting -- but only goes to show how much of a terribly weak death Trinity in ep1 was. These jedi just feel so underpowered. Sol is keeping the jedi on his shoulders and needs to cos the rest are just lame.

Why are we giving negative reviews for click bait? This episode was sick. Can we be objective and not just say what everyone else is saying? We can do better than this people Last episode was objectively boring and this episode was objectively fun and cool

I mean, the entire prequel trilogy, especially revenge of the sith, was about the grey morality of the jedi. Their hubris blinded them from being able to sense a sith lord, and suppressing human emotion like love and passion and fear. Anakin was having completely natural emotions about keeping padme secret and hidden, his mom being killed by the sand-people, being scared about padme dying in childbirth, but not being able to talk about to anyone would drive anyone insane. Granted you could argue that Palpatine saw this and pounced on the vulnerability, but he didn't shun anakin for having those feelings, in fact he embraced them and told him, "hey, its ok to have those feelings, i can help you channel them into being super powerful and you'll be able to save padme in the process". As they kinda started out as "kids movies", its easy to mark them as a jedi good, sith evil, but that's not the case if you have any remote critical thinking skills. The jedi are thought to be good because they're the "protectors of the peace, not soldiers", but are so short sighted in their own beliefs that THEY'RE the good guys that they can't see that a person they're talking to and working with for over a decade would be a sith lord. And that they're ostensibly supposed to be duty bound monks with a vow of celibacy is just insane. Anakin was shunned the moment he got there, and never got any amount of support from Obi-wan, and the second he got any type of empathy from someone, he's apparently an "evil guy"?!?!? He never wanted to rule the galaxy with Sidius, which in itself isn't inherently evil. He just wanted to love Padme and save her from dying in childbirth. It was only when he saved Palpatine and killed Mace that he "turned" out of necessity. A galactic empire isn't by definition evil; millions of jobs created, peace among the planets, actual law and order, bustling economy, etc. The only thing we know is that the rebels are trying to kill everyone "evil" out of some weird sense of responsibility and righteousness. As for the show, yeah, its absolutely horrible. But not for it shining a light on the jedi-good, sith-evil thing and making it a grey area, because it's been there from the start. Luke's entire arc in ESB and ROTJ was that he sensed there was still good in Vader and he needed to try to turn him back.

You are too much of a toxic fan, tbh. The acolyte is trash, the Qimir reveal was obvious, but the fight scene was pretty good and you should have the integrity to say that, rather than just riding the hate train. Yes, the bug bird things ended the fight, but he wasn't injured by them at all, and short of having the Sith run away there had to be some stalemate event that excused both sides being alive at the end. I agree that it was very odd that the padawan held her own, but the choreography was good, especially compared to recent entries like Ahsoka. And you can't honestly tell me you expected her to die. A teenage girl in a Disney Starwars show getting straight up on screen murdered? But yes, as always everything related to plot and Amandla's characters was garbage and nonsensical.

Remember when Obi-wan got his leg sliced by Dooku and ended up paralysed by pain even when his life and Anakin's were in danger? Good old days when lightsaber where weapons to be feared and hadn't submit to the plot's whims. Dragging a fight scene for 25 freaking minute is already a disastrous idea... but to have the teased super-vilain ridiculed and casually disposed of by local wildlife is cherry on top of the shit cake... it's no longer bad writing at this point, it's purposely copying from "All to make your story sucks."

I don't agree with you on this episode. It was the best episode of the series so far. However, it was far from a great episode. First the positives. Some excellent use of the force and lightsaber fighting was excellent. Also I like this idea they are developing of Master Sol having some darkness. Negatives: It broke one of my absolute laws. "Don't save someone just to kill them off later" Saving Yord in the the first battle just to kill him later. I also did have issue with his amazing recovery to some extent as the force is able to help people who are wounded. I'm not sure you have ever read any books when they actually describe someone fighting through an injury. The other biggetst issue I had was Mae going back and forth and then the switcheroo. (Didn't mae have a rather obvious scar on her forehead.)

I don't get how the evil sister went from wanting to kill the jedi, to wanting to help her sister and join the jedi, to then leaving her sister for death to get her revenge on the jedi? Wtf? The whole episode 5 is here running around like a headless chicken, and the good sister is running around with the stun gun

To be fair, the fight was probably the most entertaining in all of Star Wars, except ROTS.

The only fix for Disney's Star Wars is fire everyone and erase all records of the movies and shows.

Darth Zippermouth bodies half a dozen Jedi, only to be defeated by giant moths. Good Lord. Of course, they're pulling a Parent Trap and having the twins switch places. You know, a Sith Lord and a Jedi Master can sense the difference between people through the Force, right? In the very first episode of the show, we see not only one but two Jedi use the Force to read people's minds and obtain the information they need. Not only that, but the bond between a Jedi Master and their Padawan, even if former, is strong. Sol would know that wasn't Osha.

I'm surprised Disney's still going. At this point, it's probably best to just cut their losses and get people who CARE about the franchise and just start over. IF that's even possible at this point.
